There were many ways to deal with the goblins in Add’s mind. The simplest was to drop a few bombs on their camp at precise locations and enjoy the mayhem. He had access to some powerful time bombs in the system shop with the CP he currently had that could surely kill tens of goblins and if placed in proper positions, killing hundreds in one go was not a problem. But this although being simple and effective, was wasteful, in the sense that it could scare the goblins and make them scatter. This mission gave him a 2x bonus on each goblin killed, so any goblin which escaped, meant valuable Exp. and CP lost. So he had to figure out something which would allow him to complete the mission efficiently, all the while maximizing his Exp. and CP gains. For this, he had made a plan, but first there was the need to obtain intelligence on the goblins.
He purchased a small surveillance drone for 1000 CP. The drone he chose was a remote controlled quad-copter which was white in colour. Quad copters can lift more loads than airplane or helicopter drones, and they give more stability compared to other types of drones. There were a few key factors to keep in mind when buying a drone. The Camera, The Range, The Flight Time, Stability and ease of operation and maintenance. Considering all these factors, he chose the drone. Its model name was ‘DX Phantom-5’. It had a maximum cruising altitude of 6000 metres, with a horizontal range of 2000 metres. It had a overall size of 2 feet across with the wingspan of 2.5 feet. It weighed a little over 2 kilograms, and had a maximum speed of 60 Kmph (in still wind). The battery on this thing was also a good Lithium polymer 8S with a capacity of 150 Volts and 8000 mAh, which could carry it for maximum of 1 hour depending on the usage. Coming to the most important feature was the camera which was a 25 MP 4K UHD video camera which was capable of live feed, and also had infrared vision. It was attached under the drone with a lot of room for rotation in three dimensions that made its field of view quite large. The controller had a separate battery and a built in screen to display the video which was sent back by the drone through hyper speed WI-FI signals. The drone and controller could be recharged by a standard charger.
All this made the drone a very good choice for spying. It was silent and its small size was hard to spot at height, making it very stealthy. He purchased a solar charger for charging the batteries of the drone and its controller. There were also many more advanced drones, but they were locked due to level restrictions, and even if they were not, he did not have so much CP to buy the advanced drones. With the drone in his inventory, he left to look for the goblins. To make a proper plan, he had to know the location of their nest, their numbers and their types. Information was the key to winning any battle. This time he wanted to do some reconnaissance, so aside from [Stealth] which allowed him to hide more easily, he looked for something that would help him spot others without being spotted first. And he soon found what he was looking for.

With this skill, he could now sense his surroundings better. He changed into the camouflaged clothes when he arrived at the forest, and was joined by his faithful [Shadow Knights]. His strength had now become equal to them, but their bodies were still sturdier. They would best serve as shields, while he dealt the damage. The group once again began their search for goblin trails. This time, it was even harder to find any goblins, which was expected after the massacre which had happened. Still, Add kept going deeper into the forest, changing directions here and there. He had bought a compass from the system to keep track of direction, and thankfully for him the compass worked just fine on Iseria, pointing north as it should. Though they did not spot any goblins, many other monsters crossed their paths, mostly weak ones which were dealt with by the [Shadow Knights].
The truly dangerous monsters lived in the depths of the forests, on the hills and in the valleys, and that’s why weak monsters like the goblins, could make their territory here and proliferate. After hours of looking, he finally found what he was looking for. A group of goblins at last, however this was not a group of normal goblins. These creatures were a different breed of goblins. At the height of a normal human, also E rank monsters, these were Hobgoblins. Though they were the same rank as normal goblins, these were a larger, stronger, smarter and more menacing breed of goblins and were also better organized. And they were known for their brutal nature and good fighting abilities. This time there were a total of 8 hobgoblins before Add. Different from regular goblins, they were quite muscular, and each one of them was wielding a weapon. Some had rusty long swords, others had spears and axes. Looking at their menacing appearances and weapons, Add frowned;
(Since when did hobgoblins get such weapons ? As far as I know, goblins cannot make weapon, so they must be stolen ? Even if they are rusty and dilapidated, they are real weapons, if more of these creatures have weapons, then it’s no laughing matter)
Thanks to [Perception] he was able to sense them before they saw him. Quickly hiding in the foliage, he signalled the [Shadow Knights] that had been following him a few metres behind to stop so that the hob goblins did not notice them. He gradually neared them while activating [Stealth] until he could finally see them. The group consisted of 8 hobgoblins, and all of them seemed vigilant and alert. Add waited for them to go a little farther and then took out the Phantom-5 drone from the inventory and flew it in the direction that the Hobgoblins had gone in. the [Shadow Knights] were ordered to keep watch around the tree and alert him in case something happened.
The drone quickly found the Hobgoblins and silently kept following them. After following them for half an hour, he confirmed that they were moving in one single direction. The drone increased its speed and overtook them, searching for any clues as to where the next of goblins might be. Along the way, the drone was able to spot a lot of goblins in the area. This clearly pointed that he was closed to the actual nest of the Goblins, but he was still unable to find it. The drone also found traces of many abandoned goblin camps which had been vacated recently. Add who was following the drone so as not to let it go beyond the control range, carefully avoided any goblin group, as he didn’t want to alert them yet.
When the battery on the drone was almost drained and he was thinking of stopping the search, it finally arrived over a large clearing in the forest. Add hovered the drone a kilometre high, and zoomed in to observe. The camera feed showed, what appeared to be a village of Goblins. There were various groups of goblins, some were moving about, some wee building crude shacks out of branches and leaves and some were circling around the clearing, possibly watching out for any intruders. His eyes narrowed as he looked at the swarm of the critters moving about. There were goblins of all sizes here, from the small common one to the armed Hobgoblins an occasionally the kind known as Goblin Champions appeared as well. Add estimated that their number was well over 500 and including the many groups which were moving about, in the forest, there should be near about a thousand goblins. It seemed they were gathering their forces and preparing for something, something big. However he could not spot any goblin that looked like a leader amongst them. This was troubling, as having an unknown factor was always a threat.
After observing for a while, Add had to recall the drone back as the battery was critically low. After the drone returned to him, he linked it to the solar charger and put it on a branch which was being bathed in sunlight. He also found a concealed spot atop the same tree, and temporarily stayed there. Here he began finalising the plan of action. He was up against a very sizeable force of goblins, and he had to stay cautious when dealing with them. So he decided to apply the most simple tactic used when fighting a force stronger than you. Divide and Conquer. To implement this, he needed the help of some serious firepower as well. For this he purchased 200 sticks of remotely detomnated Dynamite for 400 CP. Each stick was 20 cm long and weighed 250 grams. Next he bought 100 SKN-50 Land mines for a total of 2500 CP. Lastly he also purchased 40 hand grenades. There were of four types, High Explosive (HE), Fragmentation (Frag), Smoke and Flash grenades and he bought 10 of each amounting a total of 800 CP. This would be his main arsenal to deal with the bulk of the goblins, while the guns would be used to deal with the survivors. Keeping in mind the large size of the goblin horde, he decided not to depend more on the AK-47 and take something more powerful. When dealing with hordes of enemies, what was more effective than a machine gun? So he purchased something which he had been wanting to get for some time now. He quickly opened the shop and bought it.

Item : PKP Pecheneg 6P41 NM , 7.6254 mmR general-purpose medium machine gun (Grade Unique)
Description : The PKP Pecheneg (Pulemyot Kalashnikova Pekhotny “Pecheneg”) 6P41 NM is a medium machine gun chambering the standard Russian 7.6254 mmR round. It is a modernised version of the PK machine gun developed by the Legendary Arms inventor Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov.
It comes with a It comes with a Picatinny rail for night vision or telescopic sights, the standard being 1P89-3 unified optical sight and can also equip other optical sights. It also has an additional tactical handle below the barrel for the convenience when firing. The PKP is belt fed and accepts 100-, 200-, 250-round box magazines.
It is intended for use from an integral bipod as a squad support weapon, however it can be used in a two handed carrying fashion as well, and is designed as an anti personnel weapon. It provides more sustained firepower than the PK and its other predecessors, and the 7.6254mmR cartridge offers a longer effective range and better penetration of light structures and improvised covers in most type of environments and battlefields
While it does not perform exceptionally well in terms of accuracy, it is known for its superior performance in suppressing enemies with a muzzle velocity of 900 m/s rate of over 700 rounds per minute and a barrel with improved heat dispersion. Made of titanium alloy, it is a durable, light-weight, and fairly easy to maintain machine gun, which can serve under extreme conditions without a hitch.
Durability : 400/400
Effective Firing Range : 1000 1500 metres
Price : 10,000 CP

The PKP was a very good gun in its class. Its 7.6254 mmR rounds were very powerful and the damage they caused were even greater. Based on the Kalashnikov family of rifles it was a durable, easy to use and maintain weapon, which had stood the test of time. When engaging a large group of enemies alone, at medium range, a machine gun was the best choice. Add had enough experience with improve versions of the PKP and so using it was no problem for him. Although it was much heavier than the AK-47, but to ADD with his increased physical strength, felt no difference. He could haul over half a ton boar with his maximum strength now, a 10 kilogram gun was nothing. The gun came with standard metallic sights and had a preloaded 100 round box magazine, it was ready to shoot and shed some blood.
The most deadly among all that he chose was however, the SKN-50 Anti-personnel land mine. It is a circular and slightly concave shaped, plastic bodied, directional type of anti-personnel mine. It is designed to wound or kill by explosive fragmentation. The mine contains 700g of RDX (1,3,5-Trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine) explosive. When a person steps on the mine’s trigger whic is located at its centre, the trigger activates the mine, and the mine’s main charge detonates, creating a blast shock wave consisting of hot gases travelling at extremely high velocity. The shock wave sends a huge compressive force upwards, propelling approximately 540 steel balls to a lethal range of 50 meters in a all directions above ground. it also comes in a remotely detonated variant, which has no trigger on the landmine itself but can which can be activated using a detonator from over 200 metres away.
Belonging to the same type as the Claymore landmine, the SKN-50 was a much better weapon for its job. And that job was simple. Wait for someone to step on them, and then blast that person with a salvo of small metal spheres, Turing meat and bones into Swiss cheese. Add bought its remotely detonated version, as that was more affective for his plans. After having purchased all he needed, he was left with little over 2,000 CP. After confirming all his preparations, he found an area near the goblin village that was suitable for laying an ambush. Taking care not to be spotted by the goblins, he carefully began setting up the mines in all locations, he felt the goblins could arrive from. The dynamite sticks were also placed in a similar way, they were far more explosive than the mines, but since they had no shrapnel their lethality depended on the resulting shockwave of the explosion. The grenades were kept within the inventory and would be used as required. He then ordered the [Shadow Knights] to attack any goblins they saw , kill one or two and then quickly return here.
He planned to use the [Shadow Knights] as bait and lure the goblins to him. Going into the village of goblins was risky, so we would pull them out to his kill zone. As the [Shadow Knights] left, Add took a spot among the trees a bit further away from where he had placed the mines and explosives. He didn’t had to wait long as the [Shadow Knights] soon returned with a large group of goblins following them. The group which included both regular goblins and hob goblins, seemed to be very angry and enraged as they madly chased and hacked at the [Shadow Knights]. There were no goblin champions, however. When the [Shadow Knights] neared about 50 metres from Add where he could use his [Perception] skill most effectively, they both separated and moved in opposite sides, clearing Add’s line of fire. From his hiding spot behind a tree he fired with the AK-47 at the group, aiming for the Hobgoblins first. He fired at a slow rate, wanting to see how effective the 7.39 mm rounds were against them.
*RATATA*—–*RATATA*—-*RATATA*
The first hobgoblin took a shot in its abdomen, and staggered back, but it didn’t die. Its rage increase even more unable to see what or whom had hit it. It took 5 more shots in its chest before it fell dead. Add didn’t leave his spot and from the cover of the bushes kept shooting, changing magazine after magazine, as the brass shells kept rolling out of the extractor. A shot landed on another hobgoblin’s head, instantly killing it. The smaller goblins were killed instantly with one or two shots. In no time, over a dozen goblins had died, and the remaining tried to flee. But sadly for them, they would not have the chance. Rushing out of his hiding spot Add opened fire once again, this time in full auto and shot dead the remaining ones. As he stood looking at the corpses, Add kept thinking. It was a efficient and quick, however, he was not at all satisfied after this hunt. Even with the AK-47’s powerful bullets, it was not easy to kill the hobgoblins. It was not the weapon’s fault though; it was designed to kill humans of Earth, who were normal in every sense of the word, and not monsters.
[Ding! You have killed Hobgoblin x 6]
[Ding! You have killed goblin 11]
[Ding! You have received 4600 Exp. and 2300 CP]
“Twice the rewards indeed….”
Add hummed. But looking at the hob goblin corpses, his brows wrinkled.
(I am afraid pretty soon I will face an enemy which the AK-47 cannot kill)
He slung the rifle onto his back and took the PKP machine gun in his arms.
“[Shadow Knights] continue”
At his command the two [Shadow Knights] again went to attract more goblins, while Add quietly waited in the shadows. His plan was simple. Lure more and more goblins to him, and kill them here. He was sure that whatever it was that was leading the goblins, would realise what was happening and attack him with full force. That was when he would take them down in one fell swoop. As he waited in silence, what accompanied him was the occasional chirping of insects and the faint rustle of leaves that moved in the breeze. He was reminded of a mission he did back on Earth. He was part of a 20 man platoon which was sent to the Balkan peninsula to take down an important enemy official. They had spent two days out in the silent and almost dead forest, covered in leaves and dirt, hiding in dug in trenches, blending with the soil, and very forest itself. The target was on a train which would cross the forest. When the mission was finally over, only 5 of the 20 had survived. He and the other 4 survivors, buried their fallen comrades in the very same forest, only the eternal silence of accompanying them this time. In that year, in that forest, they had forever become part of nothingness. For who knew how many of his kind had been buried in such forests, how many had drowned in the lakes rivers and seas, how many were left with nothing to be buried at all. The memories of that life, those years, they were only dreams now, yet a dream he would forever remember. He was only woken up from his reminiscing as another group of goblins arrived chasing the [Shadow Knights]. He shook his head clearing the thoughts of the past and readied himself.
“This game never changes.”
He muttered as the first goblin appeared in his sight. The group this time was even larger than the previous one. Making it even more profitable for Add. Unknowingly a small smile crept up his lips as a familiar craving crept into his mind. That unquenchable thirst for blood.
“Still, I love this game.”
He did not hide this time, he did not need to, and the enraged goblins attacked him. The death rattle once again began playing itself in the silent forest, the tunes comprising of the wails, the cries and the gun shots. Death was the same on Iseria as it was on Earth. If you die you die. Death was his only companion, and it would be until it claimed himself as well.
