Re:write The Authors Transmigration - Chapter 46: An important clue
Chapter 46: An important clue
Within the borders closing through the Eastern District a man and an elderly, we’re running with all their might. There weren’t any signs of a figure following their tail yet these two were frightened and managed to find shelter. The abandoned warehouse felt so eerie yet they chose to stay rather than remain in the open
“Hey, have you heard about this particular story? They said that in the Eastern District, there were a ton of sightings of the Grim reaper,” The Elder spoke a tale for them to pass the time before their comrades were to arrive
“What’s the origin of the name?” Said the man upon his successful attempt at creating a fire
“Recently there’s been a lot of sightings of corpses lying around in every part of the Eastern District. What’s more, a Robed figure is sighted every time it occurs and many speculate it as such. Why exactly? It was because of the unimaginable power it possesses,”
“Doesn’t that sound like any serial killer? What’s the difference between this story and the rest,” The man brushed off his feelings of fear when he denied the elder’s tale bone-chilling tale
“The thing is whenever the Grim reaper was said to have its body faded away into nothingness. The other one was the ability to manifest a blinding mist and yet it does not affect the reaper. What’s more, the reaper wasn’t alone, many said that it was accompanied by a pale-looking spirit that resembles a little girl,” Before he could finish his tale the two heard a crunching noise on their side
When they face the direction of the noise, they catch a glimpse of a robed figure munching on some popcorn. “I gotta say, you have a knack for storytelling, old man. Since you’ve already heard of my story, I guess it’s unnecessary to say my motives. Ahem… the Grim reaper has come to collect the souls of you sinners!”
The Elder grabbed his weapon hidden within his clothing and swung it to his neck. “Arrogant little prick, do you think I’ll let you kill me without a fight!!!”
“Sheesh! You have no chill for an old geezer… I heard it’s bad for your age to be this stressed. Can you just let me kill you? It’s better than struggling and spending the remainder of your days in pain,” With so little effort on his side, Morris managed to stop the elder’s sword and negated its fullest strength
The two of them begin a brawl with one another to decide who dies and the one who’ll survive. The Elder’s sword style was unpredictable and overwhelmed him to a degree where he would’ve perished with the simplest mistake. But for that to happen was easier said than done, his training was not in vain and he viewed a new set realm apart from magic
[System: The player Christoper Morris had continuously flowed the stat [Chi] to a certain body part]
The reason for his survival is the circulation of his Chi surging into his eyes and further enhancing its capability. In doing so he perceives the Elder’s attack and dodges everything targeting the end of his life. Once he grew weary of such a battle, he puts all of the data he gained through his fight into play
“Haste,” Morris took a step back before he responded with Elder’s attack that aimed at his chest
Next was his right shoulder to his left before it shifted to aim for his legs. He countered every thrust until he broke the stability of his opponent before he ended it with a horizontal swing. His attack tore through the elder’s stomach and his innards were free to gaze upon the world
[System: Your knowledge concerning martial arts has greatly increased due to the improvement in the player’s footwork]
“Do you think you’ll get out of this place alive!? My men will soon arrive and surround the whole building… there’s no way you’ll bluarghh!!!” The Elder vomits a ton of blood while his pulse shortly fades away
“The question you should be asking is how did I even get here…? and he’s dead. I hate it when they won’t even let me finish my words. Fucking disrespectful. Oh, looks like the three of you are done?” He killed the last surviving hiding behind the shadows and along his way, he met with his familiar along with his slave
[System: You’ve killed a player! The collected experience will now be given]
“Master im hungry,” Quon approached him completely drenched in blood, and following her was the tantrum of her belly
[Would you look at that she’s able to cast the same spells without a single chant? I guess her passive skill ‘Intelligence’ played a big part in her results. But this level of growth is unbelievable! She’s far too similar to those two]
‘The fact that she only learned three skills is my biggest concern… She killed all of them with Magic orb, Wave, and Freeze. I’m impressed. I guess the overall rating wasn’t joking, she is a genius,’
“It’s a bust, I can’t believe the only threat was an Elderly man. Our 14th massacre and they’re not even related to the Mad alchemist. Never mind it’s only the fourth day of our patrol. I say murdering a ton of people on 14 different bases is good enough. I haven’t seen any changes to the disaster gauge,” They began to make their escape after they killed every single one of them
[Disaster gauge: 7%]
[Do you think they notice our move? they haven’t been doing anything else]
[Ding!]
[System: You have one unread message!]
‘Hold on a second I received a message from my Dm… It must be the other members. Never mind it’s just Blake. I’ll open it later,’ Vissit novelbin(.)c.𝒐m for updates
[System: You’re gaining an increase in your movement for a while!!! The effects will disappear once all of the circulated [Chi] has been used]
“So Quon what do you want to eat? Sushi, meat, vegetables…? We need to regroup with the rest. Before that, we need to restore our strength,” Morris leaps from one building to another while he carries her on his back
“I want some bread and milk,” Quon quickly replied and he change his path to the Eastern district’s busiest market
[They weren’t joking when they said this was the most overpopulated area amongst all the other districts. Watch out for thieves. They might pick your pockets]
“That’s why I have the System, it’s the safest place to store a person’s currency. Excuse me madam do you have everything that’s on my list?” Morris approached one of the stalls that sell multiple items while he waits for his groceries
“That will be 50 tokens,” The owner said and he gave her the money after he checked everything in his bag
“Give me my food!!!”
“Just wait until we arrive back at our base,” Morris proceeded with his path toward their next destination
This led the two of them to an abandoned house, which they entered at the back of the door. When they open the door a clean and comfortable atmosphere awaits their return. The outward appearance made it the perfect place for their base and thus they chose this building
“Hey, Jin we’re back! Quon, I think he can’t hear me. Can you check the basement while I make our dinner?” Morris placed the ingredients in the kitchen while Quon started her journey toward the basement
[Oh you’re going to make that food your always talking about? I can’t wait to see it]
Down she goes to the basement that was unlike anything that she has experienced. The whole room was rigged with an illusion spell making anyone else be tricked by its ability. It altered the room’s shape along with its path would easily mislead them back to the start
Most of the tunnel would lead to a dead-end, making anyone easily quit while they’re ahead. But she was different, she could sense the Mana which is responsible for preserving this endless maze. Once she was certain, Quon chose the path that had less flow of Mana compared to the others. It led her towards a warm and narrow room with the sound of a hammer colliding with a chunk of metal in each passing second
[Thats it Jin. Just a little closer and you’ll be able to craft the item… don’t rush the process, and slowly hammer it until it formed the shape]
[System: The player Jin Kurenai has activated his blessing!!!
[Master builder]: Grants the wielder a higher level of control over one’s body while increasing the overall talent in forging]
“Blacksmiths rage!!!” Jin pulled every remaining strength inside his body to hammer down the enormous chunk of metal
It created a shockwave that overwhelmed Quon and she hide behind the door waiting until he finishes his newly created masterpiece
[Nameless – A hammer created by the Blacksmith Jin it contains it contains the creator’s hard work and dedication
Rarity: Uncommon
Attack damage: 65
Durability: 100
(Ability 1) Weight manipulation – The user can manipulate the weight of the hammer by applying the required Mana
(Ability 2) Enlarge – The hammer can grow bigger making its durability and power stronger than its original form]
[We succeeded in creating another one]
‘It’s stronger than my first creation. To think that we’re able to craft uncommon weapons in the early stages of the story. Oh, looks like Morris’s little helper was watching the whole time,’
“Quon has come to fetch you,”
*Stomach grumbles*
“That smell… no way. Did he recreate that? With the ingredients inside the trials, it’s not impossible. Let’s go, Quon, we’re gonna have a feast,” Jin carried her on their way to the kitchen table while the others that arrive were tied to the table
“Boss, hurry It up I’m starving!!!”
“I can understand why Kyo’s tied up, but why am I getting the same treatment as him?” Esther tries to escape from the rope while her view shifts to the entrance seeing Jin along with Quon
‘Esther Lander’s… the dead side character and Morris’s first design for the heroine, along with Kyo min soo the character that didn’t get his debut. Most of the characters the main character met had a tale or two in their encounters with him,’
“Why are you tied up? Hmm, have you forgotten about the time when you have eaten this before, and it wasn’t completely cooked? It was medium-rare. Who the hell eats a burger patty that’s not entirely cooked, oh you guys arrived at the perfect time. Dinner is served by yours truly,” Morris walked toward the table with a plate full of burgers each for everyone that arrived
He released the rope around Esther and Kyo and the four of them enjoyed their meal. Morris on the other hand was immersed in Blake’s message that solved one of the mysteries he’d been dealing with.
“Everyone I found the most important part of this trial, it looks more complicated when I piece the information I got from Blake. It looks like there’s an Npc that’s helping Deniro’s followers with their kidnapping. He gave me a few names and all of us will split into two groups. We’re going undercover in the morning and patrolling at night… oh looks like our last member arrived welcome Yoona,”
