Rise Ethereal Essence - Chapter 14
The Dark Essence hovered over the land continuously using the Sundering Rifts power.
The Sundering Rifts split matter as it passed through the land. It did that to keep the internal matter away from the external matter and severing it from the world.
The space inside the Dark Essence was full. Everything other than matter could be said to be dark matter.
It took the different substances of matter and organized them.
The Dark Essence had separated the substances within the space into different categories. At the moment it only had simple categories, Stone, Dirt, Liquiform, Plants, Air, and Lifeless. These were the temporary categories for substances until more were discovered.
The Dirt category originally belonged with stone, but after observing the different properties of the dirt, the Dark Essence made it a new category.
The Lifeless category was also new. That category contained the elements of plants and trees that had perished with bark, leaves, stems, and branches.
The other categories all contained their similar properties.
Stone category contained boulders, rocks, and sand.
Dirt category contained clay, soil, and dirt.
Liquiform category contained water, sap, resin, and plant oil.
Plant category contained grass, trees, moss, algae, and herbs.
Air category contained the atmospheric air of the world and evaporated water.
Lifeless category contained dead plants and trees.
After observing the substances and playing around with them a bit, the Dark Essence saw some areas where it could be improved within the space.
It observed certain substances more. The form of sand, dirt, and water seemed to be excellent. They were formless and airy.
The Dark Essence saw more convenience in having substances at a molecular level than its different forms, those of bulky volume and weight.
The Dark Essence changed its inner form. It had already shrunk its body once, and after that experience, the Dark Essence found that it could change not only size but its shape.
It was going to attempt the change. It maintained its external thirty-meter size while extending sheets containing Sundering Rifts. The sheets separated the substances into subdivisions.
It was relatively easy to separate each substance as the Sundering Rifts could separate most of the matter it had encountered so far.
With the categories all separated, a few sheets containing the principles of Sundering Rifts passed through the subdivisions except the ones with Plants and Lifeless category. The Dark Essence kept their form so as to maintain their life.
The sheets of Sundering Rifts were like sifters making the matter buoyant. The sheets passed through a few times completely transforming the substances into granules.
The Dark Essence pushed the changed substances with the sheets. The substances moved around similar to water and sand, free-flowing every which way.
If the matter hadn’t already accommodated with the dark matter within the space, it would’ve been a different story. With the two combined together they canceled their pressure allowing the Sundering Rifts free pass as it changed the substances.
The Dark Essence had a sudden revelation seeing all these occurrences. The creation of centers! Those elves created their own significant places to reside. “I should form something of my own. The elves have their own formation for creating centers after they are born. Constructing or assembling something, I’ll do that!”
With an idea in mind, the Dark Essence went into work mode!
It altered the form of the Dirt category subdivision, creating something similar to a mold resembling the form of a tree. It chose the Dirt category because it could be molded and stay in shape, unlike sand or water.
The tree-shaped subdivision shrunk compressing the Dirt. Everything within it clay, soil, and dirt took on the shape of the tree mold. It wasn’t too amazing having no individual parts like leaves, branches, roots, or stems. It was only a trunk and the crown.
The mold was around seven meters tall and two meters wide.
For a first time, it was definitely amazing enough. It was like a tree symbol.
“Pah, this mold is lame. It has no detail and no uniqueness. It should also be much bigger! I need more!” The Dark Essence dissatisfied with its results undid the mold with a sheet of Sundering Rift. Its first creation had to be comparable to those trees the elves called their centers.
The Dark Essence went back to experimenting. What it needed now was to create more room within the ‘space.’
After a bit of contemplation, an answer sprouted in its mind. Compression! If it compressed the matter, space would be made for the collection of more.
It used the Sundering Rifts to compress the matter and make it smaller. The matter shrunk relatively well but encountered a problem when it became too small. The pressure from the compression was too much for the substances, and they ended up dissolving within themselves creating something like a mini explosion.
The explosion hit the Sundering Rifts wiping out their power, and the matter disintegrated.
“Whats with this useless matter, can’t even get small when it needs to.” The Dark Essence needed to take a chill pill.
After trial and error, the Dark Essence finally found a resolve. Stacking! Almost half of the matter in the thirty-meter space was gone after the trial and error.
It piled the sheets of Sundering Rifts creating an impassable wall. No substances would be able to surpass the sheets now.
The many thin sheets compressed the subdivisions once again.
This time the different substances were compressed to the size of a golfball. The density was concentrated and solid. If one was thrown to the ground, it might cause considerable damage.
There were only three of them, but all had different amounts of density since some had more matter than others. The three golfball sized substances were called Opaque Orbs.
These Opaque Orbs were Liquiform, Air, and Stone substances. The Air orb was cloudy and spherical with a mist within. The Liquiform orb was Translucent with different tinges from the various plant liquids. The Stone orb was grey and rough.
The space within the Dark Essence was cleared of most matter, it looked towards the subdivisions holding the Plants and Lifeless category substances. If it wanted to create more room, it would have to compress those too or let them go. A tree could be found anywhere anyways within this world.
Without putting much thought into it, the Dark Essence shred the Plants and Lifeless subdivisions into molecules, then proceeded to compress it. It didn’t observe the changes within them and continued until they were Opaque Orbs too.
Now it had five Opaque Orbs. The last two were different from the rest. Around them was a strange fog that was like an aura. The Lifeless orb seemed deep, sucking you in and was surrounded by a clear aura-fog. The Plant orb was a beautiful green and brown orb with a colorful ten-colored fog.
The Dark Essence took the orbs and put them in a separate subdivision for Opaque Orbs. Now that it had successfully completed the important task of creating space, it had to start absorbing more matter.
…
The god messengers were passing through the air like bullets. They were after a trail in the air of distorted space. It was a trail made by the division of matter as the Dark Essence passed.
Soon they’d be within reach of the culprit. The Light messenger spoke in a displeased voice, “Whatever individual left that destruction is creating an obvious footmark.”
“I’ve never known other creatures were so gullible to even leave behind evidence of their passing. Whoever is doing this will have their deserved punishment.” The Twilight messenger voiced its opinion. Soon they would find who was behind the destruction and displacement of the lake area and Atmospheric Air.
The messengers were following the trail but couldn’t go fast. They had to fix it as they passed slowing them down. If they left the sky torn the way it was they didn’t want to imagine what might happen to the rest of the world.
“It just concerns me, why is this trail so wide. It might really be an individual from a neighboring planet, possibly like us.” The Light messenger spoke with discomfort unsure if it should be concerned about its size.
“Even if it is the size of a huge tree we will have to stop that individual.” Although the Twilight messenger thought the same as the Light messenger there was not much they could do before an entity like The Crystal Tree. They were born from it and had a responsibility of their own, just like the rest of the creatures in this world.
