Rise Of Destruction - Chapter 12
“What the…” Amon was left amazed as he looked at the island they were arriving. There wasn’t even a patch of green. The weeds themselves were fiery red or yellow.
” Welcome to the Scorched Island. On the smaller mountain, the Scorching Battle Sect has been situated. The bigger one is full of beasts, dangers and riches.” said, Red Lei, as he pointed at a mountain far ahead.
On the island, there were horses waiting for them. These horses, however, had one or two horns and were more muscular. Taking a seat on a horse, Amon followed behind Red Lei.
The group consisted of around thirty-forty people. Some people like Amon, who didn’t wear red robes would throw a hostile look at Amon.
“Red Lei, why did you take me into the academy?” asked Amon as he urged his horse and rode shoulder to shoulder with the old man.
“You have talent. I could sense your aura and fiery energy. Plus I would get awarded for bringing you to the sect. But you must take care of yourself. These guys passed a test and were thus accepted in the academy. They are from the Rigis Kingdom and they aren’t the only one. People from the whole Mufasa Empire are coming in groups like ours.” said Red Lei as he pointed towards the hostile looking arrogant youth ahead of them, with his eyes.
“So that’s why…thank you again. What kind of power is the Scorching Battle Sect?” asked Amon.
“Our sect master is a Materialising Stage Expert and so is the sect. It has only one headquarter but people from all the empire would want to join it,” spoke Red Lei with pride as he continued to look ahead.
‘That’s a good opportunity! I can learn more skills and gain more knowledge… I finally know that Im in the Mufasa Empire.’ thought Amon as he rode on his horse.
It was around morning when Amon’s group arrived on a big main road to which many other small roads like the one they just passed, intervened.
Around twelve more groups were joining them and they all rode on the main road. It was an aspiring sight to Amon it brought him a good sensation when he saw such a simple cooperation.
The gigantic mountain got more and more gigantic to Amon and soon they arrived there.
There was a big gate wall on which red robed disciples guarded. Upon seeing the incoming new disciples and their comrades coming back, they opened the gate.
Amon could hear a noise behind the gates. It was as if people were fighting, laughing and singing at the same time.
After entering they were instructed to leave their horses to the disciples in guard. In the air except the feeling of heat, the smell of alcohol was reigning. Most of the disciples here were drinking.
Amon could also identify from where all this ruckus was coming from. There was a big building with the form of a witch hat, with a sharp point. On the gates, the words ‘Volcano’s Hat’ were embroidered and from time to time someone would fly out accompanied by a laugh.
“Welcome to the Scorching Battle Sect rookies. Did you expect something different from fire mages? If we can’t release our violent and explosive tempers, we drown them. Cheers!” said a cheerful disciple as he gulped down the alcohol from his calabash.
The rookies were amazed. All kinds of expressions could be seen on their face while the members of the sect who brought them here were smiling.
“Follow me towards the accommodation area! After you dress in our robes, you’re officially a part of our sect! There will be classes depending on your magic level, weapon and others. The timetable is in the small houses you’re about to live in individually or in couples.” said another as he started leading the way.
They soon reached a pathway on whose sides there were small houses which included a small yard, a stone fence and of course a fiery tree. “Choose a house and stick your name and gender on it. Inside you will find a few robes, if someone lacks something, be a good member and offer him help. Make yourself comfortable now.” advised the senior as he looked at the rookies.
Walking ahead Amon looked for a house in a more remote part of this zone. Finally, he found one and wrote his on the door, by applying energy with his finger.
Entering he saw that it was a simple house. It had a cooking place, bed, wardrobes and everything else that made this house suitable for living.
It wasn’t dirty but there was still some dust so Amon cleaned the house. After an hour he directly threw himself on the bed after looking at the timetable. The journey was a tiring one and he had still not pondered on the fight in the arena.
Waking up early, Amon took a red robe from the wardrobe and put it on himself. The sleeves were short as they only reached a bit after the elbow. Amon didn’t like the feeling of his sleeves being wide even though short so he put a silver ring on his short sleeves. After equipping his red robe he equipped a white toga.
After dressing himself he headed out for the initial lesson, not bothering to look at his outer appearance with these clothes on. He wasn’t ugly but looked more like a scholar. It was suitable for him as he would soon start to study and eventually learn.
