Return To Player - Chapter 6
Thousand Deaths.
An extremely rare SS-ranked passive skill.
This is the second time I’ve seen this skill.
The first time I saw it was from an existence called ‘Hyulma’ I met in the first round.
It was an existence that came from a place called ‘Jin’, a world where martial arts exist.
Hyulma, who I met through a quest, was the strongest person in the other dimension so he made quite an impression on me.
‘The skill that the ‘Hyulma’ had was Thousand Deaths.’
I wonder why Jisoo has this.
According to the ‘Hyulma’, beings with this skill have a big chance of losing themselves if they don’t control their power properly…..
‘If it’s the ‘fear trigger’ effect of Thousand Deaths, then it makes sense why the goblins ran away.’
Thousand Deaths has a characteristic that causes fear in their opponent.
It doesn’t work against people stronger than them, but if it’s goblins, it should’ve been enough.
‘Jisoo doesn’t show signs of that kind of Thousand Deaths side effects yet. I need to watch over her carefully.’
I looked through the invisible traits box.
She allowed me to see her status window but I still could not see her traits….
Maybe it’s one of her own unique abilities.
‘Since I’ve never heard of it from the ‘Hyulma’, it’s clear that there’s something different in the traits column.’
But even so, the question is why did Jisoo gain this skill?
I pondered for a while and asked Jisoo.
“Isn’t there something written in the section ‘traits’?”
“Yes, there is something written there……”
Jisoo hesitated a little at my question and then nodded her head.
“Can you tell me what is written on it?”
“Um, No…..”
This time, Jisoo shook her head. I wondered what the hell was written on it, but I decided to respect Jisoo’s decision.
I could already tell that she trusted me enough to tell me that there is something written there.
Traits are usually the same as the basis of our own representation, so even if she doesn’t want to talk about it, I can’t force her to tell me.
Just like my ‘Single Player’.
Perhaps she was worried that she didn’t answer me properly, she looked at me and carefully opened her mouth.
“Are you angry? If you want me to, I can tell you……”
“No, it’s okay. You don’t have to tell me. It’s just that you have a skill that’s rarer than expected.”
“A rare skill?”
I explained to Jisoo about the Thousand Deaths. Except, of course, the madness or crazy things I heard from the ‘Hyulma’.
“Oh, so the more blood I see or smell, the better my condition gets?”
“Right. The more you see blood, the stronger you get, whether it’s your own blood. Or even the blood of your opponent’s.”
“That’s….a pretty gruesome skill.”
Jisoo had a sullen face.
It seems that she did not know that she would develop a skill that would make her look like a murderer.
However, skills are not so easily manifested.
In particular, the fact that Jisoo’s SS-class skill, Thousand Deaths, was manifested is highly likely to have been possessed from the moment she awakened the player in the first place.
In a nutshell, Jisoo has the talent for slaughtering.
‘It’s a great advantage to not be an avatar and to have this level of skill.’
Despite facing numerous goblins, Jisoo’s skin was smooth with no injuries or scars.
The wounds were probably healed by the superimposition of the ability of Thousand Deaths and the VIP brooch effect I gave her.
It’s a synergy I wouldn’t have expected.
This is great, if it’s not an instant death wound, there may be no such things as fatal wounds to Jisoo.
‘Then…..’
I looked at Jisoo and contemplated for a while, then decided.
“Then, Han Ji-soo.”
“Yes?”
Jisoo, who has the skill Thousand Deaths, would have infinite potential.
It would be a waste to leave Jisoo as just a companion.
“Would you like to sign a contract with me?”
I was thinking of making Jisoo completely on my side right here.
The answer was simple.
There was the ‘multiplayer package’ that I saw earlier.
‘If the package is worth 20,000 points, then the package should be worth 20,000.’
The starter package which was only 500 points was very useful, so I was curious to see how much the multiplayer package with 20,000 points would be.
“A contract? What kind of…..?”
“Why are you blushing…..it’s just a party contract.”
I outlined the contract to Jisoo.
“Ah, so, it’s like those party from multiplayer games right?”
“Yeah, when it comes to RPGs, that’s the norm.”
“Oh, okay then.”
After hearing the explanation, Jisoo pondered for a moment and then slowly nodded her head.
“Great. It would be better for me to have a clear contract if I want to follow Sehan Oppa.”
Jisoo had a rather excited face.
‘Okay then. Finally, let’s make sure to double check the desciption of the package again.’
I opened the DLC store and read the description of the multiplayer package over and over again.
The multiplayer package had many benefits.
But what stood out the most was this.
‘Skill Sharing.’
It looked like each party member could share at least one skill.
Of course, party members were also able to receive skills from me.
The shared skill seemed to be a little inferior to its original form, but that didn’t matter much.
‘There are many places where that skill will be useful in the future.’
Even with this main quest right now, if you had this skill, you could easily complete it.
‘If the maximum number of party members you can receive is five then I can get at least five skills.’
I will be able to bring the main potentials out of those five skills.
I have a few talented people I can think of in my head.
If I can receive their skills, I can become much stronger than in my previous life.
Tiing!
[You have purchased the multiplayer package!]
[You can apply for a party from now on.]
[A party can have up to five people. Benefits: Skill sharing, increased skill proficiency, ETC.]
After hearing the message, I immediately opened my mouth to Jisoo.
“Party application, Ji-soo.”
“Ah, there is this strange notification that suddenly popped up, do I just accept it?”
“Yep, nothing particularly harmful will happen, so don’t worry.”
“Yes, got it. I believe in you.”
Jisoo’s index finger scanned the air.
[You have accepted your first party member. Would you like to share your skills?]
“Yeah.”
I nodded at the notification window.
[You do not currently have any skills. You cannot share skills with the party member.]
Am I supposed to have a skill to share?
If I share one skill with Jisoo, it seems to be a way of exchanging my skill for Jisoo’s skill.
‘It’s not like I’m not going to give her any skill. But I just don’t have any yet.’
Anyway, I had conscience.
Jisoo can share her stellar nature with me, but I can’t share any skills.
‘It would be good to share skills that will be helpful to Jisoo as much as possible.’
Just like nurturing fellow party members in an RPG, I wanted to give the skills that would be most helpful to Jisoo.
‘Then that would be best.’
Fortunately, I knew the skill that best suited Jisoo.
‘But it will take some time for me to learn it, so I’d have to delay sharing the skill first.’
There’s no need for me to be so impatient to get Thousand Deaths right now.
It would be convenient, but the first main quest was practically over.
pororon.
At that moment, I saw round eyeballs coming this way from the air.
It was the Observers.
‘That was close.’
Jisoo slaughtered a lot of goblins here, so it would be strange if they haven’t noticed it.
“Okay.”
Jonghyun Lee and the woman, who had fainted, finally showed signs of waking up.
“Oppa, what should we do now?”
“First, we should catch the scattered goblins.”
I killed the Hobgoblin, but that didn’t solve everything.
I just avoided the annihilation route.
Even the goblins scattered everywhere were enough to be a threat to the people here.
“Uh, huh? Aah!”
The moment Jonghyun Lee woke up and saw Jisoo, he screamed.
“Hey, Han Jisoo. What are you!!”
He looked quite frightened at Jisoo now.
“I prefer this look rather than your usual look.”
Jisoo seemed to really like Jonghyun’s reaction.
pororon.
The Observers hovered in the air, wanting to know what had happened here.
It didn’t feel very good to think that GM Acartus and the gods were watching through the Observers’ eyes.
“Hey.”
I called Jonghyun.
Jonghyun found me only then and turned his gaze.
“Uh, you, aren’t you that game junkie?”
“Yeah. Why were you here?”
“Hey, this bastard what you are…….”
The guy stuttered his words and tried to yell at me.
But he stopped saying and Jisoo threatened to.
“Answer Sehan Oppa’s question properly.”
Jisoo brought the rusty sword soaked in goblin blood to Jonghyun’s neck. Then he trembled like an electrocuted insect.
“Uh, uh! Okay! All right, please put the knife away!”
Seeing him like that, Jisoo smiled and looked up at me.
It’s a look that seemed to ask ‘Did I do a good job?’
‘….. This wasn’t the same personality I saw.’
Thanks to this, it was easier to speak.
I asked Jonghyun again.
“I’m asking again. Why were you here? Explain it properly.”
“That, that.”
Jonghyun rolled his eyes and looked at Jisoo next to me and stuttered.
“To scout……”
“To scout? with this woman?”
“That’s right. If one of us goes dies, the other has to run away.”
It was a docile answer for a guy who usually ignored me.
Maybe the Jisoo next to me looked scary, cold sweat dripped down my forehead.
‘They said they came to scout and fainted at the sight of Jisoo fighting.’
He must have been influenced by the Thousand Deaths fear effect, which means he must be a very weak guy.
It was embarrassing to know that I had been shy with this guy in my first round.
“Then that means there’s someone who’s ordering you to do these things. Since There’s no way you would volunteer to scout.”
“This fucker……”
Jonghyun’s face was distorted at my sarcastic remark, but when Jisoo’s knife came closer to his neck, he laughed like a clown.
“R-right. Haha, why would I volunteer to do this? My name was fucking pulled out of the hat.”
“Right.”
I could understand right away.
‘I don’t know who it is, but there’s someone who’s pulling people together and fighting the goblins right now.’
If he’s able to take lead of people so quickly, he was more likely to have had a certain authority before the game started.
There must also be leadership to lead people.
‘Thanks to you, I was able to escape in my previous life.’
It was good to build a defense line and stop the goblins, but the content of the quest is ‘Escape the University’.
It was obvious that they were all killed by the Hobgoblin and goblins that appeared later.
‘But this time it’s different.’
The Hobgoblin is dead.
And I haven’t gotten out of here yet.
“Lee Jonghyun.”
“Yes?”
“Guide me to the person who’s gathering and commanding the people.”
“Why?”
This time, there was a puzzled look on the boy’s face.
From his point of view, I was just a game junkie.
“You just need to guide me.”
“Is this bastard crazy!! You’ve been so demanding since earlier! Who Are you to tell me what to-!”
Jonghyun’s words did not continue to the end.
“Kyaaaak!”
Because a living goblin came out of the gaps between the corpses of the goblins that Jisoo killed.
There were sword wounds everywhere on its body, so it doesn’t seem like it will be able to live for long, but that made it look more horrifying.
“Hi-iik?!”
Jonghyun, who barely got up, took a step back and fell backwards.
“Kreuk, Kreuk.”
The goblin thought that Jonghyun was the weakest, so he rushed in with a half-broken sword.
“Kyaaaah! Kak?!”
Of course, I didn’t just look at it.
After tripping over the running goblin’s foot, I raised my foot and trampled the goblin’s head.
Kwajak!
The goblin’s head crumbled like a pastry, and green blood splashed all over Jonghyun’s face.
“Huh, huh.”
Jonghyun looked alternately at me and the goblin’s body, wondering what the hell just happened.
His eyes were filled with questions as to how I had enough strength to do such a thing.
Of course, I had no intention of answering his question.
“Just guide me quickly and quietly.”
Of course, Jonghyun’s head nodded without saying a word.
