Rise Of Void Dragons - Chapter 2
“Qiqi”
A boy in his early teens shouted hoarsely as tears continuously ran down his cheeks as if gates of a dam were opened. His unkempt hairs were shining with a crimson glow and his white shirt was spoiled with fresh rusty blood while he held a young girl with a cold body in his embrace.
Putong!
He fell down weakly on his knees and as if holding onto his most precious belonging, he held the girl tightly in his embrace and continued crying with tears falling down without making a single note of sound.
..
Huf Huf Huf
Wang Ming abruptly woke up from his sleep and started breathing heavily.
The scene before was his dream, but it wasn’t actually a dream. It was his past, and the guy crying in that dream was him.
“To think that I am still alive God surely knows how to punish me.” Controlling his pace of breathing he calmed down and scanned his surroundings, before shaking his head in disappointment.
Wang Ming was the same guy who met with the accident this morning and was miraculously saved. But, currently, his face full of disappointment and sorrow, showing his dislike towards the miracle.
“Qiqi, I know you are punishing me. Please let me join you.” He faced the ceiling and said softly, a cold expression slowly crept on his glowing face.
While other guys of his age were busy dealing with life and enjoying it, he, on the other hand, was a guy who clearly wasn’t happy from his life and the world itself. If not for his parents, he would have already ended his life.
Today while he was rushing from his home towards his dorm to keep his belongings and then join the classroom, he met with an accident. Since this was not planned by him, he got excited and happy that he met with an accident that can claim his life.
While the heavy truck was approaching him with its full speed, his expression became calm and serene. A small yet rare smile appeared on his face before his vision slowly darkened and he felt hot liquid flowing through his body.
‘Come hit me truck-Kun’
But who would have thought that his time to reach the heavens hadn’t arrived yet?
“Student Wang Ming, you are really favoured by heavens! Even after such an accident, you still survived.” A nurse opened the door of his chamber and spoke as she saw him looking at the ceiling in a daze.
“Favoured by heavens? More like cursed by it.” He muttered in a low voice, not audible to the nurse approaching him.
Coming to his bed, the nurse used a hand-operated sphygmomanometer to take a note of his blood pressure.
“You can leave after a week of taking rest. You only suffered a fracture in your left arm.” The young nurse chuckled a bit before continuing, “Can you pass me your luck?”
“Ohk” Wang Ming responded expressionlessly before slowly closing his eyes to take rest or showing his disinterest in continuing the chat.
Humph!
The young nurse humphed upon seeing this and her face stiffened. Even if she wasn’t some celestial beauty, still every guy of the same age group will strike up a conversation with her. But Wang Ming just ignored her.
“What a weird guy. Wait! Is he even a guy?” She got out of the room without glancing back again and closed the door with a loud bang.
Wang Ming opened his eyes slowly and kept staring at the ceiling as if he was meditating, and was free from mortal shackles of the world.
He wasn’t like this from the very beginning, but that incident of losing Qiqi, changed his world and he became dark and devoid of life even though his name literally means bright.
Having no friends in the university, no one came to visit him in the next few days and his normal lifeless life continued for a week until he was discharged from the hospital.
Apart from his fractured left hand, there wasn’t any other injury on his body. Even the doctors were surprised. How can anyone be this lucky? He should have isekaid after the hit but he was surprisingly all good.
‘Damn! Why is heaven so unfair? I want this kind of luck too.’
The doctor who gave him his discharge papers cried out internally.
Taking his discharge papers, belongings and paying the bills, Wang Ming walked towards his dorms.
