“God damn it! What the hell is with this shitty game, no wonder only a few people could beat this shitty game,” Morris was about to throw his phone after he rages on about the game’s unbalanced mechanism
After he retained his composure even after his rage overwhelmed his body he sat down and started brainstorming a way to clear the game. In his struggle to use his experience to gain an understanding of weaponry for his novel, along with his struggles he came up with a plan. That later earned him a Title that was recorded inside the game for anyone to admire
‘Shielders have the greatest survivability but have the lowest damage, Assassins can kill most of the mobs with a hit or two yet they’re squishy as hell. Ranger sucks at close combat and Melee has no way of winning a fight with a Ranger. There’s also the Spearman, Hammer wielders, Healers, and lastly, Mages, all of them have something the others lack. Wait a minute what if there’s a way for a character to have them all?’
Back to the present
[System: You’ve successfully parried the attacks you’ve activated the passive ability of a Shield Deflect]
“What’s wrong are you a little overwhelmed by that blow? Should I fetch you a nurse you might be injured,” Morris taunted him right after he parried his attack that was selected right after sending Deniro to the same fate he received being pushed back into a corner by a powerful attack
“Man that attack sure as hell would take my life if I didn’t dodge that ram at the right time. Are you surprised that I’m the one who came out of the smoke? That fool might as well be a genius but he forgot the duration of possession, in his stead I’ll finish what he started along with your end,” Theodore created a horse of Homunculi that made their way for the ruins of that their battle had created their bodies were mutated to the point where they were giving him a hard-fought battle that was slowly draining him of his stamina
[System: the player Christopher Morris has activated the skill Mirage, creating a clone of himself that possess his stats along with his skill]
Morris created a Mirage where it copied his previous choice and conjured another and another one came to be standing upon the battlefield. Four copies and One original coordinated attacks along with their tricks of sending their attackers to the original for him to parry their attacks this deflecting them until he damages them for him to Unsheathe his sword that he hid inside his inventory shredding the Homunculi into a new. He was at a disadvantage not so long ago, but once he changes his staff into a shield things turned in his favor seeing this development firsthand
“That shield is the problem all I need to do is to break it apart, it was able to parry and deflect even the Homunculus that I created. Those monsters that I painstakingly created just to overwhelm him only to fail me. Well not anymore, Christopher Morris. I acknowledge that you can hold yourself after all of the things that came in your way, this I see why the Author chose you as his pawn. Yet a pawn is no less than his master, whether you learn the most powerful spells nor you possess the most powerful healing item that’s currently available in this story you won’t live to see the day that all of your efforts were put. Since you were already destined for death, so why not join me for my cause I’ll forget about this whole thing as long as you tell me of the Authors location,”
Theodore dispersed his troops and entered the battlefield he tried to persuade him thinking that Morris offered himself salvation which he took as a way for him to win him over to his side. He didn’t respond only to his actions showed that he understands his intent he didn’t hesitate to drop his weapon and slowly make his way through the ruins to his side
Theodore thought that he would swear his allegiance after he coated his words with hope for his survival only for his guard to be lowered to the point where Morris use the body of his Mirage that was hiding behind him to be a catalyst to unleash a concentrated Shock. That paralyzed him for a second longer that was enough time for him to inject a serum that was made by Alexis to neutralize his ability to ward off any sort of drugs that would fall into his body
He used the remaining time to inject a liquidized Feijin flower that lessened his ability to heal his wounds before he utilizes his Mirage reflecting Theodore’s attack with the shield he purposely dropped to gain his trust for a second. For his plans to take effect on his opponent seeing his plan succeed even if the stakes were high that he could lose his life which ultimately ended their bet he escaped with not only harming his opponent but neutralizing his ability to nullify any sorts of status ailments that may plague his body
“Do you think that just because you’ve read his work, you could decide whether I live or die? That’s not how it works and while we’re on the subject of this matter. Are you curious about my knowledge? You said it to yourself he might have told me all of this, but are you sure that was the case? Or is it that I came into this world, knowing of its fate, even if we have the same origin I do know of the location of the Author if you wish to know then come at me,”
He taunted him to attack Theodore’s reasoning was forgotten after he reassured him that he knows of the location of the Author something that he was after a person that he wanted to meet was shrouded in a veil of mystery that was unknown to him yet the one standing before him. Knowing the identity of the person he wanted to meet he didn’t hesitate to attack after he was close to his goal he took Morris’s bait without any second thoughts leaping from his location and building momentum along the wag before he swings his fist to his opponent yet it was different from before he’s power was increased due to the mutation that was growing stronger by the second. He’s fists were stopped by a wall of Ice that slowly lessen its force along with its impact making it easier for Morris to counter it with his attack
[System: You’ve injected the required amount of Mana to activate Option 1 of your staff, Weapon property conversion]
“Nice punch how about I let you taste my own,” His staff which shifted to a Shield became a Gauntlet that was injected with a ton of Chi which enhances its power that was enough to create a shockwave within their battlefield. Before he knew it Theodore was in a state where he can no longer dodge after his body remained in the sky he had not a single thing for him to step into which leads to his most vulnerable condition
[System: You’ve activated the passive ability of a Spear penetration, youre attacks can ignore a percentage of the defense of your target]
Without any kind of warning, he was impaled by a Black spear that made him realize his condition, his opponent’s weapon was draining his Mana which Morris used to change his weapon to another manifestation. Even after he was drained of his Mana the mutations that he was controlling burst unleashing the sealed power hidden within the seed of gluttony he consumed. Which turned his body into a variant of a demon that was able to wield the power he was keeping in check along with its downside. The insatiable hunger he had control over was revolting within his body making his reasoning blurry and making him comparable to a savage beast
‘Shit, the Gluttony core he acquired from dissecting all of those infected that has a fragment of that power is changing him to a monster. I never thought that he would use it even using one ability of a Sin is comparable to a Blessing yet he’s trying to tap into the full extent of the seed. This was already hard, to begin with, and now I’ll have to fight him in my current condition,’
Morris called forth one of his available Familiar after he witnessed the transformation of his opponent that was brimming with a suffocating Aura along with the murderous intent that was seething from his body. His speed was unpredictable to the point where his image was blurry after he move from one place to another, even with that power his body succumbed to the influence of the Sin. He could only think about the uncontrollable desire he had to devour everything in his way, which made his movement relentless he would aim for Morris’s head to his arm after he would tried to slice off his legs. He already knew it was a pointless struggle if he would let his attack continue for it to finally hit his body he placed his life in the hands of his Blessing
[System: the player Christopher Morris has activated his Blessing True sight, giving him access to a vast amount of optical abilities]
Apart from his ability to learn about his opponent’s weaknesses at the cost of his bleeding eye, he could also use it as a means of predicting his enemy’s movement. His vision was fixed at a speed that let him discern the movement of everything that was around his range of sight, he could see Theodore’s location along with a detailed description of his condition. After he leaps from one stone he is already prepared to swing, yet he wasn’t able to perfectly time his thrust, making his remembrance aid him in his most recent challenges. He remembered the exact flow of time which differs from the vision that lets him see the image of his speeding opponent
[System: the player Christopher Morris has activated the skill Radiant footwork Charging momentum, which increases the player’s attack by performing a set of footwork]
Morris swung his Spear while Theodore showed his claws which resulted in a clash between their strength which created a crater in the city that they turned into ruins. As the smoke dispersed the two of them remained standing, Morris fell into the range of his claw that shredded his upper and lower body to the point where he couldn’t take another hit. While Theodore had his chest pierced until a hole was visible to the naked eye, both sides were unable to go any further than what they can handle. Their body was no longer capable of unleashing their skills which
“Get up. Didn’t you hear what I said? This isn’t over till one of us dies, and it ain’t going to be me,” Theodore threw a starter sword at his location as they can no longer muster the strength to wield their own, making them make use of the lightweight weapons they acquire from the tutorial
[Can you keep going?]
Morris slowly picks up his body, and he reached for the sword while he treks toward his opponent’s pointing the sword that he received from the reader. That gave him a fair amount of time to prepare for their finale against each other
“You’ll regret your choices of giving me the time to reach this sword,”
