Revolution System - Chapter 51
The golden Qi carried knowledge, a seemingly endless amount of it. Jim had to force himself to keep from fainting on the spot. Cultivation Techniques, Formations, Beasts, Pill Recipes. Everything was being seared into his mind. He somehow was barely able to hold on until the end. Once the stream of Qi stopped moving, all five pedestals crumbled.
Jim kept himself awake, but something happened before he could even think about the situation.
[Ancient Sura Inheritance Obtained – Peerless Genius Body Awarded]
[Initializing Reformation]
‘Wasn’t that really highly priced in the shop?’
Jim suddenly felt his muscles lose all strength, he began falling forward. Stretching out his arms to brace his fall, the instant his hands touched the floor, his arms melted. ‘Wha-‘ With nothing to brace his fall, the rest of his body slammed into the floor and he was reduced to a pile of liquid.
One week passed by, the still puddle on the floor of the ruins suddenly started quivering. Pulling closer together, it began to take shape. Slowly, the form of a nude man appeared, shining gold hair, deep emerald eyes, well defined muscles brimming with power.
[Reformation Complete]
“What…what happened?” A groggy Jim started coming to his senses. ‘Didn’t my arms…dissolve? Was that a dream? Wait, why am I naked?’ His body felt different somehow, he couldn’t quite place it. Pulling out a mirror, he checked himself over.
‘…Who the hell is that?’ The face reflected in the mirror wasn’t a plain faced man in his 40s. It was a young man in his early 20s with facial features so handsome he wouldn’t look strange as the lead in a hollywood film. No, there was an ethereal charm that transcended normal physical beauty, it was like the man in the mirror wasn’t even human.
Inspecting the rest of his body, the most shocking change was the point between his legs, it must have quadrupled in size. ‘I was average sized before…crap, is there someone who won’t run away in fear after looking at this thing?’
His height seemed to have increased. Jim started tripping over himself while walking, the sudden change in vision level disoriented him. ‘Am I a foot taller now? Let’s…check my stats’
[Qi: 23,712,538/23,712,538]
[Strength: 50,000]
[Dexterity: 50,000]
[Vitality: 50,000]
[Agility: 50,000]
‘Uh, what? Where’s my magic and spirit stats? Why are the rest so high?’ Forcibly calming himself, Jim attempted to get dressed, but had to do some tailoring work as his old clothes no longer fit. Leaving the ruins, he decided to test this new power by punching a nearby tree.
*Boom* Without using any skills, techniques, qi, it was a simple forward punch. The tree shattered, a shockwave exploded forth and destroyed the next 20 behind it, gouging out the ground underneath. ‘…I need to control this carefully, an accidental hand movement could destroy a house.’
Spending three days, Jim continued punching and kicking. He hadn’t sleep and didn’t feel tired in the slightest despite the constant movement. Once he became comfortable enough to not accidentally destroy his surroundings, he decided to continue exploring. He still hadn’t gathered enough herbs after all.
While looking around, he subconsciously knew that no interesting herbs would grow here. ‘Huh? Why can I tell that? Oh, The Sura Inheritance! Alright then, let’s put this to the test.’ Jim took to the skies with Lightning Drive and continued along, quickly searching the forest canopy and clearings with his eyes. ‘There!’
He dashed over to the place his mind reacted to. Sure enough, detection and herbalism both alerted him when he arrived. ‘Appraisal’
[Seven Star Herb – Quality: Good]
[Boosts Pill Effects]
That appraisal result was short and simple, but Jim’s mind pulled up a far larger amount of information when he caught sight of the herb. He new hundreds, thousands of recipes that could use this particular herb, exactly when to use it in pill refining, what not to mix it with. ‘This is…Amazing! Oops, sounding like Celes there.’
Jim headed south, the number of herbs were growing in number as he went along. Two days passed with no real change in scenery, just trees and more trees, a few hills here and there. Jim stretched Detection out again to see if anything interesting was nearby. ‘Oh?’ He noticed a small gathering of people not far to the east.
Xia had always rigidly held herself to a set of principles. Born into a poor family in a small mortal village. Her parents were single horns, but she was a mutant born without any. She was found to have spirit roots and was urged to cultivate. Unfortunately, her roots were of the lowest quality, the cultivation technique her parents had saved up for and purchased when she was a child went to waste in her hands.
10 years passed before she was able to reach Early Foundation. As the simplest and quickest point to reach in cultivation, taking 10 years to reach it was a clear sign she would never reach high at all. Despite knowing this, she persisted. It wasn’t out of a misconception that she could be the best, she just didn’t want to give up.
Years of bloody struggle had carved numerous scars upon her body. She had reached Peak Foundation but just couldn’t seem to break through to Qi Refinement.
Now, she was in a terrible situation. Taking a job to work as a porter for a Mid Spirit Warrior Cultivator named Chuan. the job seemed fine, but they happened to come across an Immortal Silver Fox in the middle of nowhere. Her employer immediately wanted to kill and eat it, but her character wouldn’t allow her to just stand by as it happened, even though she knew saving the fox was impossible, even though she knew she would surely die trying.
Xia: “I won’t back down.”
Chuan: “Hornless bitch, did you forget who hired you? Do you really think you can steal my meal?”
Xia: “You can’t do this, I won’t allow it!”
Chuan: “Not like you can do anything, taste my blade!”
Jim had arrived in time to get a basic understanding of the situation. ‘Why is everyone obsessed with eating foxes? I don’t get it.’
