- Chapter 854: Divine Ankh Goddess Bloodline. Part 2
Makena made to leave after Melinda said she could but the first move she made was met with a vindictive strike from Tanya only for the strike to be canceled out by Melinda who then created a barrier of cosmic energy to allow Makena to use Reality warping to get away.
The battling forces instantly had her help while Tanya and Melinda had a staring contest of sorts and silence reigned.
“Nice Makeover,” Tanya said with a smirk to break the silence, and Melinda, who was still floating a few inches above the ground, smiled and twirled her Imperial robes a bit,
“You like? I didn’t have time to get the hems just right on account of rushing here.”
“What message do you have from my mother?” Tanya asked.
Melinda shrugged,
“She wants you to stop. Your mother is seeing the light. Realizing certain things are not worth fighting for. Things such as the dwindling power of the Haron Family are not worth fighting for.
You have to have realized by now that all you are doing is pointless. There is no possible way you win.” Melinda said.
“You underestimate me,” Tanya said to which Melinda shook her head,
“No. If anything I overestimate you. You are strong. You can surpass the limits of the Nexus world and it will still mean nothing.
The more you struggle, the higher you go, the more painful your fall will be,”
That appeared to be the limit of conversation that Tanya was willing to welcome as she charged at Melinda with her entire body shrouded in multicolored energy that arched in front of her like an arrow.
Melinda met the oncoming attack with the swing of her sword.
Tanya saw the sword swing coming but had decided not to bother with avoiding it. She could feel the cultivation pressure coming off of Melinda’s body and the fact that the white-eyed woman was still at the sixth star of the Saint Realm made her confident enough to clash with her.
The expectations were for a clanging sound or at least a bang of impact but rather, Melinda’s sword passed through the arch of power around Tanya and slammed into her very person to send her rocketing to the ground with a definite reduction in her life force.
As she crashed into the ground, Tanya was confused but she had the good sense to roll to her feet and not a moment too soon, as Melinda came down on the spot she used to be with vindictiveness befitting of an enraged goddess, and yet, she was smiling.
*BANG*
On her feet, Tanya created a spear and tossed it at Melinda. The spear made contact but the stabbed Melinda transformed into an ankh that dispersed into gold and green light as the real Melinda appeared behind Tanya to strike her down.
Tanya created a shield for herself but just like before, Melinda’s attack bypassed the shield to aim at Tanya’s body itself.
*BAM!*
*BANG!*
Tanya crashed into the wall and broke through it covered in rubble only to be met by Melinda’s blows that always bypassed all defense to hit their targets.
Tanya was confused and understandably so. All of her defenses and attacks were appearing useless.
“What? You thought this was all an aesthetic?” Melinda asked with a gesture at her new look to which Tanya gritted her teeth and decided to push on.
She created clones all of whom were so similar to her that it works be hard to pick her out from among them and yet, Melinda took hold of the Ankh that was floating with her, and with a wave of it, green and golden energy spread out and instantly picked Tanya from among her clones to wrap her in strands of energy and pull her towards Melinda who aimed her sword at the Monument gem with the intentions of plucking it out.
The moment Melinda’s sword touched the gem, her consciousness was dragged from her body and into the monument to be tortured but a single flex of her mind returned Melinda’s consciousness to her body before Tanya could think to gloat.
Melinda frowned a bit at the realization that it would take a lot to get that gem off Tanya’s head and it was then that she was struck with a focused beam from the Monument gem right against her forehead.
The beam attack knocked Melinda’s head back as her consciousness became plagued with the incredible might of the Monument but a miniature Ankh (purely mental) shielded Melinda and even went a step further to add her personal signature so that it could be struck back into Tanya’s head.
The retaliation bypassed the Monument gem and entered Tanya’s mind to immediately disrupt her sea of consciousness.
Tanya’s mental grip on the Monument gem lessened and it loosened just enough for Tanya to reattempt to pluck it out but Melinda had grossly underestimated the strength of Tanya’s mind.
Tanya shook off the attack on her mind and used the situation to lure Melinda into a false sense of security and once she had a chance, she let out an attack that destroyed every structure around them and pushed Melinda back almost to the very end of the sect.
*BOOOOOMMM!!!*
Melinda blocked the brunt of the attack with her Ankh and her sword crossed in front of her face as she flew along with the propulsion to eventually put a lot of space between herself and the origination of the attack at which point, she evaded the blast totally to vanish into bright sparkles in regards to her insane speed.
With her hair fanning behind her like a curtain, Melinda appeared behind Tanya and stabbed the Princess in the back,
“Arrghh” Tanya yelled in pain and grabbed Melinda’s sword blade in an attempt to hold her down while she struck her with an attack at point-blank range.
However, the moment Tanya’s hand touched the blade, she felt its sharpness tear into her with the strong intent of separating life from her body.
Tanya reacted quickly and smartly to release the sword and leap away from it so that it came out of her back and as she did, she shook with fear at what she had felt.
“That, Princess Tanya, is the power of the Divine Ankh sundering. I can do things with and against Lifeforce that you can’t begin to imagine” Melinda said with a chuckle and her bright white eyes got even brighter and became thicker with Divinity.
“That’s how…” Tanya said in realization while she let the energy of the Monument gem heal the wound that had been caused by Melinda’s sword.
“That’s how you were always hitting me. Your attacks sought my life force directly,” she mumbled.
“Bingo!” Melinda said.
It had taken a lot of trial and error for Melinda to succeed in synthesizing this bloodline of hers which was hers and hers alone until she passed it on to an offspring.
She combined her proficiency with her sword and so far mastery of the harnessing of divine energy along with her Bloodline to end up with the Divine Ankh Bloodline that made her a goddess while still, a human but even then, Melinda was not yet satisfied.
She took advantage of a connection she had with Hal that all others lacked to sample in his Infinity and add it to what she had synthesized and the results absolutely blew Melinda away.
At just the insight level of the Abstract Ordinance of Life, Melinda, with her Divine Ankh Bloodline, could manipulate lifeforce as well as someone with the insight Level Comprehension. That was the reach and leap that a dash of Infinity had allowed her and she was not yet done!
What she had come to fight Tanya with was an unfinished product but it would do well enough.
Anyway, any contact Tanya made with Melinda and her weapon would always result in the loss of Lifeforce and as she realized this, Tanya decided to actively avoid close contact battles and she succeeded at it.
For one, it was only when they were close that Melinda could pull off her evading attacks and strike Tanya herself and so, far apart, all attacks sent at Melinda would have to be battled normally and this was where her Ankh really showed why it was such an integral part of her bloodline.
The Ankh acted as the shield in her ensemble, to the point where its loop would collect all attacks and churn it only to spit it right back at Tanya.
Over and over, the two ladies went blow for blow, as blow for blow as they could, being so far from each other, and not once did Tanya gain the upper hand.
No matter the level of attack Tanya tossed, Melinda’s ankh could take in and churn to either dispose of or toss back at Tanya.
Their clashes had destroyed multiple buildings and when Tanya gave herself a massive boost, more destruction was caused. She closed in on Melinda who grinned in hearty expectation while she gripped her sword even tighter.
“BAM!*
The two ladies clashed and their shockwaves destroyed more structures as well as created craters but neither cared, especially not Melinda who stabbed her sword right through Tanya’s heart while she let loose her Lifeforce sundering.
Tanya bore the pain and insistently pushed Melinda through a portal into the Monument of Ordinances inside which they promptly separated.
Melinda rose almost immediately and was witness to Tanya getting bolstered by the Monument to the point where all damages done to her body and Lifeforce were reversed so that she was back in top shape to do more battle.
