Rise of The Immortal Wraith - 41 Invasion
Salem stepped onto the road leading to Koftas, behind him were his girls and an army of thirty thousand wraiths. With him was also two legions of archers from the elf clans, the elves had been more than willing to assault the human cities when they learned of the slavery and trafficking of their kins children.
He looked to the sky as the sun began to rise as he remembered his first council meeting. The leader of the Skal clan, Navi, had the most emotional reaction as she had tried to blast a hole through one of the palace walls when he had told the council why he was marching to war.
Apparently, he wasn’t the only one prone to emotional outbursts. She ranted and swore in several languages for ten minutes before she finally calmed down. Salem swore he had heard goblin and orc in the colorful speech, he couldn’t speak every language and there were a few terms he couldn’t quite place.
It would seem she wanted to flay them alive and rip the muscles and tendons from their bodies. She would then heal the external wounds and let them rot in a dungeon which would sustain their needs, unable to move, forever trapped in their own bodies until the magic failed to sustain them.
The throne room had been a little chilly after that, the rest of the meeting went as to be expected, the dwarves argued against everything the elves from the plains had brought up.
The river elves, humans, and drow each fought one another over land distribution, luckily he had given the dwarves their own lands beforehand or it could have become a bloodbath.

The river elves requested to be near the small lake and waterfall, the drow chose to stay within the shadow of his tree while the forest elves naturally took to the forest surrounding the city.
The humans preferred the city and chose to stay within it just like the drow had, the elves from the plains chose to stay in the fertile lands that were being cleared for more stables and other herds that were being raised.
Luckily no one had come to blows, though he was sure if he wasn’t there the dwarves might have started a brawl with the Talath clansmen.
Salem didn’t want to bring up their disputes during the meeting and he frankly didn’t have the patience to find out what had happened with them. Time wasn’t on their side and he needed to take control over the rest of the mountain.
The undead had begun their assault on the barrier, though the first few waves were cannon fodder, thousands of undead were rushing into the barrier hoping to drain the energy source through sheer numbers. Fortunately, they were only feeding the barrier soul energy, instead of draining it, though eventually someone would notice this and halt the waves of nourishment.
Salem watched the sunrise before giving the order to move forward, they approached the southern gate to Koftas, it had been heavily fortified since his last visit. The guards on the walls spotted the approaching army and raised the alarm, arrows rained down upon the guards without warning, Salem had had enough of playing nice.
The guards closed the gates and dropped the portcullis, stopping any chance to assault the gate without war machines.
The wraiths charged forwards, Salem ordered them to scale the walls and slaughter anyone who got in the way. Navi and Annah stepped forward and began casting their spells, the world bending to their wills. Navi sent a black sphere hurtling towards the gates, it didn’t destroy the gate but corroded it.
Anna finished her spell soon after and launched a fireball the size of a head at the gate, the fireball grew and grew until it was the size of a large carriage by the time it impacted the gate.
It exploded on contact, melting the portcullis and turning the gate, and any nearby guards into charcoal.
Wraiths ran towards the blackened gate like a flooding black river, a loud crack sounded as they slammed their shoulders against the charred wood.
Salem teleported to the top of the gate, his mace in one hand and a tomahawk in the other, his sudden appearance lead to chaos as he unleashed his fury upon the guards.
His tails and wings whipped about the guards tossing them from the walls, anyone who got into a melee with him would be cut by his ax or crushed under the powerful mace.
Blood had splashed upon his silver horned mask, he stood alone but the guards were paralyzed by fear looking at the demon before them, they had stopped their assault realizing they didn’t stand a chance.
“Surrender or Die!” Salem roared over the battlefield, his wraiths took two steps back and raised their weapons at the guards, ready to resume the battle.
A guard swiftly threw his weapon to the ground and raised his hands, the other guardsmen followed his example. There were a few who ran at the wraiths having lost their minds during the slaughter. They were restrained quickly, they had been on the edge of mental collapse and were easily subdued.
Salem had them sent back to the fort, they had surrendered and he would not let his grudges make him dishonor himself. They deconstructed the gate and began making a fort inside the southern entrance of the city.
He had his commanders move slowly through the southern district, coming through every house to evacuate the citizens. Salem had given an order that if any children were found they were to immediately move them back to Void City and be taken directly to the palace.
If he found their families then he would return them, if not then he would adopt them, they were innocent and deserved a family, he would provide them with a home and protect them, growing up without hunger or fear.
It took six hours before his troops ran into enemy forces, the chaos in the city had deteriorated any chance of a unified defense. Most of the largest factions had their leaders following his orders, so he was not too surprised at the lack of resistance.
The enemy surrendered quickly after they were surrounded, they saw the Belegast crest on the weapons and knew the elves had invaded, a few scouts had managed to get away but no one was concerned, they had invaded openly by request of noble houses to end the madness and slaughter of their people.
