Reverse X Trap - Chapter 5
The boy was still holding the fist of the toothpick guy and strengthened his hold until the toothpick guy cried in pain.
“OW! What the hell you guys waiting for?! Get him!” Barking orders to others, the other immediately surrounded them. The girls held each other close and stayed behind the boy. The boy merely smirk and cracked his knuckles.
“Ohoho, playing numbers game on me? Pathetic.”
“Shut up you!” One of the delinquents charged and immediately dropped down by the boy. Others wasted no time on attacking. The boy pushed the girls out of the way then he ducked and land a solid headbutt. Next he jumped and gave the other guys a roundhouse kick. Now, only the toothpick guy remained.
“It’s not even worth my warmup. Cih. Pathetic fools.” Said the boy in a bored tone. The toothpick guy and the girls were in shock. The toothpick guy quickly got himself together and pulled something from his pocket.
“You bastard! I won’t let you embarrass us like this! HAAH!!” He ran towards the boy. The taller girl noticed that the toothpick guy had a knife.
“Look out! He got a knife!”
“Huh?” the boy reacted quickly and sidestep. Then he chopped the guy down. Knocked him unconscious. The other delinquents slowly got up and got themselves glared by the boy. The boy slowly walked up to the closest guy.
“Take him away. Just so you know, this is my place. And you don’t mess with anyone especially girls on my watch. If I ever see you guys doing this again, you…are…DONE!” Screaming frantically the delinquents retreated. Sighing, the boy helped the injured girl up and checked if she was okay.
“Hey watch where you touching!” The injured girl glared because the boy tried to check her stomach.
“Ugh, I saved you and you got mad at me. Whatever, looks like you’re okay. Hey girlie, you okay?” The boy asked the taller girl who just stayed quite and she slowly answered.
“Ah! Um…thank you! You’re so cool! You are just like those shonen manga characters!” With a starry eyes full of admiration, the taller girl held both of her hands onto the boy’s. The boys a bit surprised by the sudden contact and looked away.
“Ah..eh…it was nothing. I just hate guys who treated girls that way. They have no shame. More importantly, why did you insult those guys? You know you’re getting yourself into trouble.” The boy scolded the injured girl who became angry.
“They’re hitting on us and it was so annoying! We already said no and they kept pestering us. I’m just stating the facts.”
“Well, we could just walk away you know? Hau, I’m sorry for making you hurt Asuna.” The taller girl apologized.
“It’s not your fault. And thank you, I suppose. You helped us. It could’ve been worse if you didn’t come.”
“Just to show those guys who owns this place. Hey, are you from Sanyou High?” Asked the boy to the taller girl.
“Yes, why do you ask?” She answered him and responded with another question.
“No, didn’t expect to see a student from that school in this area.”
“Ah, because we live nearby. We were just about to buy things for dinner.” Explained the taller girl.
“I see. Well, your phone’s ringing. I gotta go. Stay out of trouble okay?” the boy walked off before the taller girl stopped him.
“Wait! Can you tell me your name? My name is Asuka Nishikawa and this is my sister Asuna.” The boy looked back and spoke.
“Hoshizora. Jun Hoshizora. You can find me here most of the time. Oh yeah, next time don’t let guys take advantage of you. Sometimes you just have to stand up. Let them know you’re not afraid. But also remember when to know your place. Don’t spill gasoline into the fire.” Both of the girls(?) listened his advice intently.
“Okay! Thanks again, Hoshizora! Hope we can meet again!” Asuka cheerfully said to him. The boy smiled a bit and walked away. With his phone still ringing, Asuka answered it immediately.
“Hello?”
“Asuka! Are you okay? Where are you now? What happened?” It was Riku.
“I’m fine now. Asuna is okay too. We are near the diner area of shopping district.”
“Thank goodness! Well, I’m coming alright! Stay there!”
“Asuka!” A voice approached the Nishikawa siblings.
“Ah! Taku!”
“You okay? Are you hurt?”
“Asuna’s got hit by a delinquent, but I’m okay. It’s fine Riku. Taku’s here. We are going home.” Asuna answered Takuji’s question and responded to Riku.
“Okay, let Taku know that I’ll meet you at home. I’ll cook for you, just go straight home.”
“Eh? But we don’t have a supply to cook?”
“I’ll buy! You can repay me next time.”
“Hehe, thanks Riku. You are so kind.”
“Don’t mention it. Okay, see you.”
“Um.” Asuka closed the call and told Takuji about his conversation.
“I’ll walk you both home. In case something happen again.” Takuji offered but refused by Asuka.
“It’s okay. We should be safe. After all, there was a strong guy who helped us just now. He was so brave! Ah!” While holding his hands on his cheek, Asuka went into fangirl(?) mode. Asuna only sighed and Takuji still unconvinced.
“Are you sure? The delinquents could be back now that he is not here.”
“Don’t worry, they already ran towards the opposite directions. One of them got knocked out. They definitely should learnt their lesson.”
“Okay, if you say so. So, what kind of guy?”
“He is around my height. He was wearing a hoody. But from the looks of it, he is a highschool student.”
“How do you know, onii-chan?” Asuna asked.
“He wore a uniform under that hoody. I could see it for a moment. Ah! I forgot!” Asuka suddenly yelled.
“What is it?” Takuji surprised by his friend’s yell.
“I forgot to ask which school he went. There was no high school nearby. The closest is our school. But he said he owned this area.”
“Hmm, like a strong guy who beat up delinquents to teach them lesson and respect. Interesting guy. You’re lucky that you met him.”
“Ehehe. You can say that. Oh by the way, did you meet your classmate Taku?”
“Hah..no. He wasn’t home. And I don’t know if his address is his current address.”
While the friends were walking back home, in other place a boy was walking inside a house who looked abandoned. Once he entered the yard, he took a long look into his house. Eventually he came in. What welcomed him was silence.
“I’m home.”
