Rise of The Immortal Wraith - 25 Meeting In The Palace part 1
Salem rode with along the tunnel his knights keeping up with him, “Jennah, what happened out there I felt you were severely wounded and why did you bring back our kin? If I had known, I could have met you along the way with a larger force.” Salem asked in a worried tone.
Jenna took away her mask and kissed the side of his mask, “Thank you for caring about me master,” she said letting out a giggle, “We had distributed news that you were on the mountain, with a city in its depths, to as many elven villages as we could. The last village we found was under siege from the undead, there were too many to destroy so I did what I thought you would do. We also let those false rumors about there being a magus coming to these lands, I hope we succeded master.”
Putting away his own mask he smiled at her, “I am just glad you made it back alive, though I’m sure you are happy to hear that your mission was very successful, the refugees have even allowed me to break terms with Koftas. That is good so that I can rename terms for the use of my obelisks, and it will be less fair of an offer then what I had given them.”
Riding along he enjoyed the scenery, it was no longer a tunnel, there were silver trees with many colors of bright leaves upon their crown, each tree had a single color which glowed in the dark. The path slowly opened into a cavern that went into deepest parts of the dark, moving along the came to a wall.
This wall was not built, it was carved from the mountain itself, it rose to the heights of the caver where even the sharpest of eyesight would fail to see the roof. Outside of a very large stone gate was the refugees and wraiths that had been sent ahead, they watched as Salem rode past them, they had never seen an elf with such dark skin, or with a jewel embedded in their forehead.
The gate slowly opened as he approached, looking back at the elves he turned to face them, “I welcome you to Minas Lusta mil Luna, you can refer to it as Void city in the common tongue, I am aware of saying “The void city that loves the dark” would be a little long winded.
I am Salem Belegast, lord of this mountain and I offer you shelter in my city I would ask that after you settle into your lodgings that your leader come to see me, now any questions can wait till later please follow closely.”
Salem brought his horse around and entered the gate, he heard the crowd following him in, looking forward to the view he moved swiftly to the end of the tunnel. The outer wall was one hundred feet thick, the pure stone had runes carved into it, compressing and hardening the stone.
Making it to the end of the tunnel Salem saw the sunlight that shone upon his mountain, the enchantment was under his control and he could always make a fake image to occupy the sky. Though he was more fond of what it looked like currently than a what had already come before.
The warmth of the sun greeted him, in front of him lay a city with high walls a waterfall from far into the distance spilling into the cavern and filled a lake, it then swept down a river creating a small moat in front of the city. Silver trees were everywhere stretching for miles, past the wall there was a massive black tree the size of a palace, it reached all the way into the clouds.
There were only a few other large building inside the city, the rest was still being built or grown by magic, the crowd behind him slowly spread out taking in the view of a place that shouldn’t exist inside of a mountain, it was so grand they could hardly believe it was real.
Even Annah and Jenna stopped and took in a quick breath, looking at their new home, and it had all been made by their master. Salem looked over his handy work, with a pleased smile spreading on his face he nudged his horse forward.
After entering the city Salem took everyone to the large tree, he designated the large buildings to his left for the refugees to use, he would set up a feast later that evening for his new guests. He walked toward the tree, now that they were closer they could see that there were a black wall and gate around the tree, but it was made of the roots of the tree.
The wall was twenty feet high and twenty feet thick, much smaller compared to the great wall that guarded the entire lands of the Salem now owned. The gates parted at his advance sliding into the wall and ground, Salem enjoyed this scene every time he saw it, his knights followed him in with the twins having seen it before they held their chest out proudly leading the way for the others.
Walking up to the tree the twins showed their rings to the wall, and a doorway opened for them, they explained to the others that the rings could be used as a pass to the palace. Floor one through twenty is for servants and other staff, while twenty-one to twenty-five would be for any crafting materials and work related to them.
The remaining floors would be for inner clansmen or potential knights and apprentices, with the top two floors being for him and his personal guard. Walking into his palace Salem went to the center, there were no stairs, only platforms of silver metal.
Standing on one of the platforms he willed it to rise to the top, moving quickly he arrived a the top of his palace where his chambers were located. Exiting the lifts and walking through another sealed doorway he entered his chambers, the room went all around the tree. It was sectioned off into different halls and chambers for his knights and guards so that they might have a home of their own.
His knights walked in and looked around the hall, “Find your rooms, and settle in, this is our home now and no one can take it from us.” Salem spoke gently to his most faithful of followers, they had chosen to follow him for their own reasons when he had no factions or power, he could only make each of them a simple promise. He would never abandon them, for they were his and he was theirs, he had made this oath to each one of them and transcribed it and their names into the rings he crafted for them.
Each of his knights approached and gave him a kiss or a hug with sweet and caring smiles before they left to claim their rooms. Jenna, Annah, and the twins stayed with him, the twins kept the other knights busy with orders and tasks getting ready for the feast in the evening. Jennah and Annah, on the other hand, had missed their master dearly so they took a bath. Cleaning each other quickly turned to play and in turn, came to sweet and tender kisses and lovemaking.
Though Annah had intended to let Jennah and her master have their moments alone, she had watched for a while longer than planned, Jenna had taken her hand and invited her into the bed.
Unable to refuse this tempting offer she once again embraced her master, though this time she knew that she wanted to experience what Jennah had, all of his attention alone, and this time she got exactly what she wanted.
As dusk approached, Salem was once again in the bath, though the twins were behaving and only wanted to be close with him he could never know when they might want just a little more, after finishing cleaning themselves he redressed in his silver robes and walked to his study. He had asked a knight to find the representative of the elf clan they had rescued, and invite them to have a discussion on what he could do for them.
He did not have to wait very long before he could sense them coming, and once again he felt that pulling sensation. Entering his chamber he had his back to them, pouring himself some tea to hopefully calm this sensation.
Turning around the cup in his hand hit the floor smashing into small fragments of glass.
