Rise Of Destruction - Chapter 10
Seeing that he was actually being released into an arena, Amon was shocked. “Hey, you! Pick your spear and go in the arena!” Two soldiers with ropes tied on their waists commanded Amon as they pointed at him with their spears.
Amon picked the spear and felt a cold sensation. ‘Magic Equipment!’ Partly excited and partly worried Amon walked outside. There were six more warriors with various weapons like nets, harpoons, swords etc.
Looking around Amon saw a massive amount of public cheering. There were all kinds of people.
In the middle of the arena, there was a hole, or more like an elevator. What was down there was currently being brought outside. Roars could be heard and this made the public cheer even more.
The soldiers had long ago climbed the walls of the arena with the ropes that were tied on their waist. Close to him, Amon saw his ‘allies’ in this fight. Their ages varied and so did their skin colour and affinities.
In total, with Amon, there were seven gladiators in the arena. Soon the beast they were about to face was revealed. It was a wildcat like the one he had seen before be stumbled upon the Corpus Battle Temple.
This cat wasn’t the same though, it had more scars on its body but not a scar on its eyes, unlike the other one.
“The rules are the same! If you win ten times you regain your freedom!” The one who spoke was a man in white robes seated in the high-class zone.
Not much time passed and the fight between the beast and the seven gladiators began. The Purple Scaled Panther would jump around and claw at the gladiators, who in turn defended and fought back.
‘I need to end this fast! I will never be a slave again!’ Amon thought as he decided his next move. It was soon his turn to face the panther.
Dodging its claw Amon stabbed towards its neck while its paw was still in the air. This spear could transmit a small amount of energy thus its quality was much higher than a normal weapon and it easily penetrated the scaled skin of the wildcat.
Taking advantage of one opening, Amon decided to finish the Purple Scaled Panther in the second. He took a horse stance and channelled his energy through the spear as he pushed it deeper between the chest of the wildcat. With one last growl, the cat fell down. Amon took out his spear from the body of the panther and waited for other opponents.
‘Amonelius! Amonelius! Amonelius!…’ reverberated through the whole arena.
“The fight has ended! Everyone in the arena fight till only one of you is left alive. The survivor will have to go through three more battles, in Amonelius’s case only two!” The man from the high-class zone said as he drank more of his wine and waved at the public.
‘Aargh’
Amon didn’t have much time as he was attacked by the person closest to him. There were many openings and Amon concluded that those people weren’t warriors, at least they had lower fighting skills than him.
Dodging the net Amon quickly stepped on it and stabbed towards his opponent, penetrating his hard in the process. Amon didn’t spend any more time as he saw that a swordsman with a shield in his hand was coming towards him.
Jumping away from the net Amon saw that the swordsman had stepped in the end. Bowing down quickly, Amon grasped the net and violently pulled it. ‘Thud’ sound was heard after which Amon jumped and aimed his spear towards the neck of his enemy.
Blood splashed. Looking around he saw that two gladiators were fighting while a corpse of another was close to them.
‘Three dead leaves four of us alive…Im here, those two are there…that leaves one…’ before managing to finish his thought Amon felt wind pressure behind himself.
An arrow passed by his ear, turning around he saw an archer loading his next arrow and aiming it towards Amon again. This time Amon wasn’t caught off guard and dodged the arrow after which he threw the spear towards his enemy who was busy loading an arrow with his shaky hands.
Another ‘thud’ sound was heard as the corpse fell impaled while Amon picked up the shield and sword close to him. His next target was the two gladiators. Running towards them Amon saw that the one who was facing him with his back wide open managed to slash the throat of his opponent.
‘Perfect chance!’ Amon thought as he stabbed with the sword in his hand. The sword penetrated the back of the gladiator and came out from his chest.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead Amon looked around again.
‘Amonelius…Amonelius…Amonelius!’
“Ha-ha, Amazing spectacle Amonelius! It’s time to let the Bruno brothers in now!” Said the man in white again.
Amon shifted his look towards the gate that was currently opening. From it directly, two sturdy men charged towards Amon with maces in their hand. Amon could feel pressure from them, they were using their energy straight from the start!
In no time one of the men reached him and smashed towards his head with his mace. Parrying with the shield, Amon tried to slash at his surprised enemy.
The Bruno guy was surprised because that little guy wasn’t crushed under his mace, rather he stepped back only two steps. This one moment was enough for Amon and the man managed to barely avoid the slash aimed at his throat. His chest was still slashed though.
Before Amon had a chance to react he felt his body flying. Landing on the ground he saw two feet closing on him. A shadow of a mace enveloped his body.
Dodging, Amon stabbed his sword in the foot of his attacker as he made a quick run.
‘Argh’
The man tried to follow but he couldn’t as the pain was too much.
Reaching the dead archer’s body Amon took off his quiver and picked up the bow. Quickly, he aimed at the man who had his chest slashed.
‘Peng…peng’
Two arrows left in succession but one of them missed, while the other went into the kneecap of the enemy. Aiming again, Amon shot his enemy in the eye, while he took another set of arrows and fired them at the foot injured man.
Three arrows weren’t enough to kill him and there were also no more arrows in the quiver. Picking up his spear from the corpse of the archer, Amon walked towards the kneeling Bruno under the cheers of the public.
He ended his life quickly and finally breathed in relief. His whole mana was spent but he had actually broken into the third level of the Initial Stage.
“A-Amonelius won h-his freedom back!..” Informed the man but this time his face was red for an unknown reason to the other.
“Amonelius…Amonelius!”
‘What a tiring battle… it’s indeed the same as killing a beast…’ Thought Amon as he observed how the soldiers surrounded him.
