Reverse X Trap - Chapter 6

Jun went to a room that was supposed to be his bedroom. It was a complete mess and only an old damaged bed was there. He decided to check for food in the fridge, and there was nothing edible and some were already expired. Letting out a sigh, he went to bathroom and cleaned himself. Afterwards, he looked into the mirror. He saw his reflection. He let out a dry laugh everytime he did this. He dried himself and went back to his room and grab some clothes before pulling his jacket closer to cover his body. He tried to sleep, but his mind drifted to somewhere else. When he closed his eyes, he saw the face of the girl he saved today.

“My name is Asuka Nishikawa.” “Thank you for saving us!” “You are so cool!”

“That girl, Asuka wasn’t it? So she’s going to the same school as me. Pfft, it’s not like I care about going there.” He eventually slept, but shivered every now and then.

Next day…

“Oh, so there was no one there?”

“Yes sir. But according to the neighbor, usually there is someone enter the house at night. Maybe we could meet this person to confirm.” Takuji went to report about his visit yesterday to Enoshima-sensei and explained the situation.

“I suppose we can go there again. After all, I’m not busy today, so I can make it up for what happen yesterday. I’m really sorry, Tsuburaya.”

“It’s okay sensei. You don’t need to apologize. You did offer me today together.”

“Hahaha, that’s right. Well, wait for me after school at the gate.”

“Yes sir. Thank you.” Takuji went back to his class and was welcomed by Riku.

“Riku? Something the matter?”

“Ah, just wanna talk about what happened yesterday. So, may I?” Riku asked to sit next to Takuji and Takuji just nodded. Riku told Takuji everything that happened with Asuka and Asuna. Also about the boy that saved them. Takuji was told about it yesterday.

“So, I think that for the time being we should go home together. At least make sure Asuka isn’t alone.” Suggested Riku with determination on her eyes.

“I agree. Asuka is cute enough to attract perverts. Don’t worry, when you’re busy with club tell him to come to my class. We’ll go home together.”

“Haah, I wish I could go home with him all the time, but the regular selection match is coming much closer. I need to practice more to get into the squad.”

“Hey, Riku can’t I ask something?”

“Sure. What is it?”

“Did Asuka tell you the name of his savior?”

“Yeah he did. His name is Jun Hoshizora.”

“Pardon?” Takuji couldn’t believe his hearing. That was the name of the person he was looking for.

“Jun Hoshizora. Around Asuka’s height, wearing a hoodie, and quite a fighter. And also he said that Hoshizora was so cool. Haha, I bet he was.”

“Ohoho, is the prince jealous because your chance of saving the princess got snatched by a mysterious knight?” Takuji teased her a bit and Riku just laughed it off.

“Why would I?” She tilted her head and Takuji just sighed, but suddenly remember something.

“Jun Hoshizora. That’s the student I was about to visit yesterday. No wonder his house was empty, he was outside. But there is no way he lived ‘there’ right?”

“What do you mean?”

“You will see for yourself if you want to. I’m going there again with Enoshima-sensei. We could bring Asuka too.”

“Sounds great!” After that they agreed to meet again after school to go to Hoshizora’s house, but just before the school ended, a person went pass the school gate.

So I came eventually. I definitely didn’t come here to meet that girl again, but after that old lady next door approached me and said that someone from the school came to the house, that means they were looking for me. That’s why I come here. I don’t want to be seen going inside that house. No one should know!

This school is pretty big. I think the school is about to end.

Ah there’s the bell.

Right, this is such a bother. But better to finish it quickly.

Everyone left class almost immediately after the bell. Takuji quickly contacted both Asuka and Riku, and waited for them outside the classroom. Not long after that, they came made their way towards school gate and wait for Enoshima-sensei. On their way they met someone wearing a hoodie over their school uniform.

“Hoshizora?” Asuka called over to the person and the person looked up.

“Yo, Nishikawa.”

“What are you doing here? Are you picking up someone?” Asuka asked with a cheerful voice.

“Oh, actually I’m…”

“Hoshizora? As in Jun Hoshizora?” Before Jun could finish his sentence, he was cut off by Takuji. Jun looked very annoyed.

“So what if I am? Do I know you? I’m talking to girlie right now. Oh, are you her boyfriend?” He tilted his head a bit while expressing his annoyance. Takuji coughed and Asuka just went blushing. Riku chuckled while enjoying their conversation.

“First, you maybe not. Since we never met before. I’m actually looking for you yesterday. We are all actually about to go again together with Enoshima-sensei, but now that you’re here it’ll save time. Second, just a friend. Nothing more. Besides, the boyfriend is this guy.” Takuji answered Jun questions and pointed his thumb towards Riku, and her expression went from smiling to shocked in seconds.

“Wa wa wa wa, what are you saying Taku?”

“What the bro? How can I be the boyfriend?”

Both Asuka and Riku complained towards Takuji and Jun was surprised to hear that.

“I see. So you were looking for me. Do you even know where I live?”

“Well, I came to the address that I got from sensei. But the house looked abandoned, so I’m not sure if I was correct or not.”

“You got the right address. And the next door neighbor already told me about that. That’s why I came here today.”

“The school is already over though.” Riku interjected.

“Thank you for stating the obvious, Mr.boyfriend.” Jun rolled his eyes while giving a lazy reply.

“Just saying.” Riku shrugged.

“Guys, please calm down.” Asuka noticed the tension between the two and tried to calm them.

Both Jun and Riku stared against each other, and Riku suddenly offered a handshake.

“Thank you for saving Asuka yesterday. You’re a lifesaver.”

“No problem for me. But I don’t need your thanks. More like you should be ashamed of yourself for failing to protect your girlfriend.”

“Excuse me? I’m trying to be polite to you for saving my friend. You should stop being a jerk.”

“Well to be honest I don’t like you. You look like a guy who is popular among girls and like to toy with their feelings.”

“You don’t even know me, why are you suddenly judging me?”

“Whatever. I’ll see by myself if you’re the right person to be her boyfriend. Just you wait, tomorrow I will start coming and make sure you doesn’t play with other girls. Nishikawa.”

“Yes?” After exclaiming his resolve, Jun turned towards Asuka.

“Don’t worry. From now on, even if this guy and that guy not around, you can go home with me. I’ll make sure none of these lowlife trashes hurt you. And for all you so called boys, if you don’t like me you can come at me anytime. If anything, I prefer to do things man to man.”

“Thank you for your concern, but please don’t fight okay? I dislike violence and I don’t want anyone to get hurt. So promise me this and I will trust you.” Asuka put his hands on Jun hands and Jun nodded. The other boys who were watching glared at Jun but after listened what Asuka said and afraid that he would hate them, they held back. Riku looked unhappy and Takuji just sighed.

“Okay deal. And you, what’s your name?” Jun asked Takuji.

“Takuji Tsuburaya. Your class representative. I hope you keep your word. And let’s be friends from now on.”

“At least I could trust you. Okay, but don’t expect me to butter up to you.”

“Noted.”

“Good. Then I’ll see you all tomorrow, Nishikawa, and Mr.boyfriend.”

“Hm! See you!”

“Stop calling me that, and just go.”

“Hehe.” Jun turned his way and left the school.

“I’m happy that Hoshizora come to school. But I wish he would be nicer.”

“That guy is trouble, Asuka. Don’t get too close to him.”

“Haah, that saves us time. Gotta tell sensei about this.” Takuji informed Enoshima-sensei about what happened and Enoshima-sensei felt relieved. He said he would talked to Jun tomorrow and thanked the three of them for convincing him. The trio just nodded and confused because they felt they didn’t do anything. On his way home, Takuji walked alone after parting with Riku and Asuka. He stopped near a park, and turned his vision towards it. He then talked to himself.

“Well, my life has just getting more interesting.”
