Rise My Elementals! - Chapter 778: Champion?
Proofreader: M_W Miss Fierce
The moment Osborne looked above him, he soon saw Leo falling from the top of the Golem and straight towards his direction. The latter was holding two daggers on both of his hands, crossing them in front of his chest, ready to swing them at any given moment at him.
Without wasting any time, Osborne jumped to the side to dodge Leo’s attack. But because he was still experiencing the pain of crashing onto the shield just now, he suddenly lost his balance upon landing on the floor, causing him to start rolling.
Osborne rolled for ten or so times before finally coming to a stop, resulting in some slight injuries throughout his body. Though, it wasn’t all that bad for him. At least, he was able to create some significant distance from Leo, thus preventing the latter from taking advantage of his unfortunate state.
However, not for long…
Leo started swinging his hands before Osborne could stand back up on his feet, throwing daggers towards the latter.
Whoooosh! Whooooosh!
Every time Leo threw one dagger, he would swiftly take out another one from his Storage Ring and repeat the same action over and over again.
With nothing to protect him, Osborne decided to use his hand by waving them, intending to slap the daggers to the side.
Strangely enough, Osborne’s plan succeeded. With his huge arms and powerful strength, he was able to slap the daggers away from him, at least most of them. But it was in the cost of receiving plenty of cuts on both of his arms. As for the rest of the daggers, some of them completely missed the mark, while the others penetrated into Osborne’s skin, just barely, but still painful nonetheless.
“Argh!” Osborne cried in pain. Regardless, he stood up from the ground and stared at Leo fiercely. He looked down at the daggers that had barely penetrated his skin and looked back towards Leo once again.
All of a sudden and totally unexpected, Osborne’s lips slowly formed into a smile.
Osborne grabbed one of the daggers that had not penetrated so deep and started playing with it using his fingers. The dagger was almost the same size as his fingers, thus allowing him to easily play with it.
“Oh no!” Leo could somewhat expect already what was about to happen next.
After enough playing, Osborne gripped the dagger’s handle tightly before raising his arm and swinging it in Leo’s direction.
Whoooooooosh!
Unlike Leo’s throw with the dagger, Osborne’s throw brought with it a tremendous amount of force. It made a strong whooshing sound in the wind as it traveled through the air straight towards Leo’s direction. And in just a blink of an eye, a loud explosion sounded just right beside Leo’s ear.
“Oh, I actually missed,” Osborne sighed regretfully. He went to grab another dagger again and started playing with it once more.
Seeing this, Leo didn’t hesitate to cast an Earth Wall spell before him in advance.
“I assure you, a mere rock won’t be able to protect you,” Osborne raised his arm once again and pointed the tip of the dagger towards the center of the earth wall that’s protecting Leo. With a swing of his arm, the dagger went straight towards the earth wall.
Whooooosh!
Banggggg!
“If one can’t destroy it, I believe two will do,” Osborne took out another dagger, which was the last one remaining that had penetrated his body aside from the dagger that Leo had thrown first. He couldn’t take out the first dagger since it had penetrated too deep into his body. So, this would be his last chance to attack Leo from far away. After this, he would have to get close to the latter once again.
Whoooooosh!
Banggggg!
This time, the earth wall immediately started crumbling after receiving the second dagger from Osborne. He had exerted so much strength with that one, considering that it was his last. So, this was within expectations.
Contrary to what Osborne was expecting, though, it turns out Leo wasn’t actually behind the earth wall.
Osborne approached closer to see if Leo was somewhere around the sides, below, and most importantly, above him, as he had already learned to always look up from his experience before. But he still wasn’t able to find any signs of the latter. Even just a clue to where Leo had disappeared to, he was unable to find any.
However, all the spectators watching the fight could see clearly just where Leo was hiding. He wasn’t in any inconspicuous location or anything of that sort. Honestly speaking, he was just hiding behind the spot that he had hidden previously, specifically behind the shield that Osborne had crashed a while ago.
What happened was, the shield was just behind the earth wall, so after casting the earth wall, Leo immediately sneaked to the back of the shield.
No matter how strong of a defense the Earth Wall had, Leo knew that with Osborne in a ‘Fury’ state, it would be easy for the latter to destroy it. As a matter of fact, Osborne could even just punch through it if he likes. The latter had just decided to use the daggers he threw previously for convenient purposes.
As to what Leo was preparing to do next, nobody knew aside from him.
Using the shield as a cover and some vines from before, Leo observed Osborne as the latter slowly approached the earth wall he had created.
“Where did he go?” Osborne asked as he started looking around his surroundings.
“Now,” Leo muttered as he quickly activated the Magic circle of the Fireball spell that he had left behind on the earth wall.
BOOOOOOOM!
A loud explosion echoed throughout the stage.
Because Osborne wasn’t that close to the explosion site, he only retreated a few meters to the rear.
“Why didn’t I see that coming,” Osborne said while waving one of his hands in front, trying to clear the cloud of dust from approaching his eyes. He added, “Fortunately, I didn’t get too close. Otherwise, that explosion would have totally got me there,”
In the next moment, a black figure suddenly flashed by in front of Osborne.
“Shit!” Osborne quickly raised his guard up while his eyes started surveying his surroundings. His feet constantly move around, trying to prevent Leo from getting any free attacks.
Swish!
“Argh!” Osborne cried in pain as he saw a cut wound from his left leg.
Swish!
“Argh!”
Another cut wound appeared on Osborne’s right leg. Because of that, both of his knees gave up, making him kneel down on the ground.
Nevertheless, Osborne didn’t let his guard down. He still pays close attention to his surroundings, wanting to catch Leo before he could wound him again or catch him after he cut him. No matter what it’s going to be, he is fully intent on catching Leo.
“Where are you hiding?!”
“Reveal yourself!”
“Stop avoiding me!”
Osborne constantly waved his hand, clearing the smoke in front of him in hopes of seeing Leo’s figure. It was only at this moment that he finally realized why Leo had activated the Fireball spell before he could approach the earth wall. It wasn’t that he was lucky or anything of the likes. But rather, the latter merely wanted him to be near the center of this cloud of dust produced by blowing the earth wall. By then, his sight would be obstructed, and Leo could launch his attack unhindered. In addition to that, with how small this encirclement created by the Golems is, thus the cloud of dust has probably covered the entire place.
“Wait…” Osborne made a sudden realization. He asked, “Don’t tell me that this was your scheme all this time?”
“Scheme?” Leo replied before quickly going to another location to continue speaking, “Don’t be mistaken,”
Whoooosh!
Osborne waved his hand to where he had heard Leo’s voice. But too bad the latter was no longer there when he cleared the smoke.
“I only thought of this plan just now,”
Whoooosh!
“Don’t lie to me!” Osborne doesn’t believe Leo’s words.
“If I thought of this before, then why did I only choose to do it now?”
Whoooosh!
“I don’t know! Maybe because this was your plan all along? And besides, why are you even asking me? How on Celestial World would I know what you are thinking in your mind,”
“You’ve misunderstood me,”
Whoooosh!
“The only reason why I thought of this was when I saw the cloud of smoke when you threw the first dagger to the earth wall,”
Whooosh!
“Liar!” Osborne exclaimed.
“After seeing that cloud of smoke, I thought, why don’t I cover this entire place with that?”
Whooooosh!
“So, you’re telling me that it was because of me why you chose to do this?” Osborne scoffed. In his opinion, he believes that Leo is only saying that to make him lose his confidence. To slowly make him lower his guard. And once Leo succeeded in doing that, the latter would then launch his final attack.
“I don’t need you to believe in me. As long as I believe it is the truth, that’s all that matters,” Leo whispered in Osborne’s ear.
Shinggg!
A dagger suddenly appeared on Osborne’s neck.
“I suggest that you don’t move. Just one mistake, and this Death Wake Dagger that was given to me by my Master would cut through your neck smoothly. Even though the clinic of the Victory Arena can still save you, it would definitely leave a scar that won’t leave you for the rest of your life. I don’t want to make such an ugly mark on you,” Leo warned.
Hearing Leo’s words and seeing his current situation, Osborne could only heave a sigh of resignation. He decided to stop resisting and grit his teeth.
As much as he hates to say this, Osborne knew that this was the only choice remaining for him.
“I…”
