Rise of The Immortal Wraith - 19 Wisdom
Early the next day a crowd had gathered around the Madden estate, over a thousand bodies hung on spears, just like the bandits had been killed to the last, so had the Madden family. Guards were moving about inside the estate looking for any survivors but met with nothing other than a forest of death.
The crowds whispered and pointed at the spear closest to them, it was taller than the rest with a banner flying beneath the corpse still dressed in silk clothing, something no commoner would ever wear indicating he was a noble and most likely it was Lord Madden himself that hung there lifelessly. The rumor was that the Maddens had attacked the tunnel killing the workers hired by the new
Lord Belegast that had arrived and taken control of the southern portion of the city.
No formal charges had been taken to the city lord, nor had there been open hostility since the first attack, it seemed to those on the outside that the Maddens may have started a fight only to pay the ultimate price, extinction of their noble house. The Belegast house, it would seem, did not take kindly to the provocation.
Salem sat down at the dining table, he chatted with the children, smiling and laughing at their antics to garner his attention. He was holding one of the infants playing with her nose and hands eliciting pure laughter that brought him a joy he didn’t expect to have, after playing with the children he spoke with his knights asking them to continue their operations, he gave a report to Annah to give to the city lord once they were beyond the wall to depict what had happened and how he had handled the problematic lord to set an example for the others.
He was planning on selling the mines that weren’t in his territory to the city lord while keeping the three that had been prepared for him by the Maddens in his own lands, he would need to have the twins gather a few apprentices, they would need the help once he took over the metals and weapons trade. He had already prepared shops and houses in the southern district, now he only needed to get the report to the city lord and his shops and homes would be on the market for purchase.
He would be selling the herbal powders that helped nourish the body, weapons, and armors any enchanting work would have to be requested and put on a waiting list, he would have magical trinkets being sold that would be similar to his knights’ rings but only having the storage option available in varying degrees of space. Thankfully he had the twins to help him with creating most of the various goods, though they always seemed to need a reward for their hard work from simple kisses to an entire afternoon of attention which leads to a competition of who got it the most.
Thinking of the twins he smiled at the thought of their playfulness, he walked outside and sat beneath his obelisk putting his back against the warm metal like surface. He began his meditation here now that he had completed the formation of obelisks, all the soul energy absorbed by the smaller versions would pass through the roots and into his body, letting him nourish his soul just like his body in the baths.
He washed his soul with the vast energy stored within the tree, he could feel the barrier that had stopped him from breaking through had started to weaken, so he kept pouring the energy slowly against himself. There it is, he thought feeling a crack forming on the barrier, so he stopped the flow of energy gathering it for a moment before pushing it towards the cracked layer. After pushing for a time he would regather the energy and shove again breaking off chunks of the barrier. Until the crack became a hole which started to collapse the barrier.
“Congratulations master Salem, you have broken through into Tier three wisdom.”
He heard the system announcement and smiled, “Only three more to go,” he said aloud he knew even with all the soul energy in the tree it wouldn’t be as useful to him, he needed more powerful and complete energy source instead of an army of fractured souls to increase as quickly before.

Taking a quick look at his stats, he dismissed the information noting that his other three aspects were lagging behind, though now he would be able to focus on them more now that he broke through one.
“Master the new arrivals from last night are ready, they have been given the tonic you made and are inside waiting for your arrival.” Looking over the twins standing near him, he wondered how long they had quietly waited for him to finish to make their report, he would have to give them a reward for behaving themselves or else in the future they might want to wake him up before he finishes his meditation.
“Good work Sasha,” kissing her for a few moments while she clung to the unexpected gift, ” and good work Sarah,” giving her a more gentle kiss while fondling her butt she let out a quiet moan though she reached for his crotch he intercepted her soft hand, ” Later Sarah, there are still things that must be finished before you get to enjoy the rest.” He walked towards where the children were being kept, hearing Sarah whisper to her sister that it was going to be torture waiting that long, “That is part of the reward now let us go see the children,” he called back to the twins.
Stepping into a room filled with human children, he saw their blank faces, though sadness wasn’t what brought this look onto them it was the concoction he had made which helped to dissolve their previous memories allowing them to become influenced by his words, he knew that taking their memories from them wasn’t a good thing but it was necessary for their survival.
He told them the tale of how their clan had been attacked, his father had made a portal to take away from the impending doom of their clan, they were orphans and he was their protector, and they loved him for it. After he told them their identities, he gave them his blood, turning them into the dark-skinned void elves of the Belegast clan, he repeated these actions in two other rooms one hundred children in each.
After it was done he felt sadness for the children he had separated from their parents knowing that not all in that house was evil, but they had to pay a price, so that he wouldn’t have to see his own house fall to a similar fate. He kissed the twins on his way to the baths, taking out the new powder for nourishment he knew it was going to get a little uncomfortable for the first use, luckily he had the twins who were more than willing to help distract him by putting on a little show for him.
Though once he got used to it he had them enter, hissing at the sting and aches as they entered, he massaged and kissed them into forgetting about the pain until all three of them were leaning and cuddling on the edge of the baths looking up towards the stars. Salem looked to the entrance of his home, “Wonder what he wants at this time of night?”
