Rise of The Immortal Wraith - 12 A Nice Cha
Covering the sleeping Jenna with his sheets he saw the cute smile still on her face, leaning forward he kissed the top of her head. Checking his scouts, nothing was amiss, so he began his day with meditation.
A week passed quickly and each day he meditated, bathed and seduced one maid after another until they had all sworn an oath to serve him and his house. Being soul branded gave them a tiny version of his system, like a tree they were the roots connected to him, he could feel and know broad details about them. If they were in danger they could draw from his never-ending energy, they also gained weaker versions of his wraith abilities if he granted them that access.
The kingsized bed had been removed for a large mattress with cushions the maids were his knights and would either be near him protecting him from harm or leading his troops to put down his enemies. Waking up he could feel Jenna hugging onto his torso, moving her arm gently he sat up amid the bodies on the massive cushion.

Wraith knights:12
During this week other than training and seduction, he had practiced hand to hand combat with Jenna and the knights, he was still learning but they had beat him until he had the basics memorized slowly polishing him into a fighter. He didn’t enjoy the idea of swinging a sword, which could take years or decades to master.
He did surprisingly enjoy the spear, bow, and gauntlets with the last of the three being his main focus since he could use it as his sword and shield. He would build his own once he finally got all the materials gathered but he hadn’t received the tools or enchanting table he had requested over a week ago now and the city lord was probably delayed due to the legion of undead on his doorstep.
They had been sent servants and regular guards at his request, originally he thought to recruit more knights but they had refused to send more of the outstanding ladies fearing he might take them away too, cheap bastards wouldn’t even give him a few warriors. How was he supposed to survive with only a few knights and scouts he grumbled to himself.
During breakfast, a servant handed a scroll to Jenna before bowing and making an exit after viewing the scroll she spoke into his ear, ” The city lord will be arriving in an hour Master, are there any orders you have for us?” Nodding his head he gave his instructions to bring the city lord to him once he arrived and for them to wear the robes that had been prepared for them.
Similar to his robes only that they were all black with hood attached with a dark green cloth belt, the robes were form-fitting and stuck close to their bodies to allow a better range of motion during a fight. They were like him not needing to constantly wear armor, with the wraith armor ability they could summon a blackish green armor coating that would perform better than any normal steal.
Once the city lord approached with his territory his knights summoned their armor and put on the hoods casting their eyes in shadow only showing their mouths, this was an effect of the armor being active and playing with shadows. Approaching the doors of the mansion he saw that the guards on the outside had knocked on the door which opened from the inside, showing two women in armored robes. “Welcome city lord to the house of Belegast, we welcome you on behalf of Master Salem, please enter our master has been expecting you for some time.”
Raising an eyebrow at the female guard he followed her in noticing on the back of her and the other guards’ robes was a house crest, It looked like three green eyes of a beast glowing in the dark, two on the side and one in the center, between and slightly above the others, opening like a third eye of a demon. Feeling a slight chill he turned his site away from the crest and followed them into a large side room that would be used to hold meetings.
Entering the room he heard the voice of the young elf-lord, “Welcome Lord Nolan, city lord of Koftas. I’m glad you could finally come by and speak with me, it seems a few things have happened since we last met, how goes the battle against the undead?” seeing slight fatigue on the city lords face he motioned to two large chairs with a side table with refreshments.
“I insist on you drinking this before we start you seem very fatigued this will help you feel refreshed and clear-headed, don’t worry before you ask no it is not magic its just an elven recipe for mages to help them with meditation just regular herbs that can and were purchased from your markets.”
Before he had even asked his questions, or even spoke of the happenings the young elf had guessed that the battles weren’t going as planned, he was tired and wary of the tea, he watched as the elf inhaled and drank the tea to show it wasn’t poisoned.
Taking the offered drink he smelled it and drank deeply, he felt his mind clear of the fog that had been building up these past few nights, “Thank you, it was a much-needed respite from the worries plaguing me and our city, I see you convinced the guards we had assigned to you to become your retainers though I’m not very happy with you taking them away from us, its better for you to have guards with how the battles are turning out.”
Putting down his cup, “I see, so the losses the city is enduring must be dire if you actually need my assistance. Well, my services as a smith are decent enough to craft fine weapons and light armor, though if I can enchant the blades as well then it would make quite the difference fighting an opponent that doesn’t die from wounds but has to be destroyed.”
Nodding firmly the city lord agreed that even though the mindless undead wasn’t very fast or smart between the numbers and having to destroy the head and body it is unlikely he had enough soldiers to wipe them out without losing all of his own men in the process. Even with the weapons, it may not be a sure fire way to save the inner city from the massacre just beyond the gates.
“What do you suggest, even with your weapons, it is not a guaranteed path to survival. Do you have a method that will stop or destroy the undead legion? We can hold the gates for another year but holding out that long we would not be able to push out of the siege to escape to another city. So if you have a method please share it or we will evacuate to another city.”
Giving up his pride to plead with the young elf lord was hard but necessary for the survival of the citizens in his care, he wouldn’t be so petty to risk a hundred thousand lives just so he didn’t have to ask for help.
Seeing the honesty and pleading in the eyes of the middle-aged man who seemed like the weight of the world would crush him. He decided to help him, not for free but he wouldn’t take advantage of him either, “I have a method to halt their advance, and I can make you the weapons you need to bring about their destruction easier.”
“Before you thank me there are conditions to this bargain, the first of which Jenna will recruit nine more warriors from her previous organization. Second, any and all orphans in your lands will be charges of house Belegast, we will care for them and adopt them into our clan. Third, you will provide the materials for the obelisks and swords, for the obelisks you will pay one-quarter of the costs of materials to me as payment while the swords will be sold to you at half the cost of enchanted weapons.
The catch of the half price for the enchanted weapons is they will be brought back to my clan to remove a tracking enchantment as well as a special enchantment of my own design that will help eradicate the undead quickly, and I do mean ALL of them or the consequences of breaking the contract will be, Severe.”
Salem handed over the proposals with a magical contract to the city lord with a serious expression. “The details of what the obelisks do is included in the proposals and contract, Well this has been a nice chat Lord Nolan. My knights will see you out I have many things to prepare for our partnership, once the contract is signed a duplicate copy will be in my possession. I would have your ministers look it over before signing” he said, standing up and leaving a slightly shocked city lord looking over the details of the proposal.
Walking up the stairs with Jenna following behind him, they entered the room taking off his boots he moved onto his bed with Jenna holding him from behind, “Master, will he sign the contract?” she asked breaking the silence, “Oh he will sign it if he doesn’t sign it then when I leave I will make an agreement with the undead which I would rather not due.
This is a low price for his entire cities population, almost no one wants orphans there are not enough charitable people to house clothe or feed them all. Even if they can be conscripted into the military they may not stay there for long choosing to run away or they might live on the streets leading to theft, disease, and possibly violence if the survive to an older age. So we will take them into our home and give them hope to be more than human waste.”
