Rise Of Destruction - Chapter 22
Walking behind Tai Zi, Amon was thinking about the place on which they were taking him to.
They were actually deep in the mountain caves and the heat was becoming more and more intense.
Finally, after some time, they reached a cave from which the heat was making even Tai Zi sweat.
Looking at Amon who wasn’t sweaty at all, Tai Zi commented.
“Amon you must have quite a high affinity to not sweat even once…”
“Am I supposed to? I can sense even more brutal heat in there!” Said, Amon, as he pointed towards the cave in front of them.
“This is the place where we train our elites only. You don’t need to come at the usual place anymore, you can even live here. Go on, and you will see for yourself.” Tai Zi said as he looked at the shocked Amon.
Live there? What kind of a place is this cave? Thought Amon as his silhouette disappeared in the dark.
Sighing, Tai Zi quickly left.
______________
Woah…
What an amazing cave!
As he walked forward, Amon finally got to see what was actually in this cave.
Bonfires were lit and from the flames, hand seals were manifested. Around those bonfires, disciples were standing with four or five candles placed between them and the bonfire.
Ouch…
Amon was stung by a bee which woke him from his stupor.
Looking around, he saw that there were beehives on the cave wall above each bonfire.
There was also a tablet with ‘RULES’ written on it.
1. Killing is forbidden!
2. Oppression by magic level is forbidden!
3. Fights are legal only during Vein Scorching Honey time!
4. Only fighting techniques and the skill learned in the cave can be used during fights!
5. Do not try to get yourself honey by bothering the bees, YOU WILL GET YOURSELF KILLED!
Techniques were things like swordplay or spear arts, or breathing techniques for meditation and energy circulation.
Reading the instruction paragraph under the fifth rule, Amon arched a brow.
‘The heat gets more intense and the honey that drops from the beehives get higher in quantity the further you go. It is suggested to stay at a bonfire whose heat you can bear, risking one’s life recklessly might result in a ban from the cave.’
Walking ahead, Amon passed through quite a few bonfires but still wasn’t sweaty as he was during training.
I need to find a bonfire with fewer people but going ahead would attract attention from people…
Amon wasn’t very sweaty and felt he could walk around the whole cave but doing it might turn out to be bad.
Finally, he found a bonfire on which only two people were seated and he began focusing on the hand seals which were manifested by the flames.
The two people were shocked for a bit but then they proceeded with their own training.
The higher the talent you have, the faster you would learn, was something usual but people could have good learning abilities even though they might lack the talent.
Amon wasn’t idling and was executing the seals. Form his observance he saw that by executing these seals, the disciples would manifest a sword or other subject purely from energy.
What am I going to manifest? Is it a sword, spear or armour?
Amon thought that the subject that would be manifested wasn’t optional.
He could feel his energy splitting in various lines, in his spirit paths.
Looking at the candles, Amon started trying to light the other three candles by splitting the flame from one.
This process wasn’t hard and consumed a small amount of mana. Even then, however, people would still run out of mana at some point as the hand seals were the only thing they do during their time here.
Amon was the same. Repeating the hand seals over and over again, spent his energy but he also got used to the hand seals.
Time passed unknowingly and Amon was still doing the hand seals. He could make the flame on the candle twitch and split for a second after his time here.
It was the shaking of the beehive that made him stop. The two disciples who were peacefully practising until now manifested their weapons as they stared at the beehive.
A small red honey drop was forming at the bottom of the beehive and it soon dropped.
The drop fell on the ground as if it was a small ball, not a liquid. Its red lustre was beautiful and crystal clear.
“Its mine haha…I’ve been hungry for quite a time!”
“No…its mine!”
The two disciples began to battle and would sometimes look at Amon with wary looks.
Does it satisfy hunger? Thought Amon as he touched his belly. He wasn’t planning on fighting yet as he hadn’t brought his swords, plus, magic equipment was forbidden here.
As the two flame yellow light weapons clashes, the disciples who fought finally managed to produce a winner between themselves.
Picking up the small honey drop, the disciple popped it in his mouth and sat down.
The defeated one could only sit and start practising again.
Looking at the guy who won the fight by relying only on his body and techniques plus the skill which was in the bonfire, Amon tried to observe the effects of the honey.
The disciple’s aura soared, his face gained a rosy colour. He looked as if he didn’t have a fight before a minute ago and was actually in better condition than before.
So it is good for cultivation, feeding and etc…could there be any other effects?
Amon decided not to think about it and focused on doing the hand seals. Not long after an hour, he stood up and went for dinner at his home as he was starving.
Like that he continued practising in the Scorching Cave for the next two weeks until he finally achieved what he was aiming to, by gaining an insight.
