Rise From Modern To Fantasy! - Chapter 11
“Nothing.”
“Are you sure the signal is around here did you calculate the trajectory sequence properly maybe it was off by a couple of-?”
“Do you want to do my job your more than welcome to if you think you can do better.”
Two voices rang over the com-link within a larger hovering aircraft than the G2E9 specify within the c.o.c.kpit of the vehicle, this vehicle wasn’t just larger than the G2E9. Looking at it from the outside it was also visibly more heavily armored and was more packed with an array of different weapon system that decorated its hull. Its engines ripped loudly in the air as it speed through the air through the cloudless bright sunny sky as they have depart into towards it unknown destination.
Yin Yue who was half listening in on the chat happening in the c.o.c.kpit while currently sitting down on the various side seats of a large cargo area of the ship, it was a vast open space typical for a ship of its size but it also hinted to the vast emptiness of the ship due spacious modular cargo bay system design. Most of her attention was on the tablet that was in her hand and the pure white WarFrame armor in front of her. She was checking on her equipment running a scan on her now repaired armor though its armor plates still bears the starches and dents from the recent battle it was in recently. Before her sights trailed off the tablet and was glancing around the cargo bay.
Hwei-ru with her heavy Servo-Harness strapped on her back working on the suit on the metal panel floor next far away from where she was seated. The multiple tool arms whirling around her body like snakes or spider legs, mending anything she could find on the WarFrame Suit the torch blaring sparks as she worked. The heat radiating off the torch caused streams of sweat from her forehead which trailed down her b.a.r.e upper body skin glittering in the blaring light of the torch.
There were others in within the brightly lit cargo area as there was no windows to allow sunlight in with her a handful dozen others in the same over sized HAIAN Model FBF-04 Riot Gear, each of them was checking their equipment and gear talk was minimal between them as they tend to their task at hand. After a few seconds after pulling tugging at their now c.u.mbersome uniforms they started to strip some components of the suit off. Resulting themselves in a more exotic appearance due to them stripping down and exposing lots of their skin to the world. After which they resumed checking their other equipments without a care in the world and no one around the area even bothered to criticize them for their actions, leaving their discarded uniform bits upon the clean steel floor panels. Though surely this would have caused more problems but with the lack of anything but them in the area have equipment just laying around seemed not that important.
An Ocean-Blue color scheme Warframe suit deactivated, lying stationary along the floor like her own suit and was surely locked onto the floor, the Fail Not was on the other side of the cargo bay across the area of Yin Yue. Its pilot the British representative Elite Ailsa Smith was standing next to it examining details on a similar looking tablet much like the one in Yin Yue’s own hands. Ailsa Smith was not in a much better state than the rest of the crew here, her upper body was b.a.r.e except for the strap around her twin hills which jiggled with each movement. Her light blue eyes was clam yet focused while her long, light blonde hair now held up in a pony tail by a royal blue headband swaying slightly behind her back revealing her neckline and open exposed lean back.
Looking carefully Yin Yue couldn’t help but comment in her mind that Ailsa Smith was indeed extremely beautiful; having such a slender, voluptuous figure; possessing a large bust, narrow waist and a curvaceous b.u.t.t that stood out even in her baggy pants. Though she seemed to stand out greatly among them in Yin Yue’s mind though everyone here can give a top class model back home a run for their money, however Ailsa’s beauty really stroke a weird sense of emotion in her heart, she couldn’t understand what this emotion was one guess was probably because she was a foreign beauty. Shu Rong was here as well and she was with Ailsa Smith overlooking anything that she might have missed on her WarFrame, the two seemed to be getting along just fine. Yin Yue then looked back down on her tablet seeing the same confirming data and seeing nothing of any noteworthy problems but she still redouble checked her equipment sharing a minimal conversation with Hwei-ru who was physically working on the suit.
A few days ago when word was spread that they finally had a possibly contact from a nearby source hinting to the fact that they might not be alone, a task force was set up to investigate the source. Yin Yue immediately volunteered herself for the mission despite a certain someone’s protest; it was only after a long hour of persuasion with a little help from Xin Hua LaoShi did Jiaying You finally relent to her request. However for this exploration expedition they would allow only two Pilots and a single security team due to the lack of personal and to further to increase their chance of survival they were given the very aircraft they were currently riding in now. Also with a strict guideline of rules that Xin Hua LaoShi along with the other LaoShi enforced them to follow as did Jiaying You. Then they set off and now it has been about 3-5 hours since they left the academy grounds.
“Man, Jiaying You and her connections not just being able to acquire a MHT-3 Impuslor Tank but even this thing I don’t even want to know what else she has stocked up.” Yin Yue silently murmured to herself as she continued to observe the data playing over in the tablet until after a few minutes later she put aside the tablet. Before long after checking and rechecking over and over again she rose from her seat, as she walked towards the stairs leading up to the second floor she didn’t bother telling Hwei-ru who was too busy working where she was heading. So she strolled along the cargo area, there were no windows so she couldn’t see the outside world she could even begin to imagine what she would even see the different landmass the clear blue colored skies. Everything was different since they came into this world, soon as she was casually strolling along the cargo area each of her steps echoed with the slight tinge of metal lost in her train of thought, she found herself reaching the base of the stairway once she had her hand on the railings a voice came over the speakers that began booming within the cargo area overhead.
[“Look alive people we’ve found the loot, I repeat we’ve found the loot! Targets are at due north twelve o’clock.”]
At the sounds of that voice from the one pilots in the c.o.c.kpit Yin Yue then rushed up the stairs she could hear the other frantic footsteps of another person behind her but she wasn’t too concern with them. Once at the top she went to the side of the balcony not heading down the corridor to the c.o.c.kpit area. Not too far to the side of the corridor she found what she was looking for a 14 inches screen plastered on the wall, she hit a switch on the lit control panel next to it and the screen flickered into life projecting an imagine of something the exterior camera of the craft was picking up on.
There over the horizon far below them as Yin Yue was looking from a bird’s eye view due the craft’s altitude in height then she saw it, a modern building visibly seen among the vegetation and green and sleek hills that surrounds it, because of its clear white exterior material used in its design it stood out easily among the sea of greenery reflecting the sunlight. The imagine on the screen enlarged itself as Ailsa Smith who walked up to the holoscreen and tapped at the controls, the view change zooming into what appeared to be the front yard. There at the edge of the property dived by a wall that seemed to be made of concrete a horde of a dozen or so creatures was pouring through a massive hole in the pristine white concrete wall. Ailsa Smith then tapped a few more commands into the control panel and the image zoomed in on the creatures revealing their forms in more detail. Massive Ape like creatures that seem to be encased in a all-encompassing, a tight-knit collection of thick stone scales it looked impervious to harm –a segmented carapace like some huge insectoid yet still the creatures moved with such ease and grace that didn’t fit their heavy looking appearance.
Then from the building a bay door opened revealing seven distinctive orange silhouette figures emerged, at the sight of which that Yin Yue and Ailsa Smith as well as the rest of the crew could easily recognized stepped forward out onto the pavement floor. Five of the armored orange figures of similar height to these beasts stride forward meet in them with heavy steps while the other two hanged back slightly, moving slower from those at front hanging off to the sides of the formation raising something in their hands that resembled a firearm. A heavy looking and less slim looking if that was the word she was looking for, Yin Yue couldn’t think of the proper word for it other than the fact that these “guns” looked like heavy grenade launchers, any other person would have made that assumption if Yin Yue didn’t know what those tools were.
They were armed with an Industrial Staple Gun though not intended to be a weapon but to connect and reinforce buildings but the force behind the stable when fired is still deadly, the two aimed these Industrial Staple Gun and were pulling off somewhat accurate shots aiming for the beast’s heads and it seem to be doing some damage. Seeing as the beast roar and back away seemingly in agony and pain by the sounds of their screams not that they could hear it but it was quite obvious by the expressions. Then the first five meet the first row of the Stone Apes breaking into their ranks thus the brawl began as armored fist meet if they were down on the ground with them they wagered they might have heard the crisp sound of metal meeting stone ringing in the air. Each blow felt heavy through the screen as each blow that was exchanged blew chucks of metal and stone into the air, stones scales cracked and broke metal dent and bent, the force behind each attack caused the fighters on both sides to real backwards due the impact of each punch.
Despite being vastly outnumbered in this fight in a ratio three to one the armored figures in orange refused to back down, refusing to retreat despite the dangers. They returned each blow they received some at the front drew out their own Industrial Staple Gun letting loose their own steel rain at their foes.
“They seem too at least know what they’re doing look at the others behind the reckless idiot at the front.”
“On that guy…..yeah maybe.”
Ailsa Smith said calmly observing the pic-feed on the screen for a few moments after the fight was meet, seeing how the orange metal plated beings brawled with the creatures of stone Yin Yue found herself agreeing with that statement.
The one in question was the suit at the forefront of the group unlike the others, the one in the lead was slightly different when compared to the rest what was reflected in the holoscreen was the figure of a young man who wore a thick armor and arms on his body. Or rather, it would be better to say that his body was exposed and it looked more like that he was riding a robot. Thus revealing a young man who shirtless displaying his well toned-muscular body on full view as he stride onwards towards the lead beast. This sight drew a curious glance from both Yin Yue and Ailsa Smith, visually it can be easily indentified to be the exacted same model as the rest of the group but for that one in the lead the two guessed that boy was the leader. His suit had been stripped of much of its outer chaises thus resulting in its looks right now that they were seeing.
Though it seemed to work well enough in his favor moving with such agility and grace despite the suit he was riding on wasn’t built for movement. There he went going toe to toe with the beasts though he was despite him being neck deep with their ranks he held his own pretty well against multiple opponents.
“Hey that guy is pretty good he holding up well using that Power Loader unit especially in that state.”
“Yeah but how long will he last though? Maybe the whole reason why he did that was to reduced the weight and increase his speed he is moving much faster than his peers that’s for sure.”
The suit in question that the duo was speaking of was known as the Excavator or the Powered Work Loader, commonly referred to as the Power Loader or Exosuits, a commercial mechanized exoskeleton used for lifting heavy materials and objects. As a widespread for industrial use it is a mass-produced heavy-lifting Civilian Exo Suit model designed and used in the construction industry for building and construction purposes only, it is a non-military combat suit unlike the military model it does not possesses any sort of weapon and it has a glass window for the operator to see through and standard models of the military’s, like all exo-suits even before the militarized WarFrame suits all suit design follow a fundamental design, a two-legged suit but with four arms (two large ones, and two small flexible sheaths that contain the wearer’s arms and are used for motion control), with a large c.h.e.s.t cavity (where the wearer sits, their legs resting inside the partially hollow legs of the machine itself), and a camera-equipped head.
The chassis of the suit consists of a reinforced steel framework with two upper load-bearing points for the arms. A fuel cell is mounted on the back of the frame, providing up to 65 kW of power for the loader. The articulated legs are attached by two semi-universal bearings on either side of the base of the chassis.
Though the militarized WarFrame suits no longer followed after this design the Excavator possesses a total of four arms two larger and two smaller the larger arms are used more heavy objects while the smaller arms which cover the operator’s arms are for more delicate tasks. The two large ones are used for carrying items, the Powered Work Loader are equipped with jointed, five-fingered mechanical hands however these are also permanently employing overlapping hydraulic four forked clamp “claws” that can be used to hold and manipulate a variety of objects, the clamp arms are used to carry and lift heavy objects like those of a Forklift. The two smaller arms, located below the first pair, are hollow and flexible sheaths that contain the pilot’s arms. Unlike the police exo-suit which a lightly armored, fingered glove at the end of the control arms, allowing the pilot to use their own hand for special purposes or weapons handling, the civilian Powered Work Loader models have a protective steel mitt.
Configured as an anthropomorphic exoskeleton power frame, the suit offers unprecedented flexibility when handling heavy objects such as ordnance and cargo during rough field operations. It also serves as a platform for conducting heavy maintenance away from fixed workshops. The Power Loader is able to multiply a human operator’s strength and lifting capacity several thousand times and is capable of manipulating loads up at minimal 4,000 kg and more. A more robust, rugged and reliable alternative to conventional forklifts, rigs and cranes.
The leader of the group the shirtless idiot as Ailsa Smith called him seemed to brawling with what seemed to be the beast’s pack leader notable features being that this stone ape creature was bigger and have some form of tribal markings across its stone scale body. He was engaged in a fist fight with the beast that towered over him by estimation two head, the beast was fast but so was he. Through the holoscreen the Yin Yue could tell he didn’t even seem to be struggling at all in the fight, he tucked, turned and dodged with accurate timing for the blows that he couldn’t evade he swung his feet to meet it bashing against the creature’s wrist knocking it aside. Not one punch from the pack leader beast so much as even came close to an inch from him, not even the other Stone Apes that were assisting their leader was lucky enough. Each blow the beast tried to land the shirtless guy responded with two quick strikes of his own this drew a curious look from both Yin Yue and Ailsa Smith as they analyzed the situation in front of their eyes. The Excavator was designed to be a heavy lifter machine it didn’t have no it shouldn’t have the speed which the young man was displaying on screen with the machine.
Whoa he’s really working that machine to death with those movements the actuators on the legs and arms cannot hold with that kind of movement its motors are going to break at this rate.”
From her back came Hwei-ru who walked up behind Yin Yue, sparing a quick side glance to her Yin Yue saw she didn’t have her heavy Servo-Harness strapped on her back anymore her working goggles on top of her head her body heavy with sweat filing Yin Yue nose with the sweet smell of honey radiating off of Hwei-ru. This surprised her for a second but she didn’t show it on her face as she recollected her thoughts and focused her attention back on the screen.
Sure enough as pointed out by Hwei-ru Yin Yue could now see it the motors areas within the arms and legs were clearly being pushed towards their limits as the joints of the suit were sparking with released energy from its torn cabling. Yet still he pressed on seemly not even bothered by the fact of his failing suit that was breaking on him as he danced onward, he threw a punch out towards the head of the underlings but the distance from the punch and the beast’s head seemed off.
“He’s not going to reach at that distance.” Shu Rong who was next to Ailsa Smith said out loud almost to the point of screaming the others who gather up behind them also let out voices.
“No he’s going to reach.” Yin Yue then said in a low voice that no one heard.
As if to respond to her words the overlapping hydraulic four forked clamp “claws” alongside the extend arm of the shirtless idiot’s Excavator arm shot out rapidly, its claws balled up into a fist as it connected with the beast’s head forcing it backwards with such kinetic force that that head shot backwards till the back of the head reach the back of the creature’s own spine. As the body fell backwards into the pavement ground with a thump shaking a dust cloud around its corpse, he twirled around rapidly swing his arms around knocking aside the pack leaders punch again. Once he was face to face with the second underling did he stop using the momentum of his turn to backslap the creature in the face with his right hand, the stone scales on the creature’s face cracked and peeled off its cheek revealing the pink flesh underneath. Continuing on he then delivered a Russian left hook at the creature’s throat causing it to stagger, as the pack leader was resuming its attack on him he swirled back around his left arm’s hydraulic four forked clamp shot forward into the pack leader’s face.
Ignoring the pack leader as it stumbled backwards due to the blow, he then swung both of his arms together forward towards the underlings face crushing it face in between his mechanical palms in a clapping motion popping it like a balloon. Its slick blood and brain matter sticking onto the surface of his metal palms as he pulled them apart. At this time the pack leader recovered and in a fit of rage began unleashing a barrage of fists upon the shirtless man’s suit, yet he still evaded and dodged with ease though that soon changed because of the creature’s rampage he was forced to block with his arms its armored planting dented with each blow made obvious by the color scheme warping.
Yin Yue seeing this was immediately turning away from the screen cutting the audience behind her as she ran for the stairs, once there she then rushed down to get her WarFrame sliding down the smooth railings that felt cold to her bottoms hopping onto her feet once at the bottom, seeing her WarFrame she raced towards it was she reached it he hit a few commands as she stood before it. Once the light thrum of its reactor resonated in air vibrating the air molecules the light appearing along its frame she climbed into it, her legs and her arms slipped into the hollow sockets in the legs and arm units once inside it locked and sourced itself onto her body. The rest all fell into the same sequence once safely secured into her armor she stomped off, now heading to the cargo bay door she slammed the green lit button to the sides. A gust of wind instantly swept over her blowing at her hair while the door opened within out wait she leaped out of the aircraft, for a second she could hear the muffled cries of Shu Rong and Hwei-ru screaming something behind her but was inaudible due to the air current.
She let herself fall down to the earth letting gravity to do the work for her then her Jump-Unit’s four Variable Thrusters in pairs of two, one pair at her waist the other near the shoulder blades ignited via her command while she was still falling. However instead of lifting herself she was plummeting downward faster, she wore no helm feeling the wind cutting across her face though she was not blind as she was wearing her Interface Headset everything was displayed via her HUD. She saw her target seeing the calculations and trajectory points displayed in front of her then came another flaring burst of flames behind her as she corrected her course. The image on her screen playing across her holo-viewscreen was the same as what she was seeing back on the ship. The shirtless idiot still locked in a tight brawl with the Stone Ape pack leader throwing punches at each other, during which as the beast was throwing a punched the young man grabbed it holding the beast in place as a tube like object near his suits t.h.i.g.h leveled upwards towards the creature’s kneecap. Then suddenly a spike iron rod shot out of the tube piercing through the beast knees cap and protruding out through the other side. She could see the beast roaring in pain by its expression as it pulled its arm free from the young man’s grip knocking him onto his back his weight cracking the surface of the pavement floor. Seeing this she was about to ignite her thrusters again when sudden a warning icon shone on the right side of her display.
A hot burning beam of highly concentrated bolt of plasma energy shot through the air and pierced right through one of the beast’s skulls its body lingered for a time before it sloped down to its knees landing on the ground a loud thud head first into the ground. Yin Yue saw this and looked back slightly to her right looking back at the ship she just departed from there situated on one knee its frame glowing in the sunlight, the Oceanic-Blue Warframe the Fail-Not its armor plates looking like translucent water waves in the wake of the sunlight. And in the center of all that was Ailsa Smith helmless her hair flapping in the wind as she aimed down her scope of her massive rifle before pulling the trigger again sending another wave of searing heat.
“Go on I got your back.” Ailsa Smith said over her voice coming over the sweeping air coming through the opening airlock via the com link, as she then jumped down from the doorway and ignited her own thrusters hovering slightly as she slowly descended.
“I know you do.” Yin Yue replied as she continued downward thrusters now ignited blaring behind her dosing her pure white armored appearance with flaming white-blue wings like an angel spreading her wings to take flight into the world. She was reaching terminal velocity rapidly soon she needed to stop accelerating. The curves of the world’s surface below her grew quickly filling her vision with the ground. With a command her jets then roared furiously she soon found herself fighting against the drag of the world itself. Her fiery wings slowed her down only a little, slowly but surely she was slowing down as she was still hurtling laterally towards her target now changing course.
Her jets ignited again, and this time they stayed burning. The fuel gauge in her display rapidly fell from full to a third as she braked and that ate up her fuel quickly, she noticed that her fuel gauge was low before when she left the ship and so she made the right calculations and moved herself to the right angels to conserve fuel to manage her fall to the earth.
Once she was upon her target with a voice command she summoned her weapons at the palm of her mechanical hands two similar phenomenon were happening together on each hand, bright flashes of light particles started to form and expanded till the light began to materialize into two M19. The modified handheld weapon system for the WarFrame of the old Mark-19 grenade launcher system, Yin Yue then unleashed a hail storm of fire upon the stone apes lighting them up in fire, she speed down towards one of the creatures and before it could react or was even aware of her presence mag-locking the M19 on her right hand to her armor suits t.h.i.g.h. Instantly the same surge of light particles started to form and expanded forming her Type-7 Close Range Battle Halberd once she had a firm grip upon its handle she swung it.
Even if she couldn’t cleave through the stone scale armor of the beast the heavy weight of the blade carried by the monumental of her charge was more than to hammer their skulls in. Her blade struck home then with a quick twist and turn she instant moved to her next query her M19 spat fire as one of the stone ape’s head exploded in a shower of smoke and flame. Her feet landed upon another using its body as a cushion to softly her landing smashing it again the ground, pavement cracked and sunk in forming a large carter. Caving its body inwardly as its blood soon flowed out filling the bottom of the crater where it body now laid in the poor beast didn’t know what had killed it.
“That’s three down many more to go.”
