Rise of The Immortal Wraith - 6 My Name
One minute, it was only one minute, and it was hell. If anyone had told him that it was going to be this painful he would have laughed in their face and done it anyway because the pain of turning a skeleton to living flesh was unfathomable.
In those sixty seconds, he was able to pass out for a brief moment before the intense pain woke him up for another round of suffering, and then it stopped and he felt the pounding of his heart, the pain receded with each beat of his new heart he breathed in for the first time in his existence and the air was sweet no it was glorious he thought.
He opened his eyes everything was crisp and clear like a filter had been lifted off the world, colors were sharper, his vision strong enough to spy the wings of a fly for six hundred yards away. He breathed in again catching the faint metallic taste in the air on his nose and tongue, closing his eyes he listened he could hear the whimpering of the citizens through the stone walls as if he stood over them. “S-tatus,” his first time using his vocal cords came out coarse and unrefined, pulling up his status screen to check on what had changed with his body.

Cough! Cough!
“System, what is a Void Elf and why is it high?, “Inheritor there was a slight issue with your body, the skeleton came from what is known as a dark elf or a drow though the drow are excellent warriors and can use magic most of the drow, especially males, had lost a great deal of magic affinity in Fire, light, wood, and lightning elements.
This lead to the decision to give you a drop ofblood from High elf clan that had produced mages with those aspects to offer you a wider variety of paths to choose from, that was not the issue, the crystal in your forehead had the essence blood of void devouring beast that had contaminated your drow bloodline and produced this mutation.
“Only time will tell if this was a boon or not, as for the other question it is only the rank of your bloodline, making you a noble of your kin. Have you thought of what you wished to be called inheritor?”
“Not yet, can you show me my reflection?” as he asked the status screen enlarged and showed his reflection. Standing opposite him was a five and a half foot tall youth he had a midnight blue skin tone on the darker side, silver hair that reached the middle of his back, elongated pointy ears.
Bright green eyes that seemed to faintly glow, stared back at him in the mirror, he took note that there was a bright green gem on his forehead looking almost like a third eye.
Examining himself in the mirror he was pleased by what he saw, even after death his maker still had a way to create beautiful things.”My name will be Salem,” he stated with confidence towards his own reflection.
“Acknowledged Master Salem.” The cold voice of the system replied, feeling a slight chill on his skin he realized he was naked, walking towards the end of the alley he noticed a few dead rats, “I need a few scouts,” standing over three dead rats, Salem began to focus his mind and energy into his {raising undead} he felt his energy reaching the rat and collapsed on contact.
Scrunching his eyebrows he tried again, over and over, until ten minutes later he had a single rat standing in front of him with a pale green light in its eyes. Sweat rolling off his forehead he finally began to relax, until the rat started to eat another of the potential scouts, “stop,” he said, it didn’t, he focused his energy into his {comand undead} and tried again, “Stop,” he said with a little more force.
It stopped and stood there unmoving “come” he ordered and the rat came to his feet looking up at him, he sat next to the rat for five minutes testing his commands, he found there was a tether like a bond between him and his little minion that he could send commands through silently.
Another five minutes passed and he had another rat under his control, having his scouts move out of the alley there was an abandoned building not far away.
Crash!
Turning to look behind him there was a young man in armor not quite the right size, trying to stand up from what Salem assumed was a fall similar to his own off the top of the wall. A little surprised and the young mans fortitude and unsure of what to do, he stood there until he could hear a whisper on the teens’ lips, “Please help I don’t want to die,”knowing exactly what and how this teen felt he moved forward and started to drag the teen towards the abandoned building just down the street.
As he entered the building he had a rat stay outside to keep watch, he dragged the teen towards a bed in the corner of the back room, fumbling with the clasps on the armor he finally got off the annoying hunk of metal, no chain mail only leather underneath was much easier to handle.
He eased the stranger onto the bed, there were no external injuries but there were a few crack ribs and a broken ankle.
Looking around the house he found a drawer filled with clothes, half of which were woman’s clothing, which he tossed away until he found a white linen cloth shirt, underwear and a pair of leather trousers that were a little long and wide on the waist so he took the soldiers sword belt that was laying on the floor and strapped it on. The sheath and sword were missing but the dagger at the back was still attached giving him a weapon in case his skills he was unable to use with pure confidence of success. Looking around he found a thin leather strap that he used to tie his long silver hair into a ponytail, hearing a groan, he turned to the injured teen on the bed.
Staring at each other in silence for a few awkward seconds in silence “Hi my name is Salem, what’s yours?”
