Rise Of Destruction - Chapter 4
‘Finally…I can do it without choking! Time to combine the breathing technique and the hand seals.’ –
Amon’s first month since he was sold to be a servant in the Roger Family. He had finally succeeded in learning the breathing technique.
During this one month, he did his duties while practising in his free time. When he got tired from choking he would do push and sit-ups and all kinds of simple body exercises.
Although there wasn’t a visible effect after these exercises he could feel more ‘free’ when moving around.

Focusing on the [Elemental Lantern] Amon started to gather the energy around him. The fire energies flowed like a river through his energy paths.
Most of the energy would dissipate but some of it remained and entered into his core.
The crystal core glowed with a small red and blue coloured light as if there was a flame within.
‘It indeed looks like a lantern!’
The core was spinning and the energy in it which was still gathering in it was also being used for something else.
Amon could feel the outline of a ring shaping up. This ring was around his core and was thinner even than a hair for now, but he could feel its existence. His body also changed, as he felt lighter and more powerful.
Some black excrement flowed out from his pores as the energy that was used to make the outline vibrated and sent waves to his not so clear energy paths.
‘So this is magic…but why is it happening so slow? Whatever… let’s just continue…’
He couldn’t do much about that. His talents were low and so was his circulation method. Talents were ranked from level 1 to 9 as from 1-3 was low, 3-6 middle and 6-9 was high grade.
The day passed soon and Amon went to sleep early today after he got bored from doing the same thing for the whole day.
Waking up in the morning he went for a breakfast and saw Lan there. “Hi, Lan can I choose a skill this month?” Asked Amon.
“Yes, you can after you finish your duties, but don’t you want to buy something for yourself with your 2 silver coins?” Responded the old man as he looked towards Amon.
“Currently I don’t need anything.”
Amon said as he started eating his eggs. Next, he had to clean the floor and the bookshelves. It took him five hours to do everything. With time he became more ‘experienced’ in those ‘stuff’ and he would sometimes wonder whether that’s good or bad for his little pride.
Putting the mop and the cloth on their place, Amon headed towards the reception. Lan was already there and as soon as he saw Amon he started leading the way.
They arrived in the underground room in a minute and Lan pointed towards a certain shelve as he said “Choose from this one. The basics are free.”
Inspecting the shelve Amon saw that some books had an elemental sign which meant that only people possessing this affinity could practice the skill.
The skills were, of course, at the low initial stage with some of them being at the middle stage. Looking at the books Amon made his decision as he remembered what Lan had told him.
He picked three books, [Swordsmanship Basics], [Archery Basics] and [Spear/Staff Basics]. The basics were free and he wanted to see which weapon he would be able to wield better.
Plus, there were no other skills, except battle based ones. Now what was left was choosing a pricey skill, which was going to be a hard choice for him to make.
‘I have taken the weapon basics but I don’t know any hand combat arts…’
As he thought about this fact he looked towards a certain book that had a blue coloured cover.
[Nanquan Martial Art]
It was a close combat martial art and except the description, the logo on the blue cover seemed to give a hint about that too. The logo was a fist cupping into a palm.
In the end, Amon took that boom too and headed towards Lan. Upon inspecting the books Lan said “I can give you the weapons but you will have to practice outside the library. You can use the place behind the building itself as there are no people going there. Follow me to the weaponry.”
Lan led the way upstairs after which he took his grey coat and led the way out of the library. Outside was windy and it seemed that it was about to rain soon.
They soon arrived at a much more ‘lively’ building which had guards. The guards saw Lan and they let both of them pass.
Inside on the first floor, there was a room filled with weapons. Amon was excited but not for long.
“Those weapons are for the soldiers. The one in this room is for you. You can come and take weapons from this room every time you need from now on.” Lan said as he pointed towards a crappy wooden door.
Opening the door Amon was shocked. There were all kinds of weapons but they did not look ‘shiny’ or dangerous like those which he saw in the start.
Those weapons were either wooden or metal but there were all kinds of weapons. Picking up a black bag close to the door he looked for what he was interested in.
He saw a blue simple blue staff and put it in the bag, followed by two swords and archery equipment. Looking around he saw weapon belt holders for waist and back, which he put in the bag too. Daggers, arrows and leg and arm guards were the last things he put in the black bag after which he dragged it outside.
Lan was there waiting for him and nodded when he saw Amon. Amon in return only smiled and followed behind Lan. They soon reached their home the library but Amon didn’t go inside it, rather behind it.
Behind the library, there were trees and only the sound of wind and the effects it had on the trees. Turning the bag upside down, the weapons fell and made a small mountain.
Picking up the weapons he put them in order under a big tree and started planning.
‘This is my new training place…I will focus on those martial arts first and will limit my time using [Elemental Lantern] as a consequence…but which art should I train first?…’
