Rise of The Anti God - Chapter 783: We Are Screwed
“How did you guys weaken that ghoul so easily?” Lily asked with pure curiosity.
Linda pointed to Ana with a smile and said, “That shy girl is the main reason our team works so well together. Without her poison bombs which lower the defenses of the ghouls, we wouldn’t be able to bring down a ghoul of that strength and size like this.”
Ana, who heard Linda’s praise, shyly waved her hand and said, “I-I am nothing without my team. That’s why I am glad to have them.”
Berret smiled proudly as he hugged his girlfriend, Ana, who hid her face feeling too shy that her boyfriend was hugging her before others.
Jack laughed as he wiped the sweat off his forehead, “Haha, ain’t she cute. But she is right in a way. If one of us was missing, we wouldn’t be able to get that monster down together. Linda usually will cause a distraction to let Ana poison our enemies by surprise. After that, Berret will corner our guy, and I will use my lightning to shock them enough to not let them escape. If we reach that point, then Linda comes in to finish our enemies for good. Not too shoddy for teamwork, eh?”
Lily was surprised at how well they had their teamwork figured out. Each one of them had a specific role and knew what to do, unlike how she and her sisters simply tried to work up a plan at the moment to try and take down that giant ghoul, which failed miserably.
“Guys! What the fuck are you all doing, talking around? We need backup right now!” Gunner’s voice suddenly echoed in everybody’s head as they all frantically glanced at each other.
Jake’s expression became serious as he said, “Shit! I thought we took care of all the ghouls on our way here and that Gunner’s team could rescue the Station Master on their own. It seems like we miscalculated some things. Let’s go!”
Everybody nodded with a focused look as they flew off towards the bunker where the Station Master was taking cover.
—
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
The sound of a fortified iron wall which was at least a few inches thick, being struck repeatedly echoed in the underground floor of the largest building in the Browncloud station.
This fortified iron wall was, in fact, a door of the strongest room in this station. This room was an emergency bunker in situations like this where they were overwhelmed by a sudden attack.
This fortified iron wall was so strong that not even fifty cultivators at the early or middle levels of the Profound Ethereal Realm could create a dent in it.
But it was a different story if four ghouls at the late level of the Profound Nethereal Realm were ramming this wall with huge iron rods that were twice taller than them and twice as thick.
These five had been trying to bring down this fortified wall for an hour, and even though they hadn’t broken through it yet, there were already cracks appearing on the wall as debris continued to fall from the roof due to the intense shockwaves.
However, behind these four ghouls, there was a fifth ghoul standing with his huge arms crossed, carrying two machetes. If Yuria and her sisters saw him, they would feel even more tense since this ghoul was even bigger than the one they fought, standing tall at 7 5″ feet.
His arms were big enough to be as thick as the body of an average human. His muscles weren’t well-defined but massive enough to make one’s legs shiver when standing before him.
He was half naked and was wearing torn black pants with few scars on his torso.
His eyes were bloodshot, with streaks of dry blood all over his face and body. Both his huge machetes were blood red as if they were bathed in blood.
His big head was bald, and he had a large grizzly beard that extended to his chest. His back was straight as an iron rod, and he was standing still like a statue as he watched his subordinates ramming the fortified wall without any rest.
It was as if he knew within this day, this wall would break down, and everything inside would be his to plunder.
However, unbeknownst to him, four invisible figures were hiding behind the door of this underground hall while taking a peek at the back of this terrifying ghoul holding two machetes in his hands.
These four were none other than Gunner and his team, who killed their way here to reach the bunker only to stop in their tracks upon feeling a heaviness in the air that stifled their chests…more than they expected.
“Crap…this is bad news…really bad…” Gunner whispered as Lita, Becca, and Milo were taking a peek as well with nervous expressions.
“Gunner…how strong is that thing?” Milo asked in a shaky voice.
“Please tell me he is at the middle level of the Profound Nethereal Realm…any higher and we are doomed…” Becca said as she bit down on her lower lip. She was already on edge after having a few close calls when she was busy killing the ghouls on their way before coming here.
Just like any other ethereal cultivator, Gunner can’t precisely sense the cultivation of a ghoul.
But these three knew that Gunner had tuned his soul energy to be quite sensitive to the presence exerted by any living being. They knew this was how the experts among them figured out the cultivation of ghouls since they couldn’t normally sense it.
This allowed Gunner to guess the cultivation of any ghoul he came across, making him one of the best scouts of their station.
Because of him, they were able to avoid dangers multiple times in their past missions.
“If I am guessing right…He is at the First Level of the Noble Nethereal Realm…” Gunner said as his lips trembled. His legs were shaking already, as if his body was screaming at him to run away.
“We are screwed…” Lita mumbled with a pale face.
