Rise of The Immortal Wraith - 20 No Deal
Sitting halfway into the outdoor bath, with the twins cuddling against him, Salem stared at the city lord sitting opposite him, with only a towel wrapped around his waist. The awkward silence persisted, “What brings you to my home at such a late hour, Lord Renwei?” Salem broke the silence, watching the city lord trying to control his anger amused him, why would he be so upset that he rushed over here?
*cough*
The city lord cleared his throat and motioned toward the two elves currently attached to Salems’body. Narrowing his eyes to glare at the city lord, he reached into the water, as he gropes both of the twins. They responded with moans and held on tighter to their master, hoping for more attention.
Taking the hint, the city lord got to the point of this surprise visit, “Lord Belegast, why didn’t you come to me before attacking the Maddens? If you had come to me I would have sought justice for your family’s losses and been able to solve this peaceably. What need was there for so much bloodshed! Many houses have asked for me to either put you in jail or put you down how-”
Swish!
Six green tails burst from the beneath the water before the city lord could react to this assault he had his arms and legs bound, stretching the city lord he wrapped another tail about his waist and neck.
Standing up abruptly water cascaded down from his naked body, Salem turned from calm to furious, “You dare to threaten me? Without my help, you would be serving an undead lich that could wipe out this city in a day, I could leave you, and your people, to rot and die while escaping easily with my own family to Idos.
If you had a firmer hold on these nobles then my people wouldn’t have been cut down over petty greed!” Salem screamed into the city lords face. “The disrespect I have seen from your, noble, houses have left me with utter disgust and contempt for you, it wasn’t only those of the elven races that had committed atrocities in a racial war.
My spies found out about how two of the great families in this city had attacked, killed, and captured the elves who were the original inhabitants of this mountain. So you tell me the names of the two lords who would massacre and sell my people into slavery, all for the resources of one mountain.”
Shutting his mouth tight, the city lord refused to speak out against the two families who had taken this land from the elves two centuries ago.
This conversation had been bound to happen ever since a scout had overheard a conversation between a few nobles. They had been planning to buy some house slaves, mentioning that elves were in high demand now, they had started talking about how the founders of the cities must have had many elf slaves when they took the mountain from them.
Salem didn’t have access to the records regarding the founding clans or their descendants. He had planned on just asking the city lord for access for records that far back, but seeing him so tight-lipped now, the city lord must know something or someone related to the elves destruction.
Thinking of how he would have to deal with the city lord, the twins arrived by his side and held him between them while whispering into his ears. Hearing his knights calming voices, he slowly relaxed, he thanked the twins with a kiss and a promise, returning to his usual calm he moved the city lord to kneel before him.
“Before I rip this meeting out of your mind I’m going to have you answer my original question, it is going to hurt, I didn’t plan on doing this because you might just lose your mind. Consider me not allowing the undead to swarm this city my clans’ mercy, though when I take back this mountain I might just destroy those two clans your so adamant about protecting.”
“Wait.”
Before he had even begun trying to break into the city lords mind, he heard the city lords voice, curious as to why the man so adamant before would ask for him to wait he looked at the man. Though he had a little fear and panic on his face it didn’t seem all there was to it, “Why should I wait you have answers I want, regarding a rather serious matter, tell me why I should wait to flay your mind until all you can do is drool?”
The city lord looked at Salem, “I will tell you everything you want to know but there is a price, protect my daughter, should they find out I spoke about them they might kill her. So that my price for the information on which clans took the mountain do you agree?”
Seeing the city lord begging for his daughters’ sake, Salem kept his face with as little emotion as possible, thinking it over he pulled a ring from thin air, “I will agree to it, but you and your daughter will bend the knee, becoming vassals to my family you will remain in charge of your forces and will march to battle should I call.”
Dispersing his tails Salem waited for the city lords response. He watched the city lord bowing his head, Lord Renwei took a deep breath and lunged at Salem, who was standing close to him so he might brand his soul. A blow landed on his stomach forcing him to bend forward slightly he felt another blow land against the side of his face turning his vision black.
Coming back to himself beneath the water, Salem could feel the turbulence in the water, the fight hadn’t ended yet. Shaking away the dizziness he stood up to see that the twins had wounded the city lord, though they had small wounds themselves and were bleeding from their noses. He quickly summoned his tails and pierced them through the city lords limbs and lifted the bleeding man into the air.
He wrapped the city lord with his tails and covered his mouth, “That was an unwise decision, and here I thought you were respectable among the humans, but it must have been your acting and willingness to betray others that got you this far.”
Salem motioned for the twins to follow him as he exited the bath with the floating city lord. He made his way through the mansion, some knights followed while some servant closed doors to prevent the children from watching this strange site.
Making it into the smithy he gave the city lord to his knights, taking a hammer and chisel from the rack of tools and a knights ring from a storage container. Reheating the ring, the runes lit up for all to see, though no one knew exactly what they meant. The twins stepped forward seeing their master was going work, they held the ring firmly with tongs, Salem began to etch and scrape away runes replacing them so it was no longer a lord and his knights’ connection.
This ring would make the human a slave, the power of the ring would burrow into the bearers mind forcing them to obey, should they choose to disobey the master it would start to pull their mind into pieces.
<System warning>
“Master Salem, I would advise not going through with this plan of action, similar actions have been tried but an unwilling ringbearer will die quickly and will become a dull and stupid tool not bringing any benefit. I would advise however that your previous plan may not be perfect, it would suit your needs, besides you could always kill him later master Salem.”
Hearing the cold voice of the system, he pulled back from his anger, looking at the ring he saw no beauty in it, so he threw it into the forge and watched it melt into molten metal.
Turning to his beautiful knights he saw them looking at him with curiosity and affection, he preferred his followers to want to be with him, “Go to the battlefield find Jennah and Annah, tell them to grab as many undead as you can in the next week. Sarrah, Sasha after we take care of him and we are clean, I’m all yours.”
With the knights leaving, the twins watched their master as he tore into the city lord, they smiled and held each other’s hands knowing that he was being extra cruel to the man on the floor because he wounded them. After a few minutes, they had forgotten about the city lord and his cries of pain, they were more interested in how long they would have to wait for their master to look at them.
