Rich President, Don’t Marry Me - Chapter 12
Due to Fu Jinchen’s especially gentle tone, Yang Duoduo shyly lowered her head. However, Chu Liang looked at her worriedly.
Although she didn’t know what kind of scheme Fu Jinchen was plotting, she definitely wouldn’t tolerate him bullying her friends!
“Roger.” Fu Jinchen tilted his head and took a glance. “Has the editor of Cheng’an Daily arrived?”
Roger took out his cellphone and took a look at it before replying, “I’m on my way to Fu Yi Group.”
Chu Liang’s body stiffened and he frowned. Cheng’an Daily’s words were part of the Jane Xin Group’s property. This editor wouldn’t sell her out right?
Fu Jinchen nodded, glanced at Chu Liang, and said to Roger, “Chu Liang, you can come with me. You can go back to work.”
“Yes.” Roger nodded slightly, turned around and left the 21st floor in the elevator.
Chu Liang winked at Yang Duoduo before pushing Fu Jinchen to the elevator.
In the enclosed space, Fu Jinchen could barely breathe as he leaned on the handle of the wheelchair with one hand. He raised his eyes and said, “Chu Liang.”
“Here.” Chu Liang nodded and looked to Fu Jinchen, “What orders does Master Fu have?”
Fu Jinchen looked at Chu Liang with a puzzled expression. “I feel that something is amiss with your condition today.”
Fu Jinchen’s words reminded Chu Liang. He immediately shook his head, tidying up his expression, “Director Fu, I did not.”
“Un …” Fu Jinchen rubbed his chin and pondered for a moment before chuckling. “Is it because I didn’t give you breakfast?”
At the mention of breakfast, Chu Liang lowered his head and couldn’t help but touch his stomach.
Hearing him say this, he felt a little hungry.
Seeing Chu Liang’s careless movements, a trace of surprise flashed across Fu Jinchen’s eyes. He raised his brows and the corners of his mouth curled upwards.
Things seemed to be getting interesting.
Soon, Chu Liang brought Fu Jinchen to the coffee shop on the first floor. At a seat near the window, a middle-aged man in casual clothes was sitting there as he stared at his notebook with rapt attention.
“Editor-in-Chief Li Cheng’an?” Li Chengan raised his head and looked over. He immediately stood up and bowed slightly to Fu Jinchen, “Hello, CEO Fu.”
Fu Jinchen nodded and smiled to Li Chengan. “Please take a seat.”
Li Chengan sat down at his original seat. Fu Jinchen glanced at the computer he had brought with him, and only saw his desktop.
Chu Liang observed the atmosphere and walked towards the front desk. After a while, he came back with two cups of coffee.
Fu Jinchen shot Chu Liang an approving glance. After drinking a mouthful of coffee, he opened his mouth and asked, “Does Editor-in-Chief Li know why I’m looking for you?”
Li Chengan’s body stiffened as he smiled at Fu Jinchen. “I seem to already know this.”
Fu Jinchen raised an eyebrow and spoke straightforwardly, “Speak. Who gave the orders?”
Li Cheng’an was silent for a moment, but didn’t say anything.
Fu Jinchen placed his coffee cup on the table, stared at Li Chengan and said seriously, “I know that even if you don’t open your mouth, this matter is definitely related to the short term.”
Hearing this, Li Cheng raised his head to look at Fu Jinchen and shook his head, “That’s not it. We just received an anonymous email, which was why we sent the first-hand news. Later on, I heard that many daily newspapers received that email.”
“Oh?” Fu Jinchen looked suspiciously at Li Chengan and asked, “What are you going to use to prove what you just said?”
Li Cheng opened his mailbox and opened up an email. Then, he turned his computer screen to Fu Jinchen.
Fu Jinchen carefully examined the contents of the email, but his frown only deepened.
Although Chu Liang was standing behind Fu Jinchen, he was still nervous. Cold sweat broke out on his palms.
“Chu Liang.” Fu Jinchen’s sudden words startled Chu Liang. When he returned to his senses and saw Fu Jinchen’s probing gaze, Chu Liang immediately stopped panicking.
“What happened to Director Fu?”
“Take a look at this email.” Fu Jinchen raised his chin and said, “Sit.”
Chu Liang glanced at Li Chengan, then thanked Fu Jinchen before carefully sitting down beside him.
After Chu Liang finished reading the contents of the email, he heaved a sigh of relief. Luckily, the photo that the anonymous reporter sent over also showed that he had been beaten up.
However, Fu Jinchen’s next sentence left Chu Liang on the verge of collapse, “Send me this email. I need to find a technician to eliminate the mosaic.”
Fu Jinchen looked at Li Chengan and said. Li Chengan nodded, then he gave a dry cough in embarrassment, “Actually …”
“Hmm?” Fu Jinchen raised his eyes to look at Li Chengan and said, “Feel free to speak.”
“There is one thing that I did not tell Boss Fu.” Li Chengan hesitated and said, “Actually, it’s different from the other newspapers. Cheng’an Daily also received an audio.”
Audio? Fu Jinchen’s eyes lit up. “Let me hear it.”
Li Cheng’an nodded his head and retrieved the audio file from his computer. Before he could open it up to say anything, Fu Jinchen made a silent gesture.
Li Cheng’an didn’t say anything as the words reached his mouth, but his face gradually turned red.
Chu Liang also curiously went closer, and the first syllable that came out of the audio was actually the breathing of a man.
“Un …”
Chu Liang lowered his head and touched his face. The temperature was gradually increasing and he had almost been burned.
Fu Jinchen was stunned when he heard this voice. He looked towards Li Chengan, but Li Chengan turned his head and looked out of the window.
“Boss Fu, I didn’t mean to offend you, it’s just that I was curious about the source of the news, so I clicked on it … “Actually, I wanted to remind you to wear earphones just now.”
Fu Jinchen quickly realized that this was audio from that night in his bed.
“Who are you!” Amidst her panting, the woman’s flustered voice suddenly rang out. Fu Jinchen immediately pressed the pause button, frowning deeply.
“Is this a legend?”
Li Chengan nodded. Fu Jinchen pondered for a moment before rubbing his chin and muttering, “She is a key figure.”
Now, only by finding the female lead would he be able to figure out what had happened that night and who was the mastermind behind the plot.
Fu Jinchen pressed down the play button once again. After all sorts of heart-rending and heartbreaking sounds, the man spoke in a soft and magnetic voice.
“I’m sorry.”
Fu Jinchen could tell that it was his own voice, but he couldn’t think of any reason why he would apologize to that woman.
The audio frequency gradually reached a high point. Chu Liang recalled his own exclamation and immediately pressed the pause button, reminding him in a low voice:
“Director Fu, let’s put on the headphones.”
“There’s no need.” Fu Jinchen made a gesture to stop Chu Liang’s movements, “There’s no need to continue listening.”
Chu Liang instantly heaved a sigh of relief. Fu Jinchen suddenly let out a soft laugh.
“I already know who it is.”
