Rise Of Void Dragons - Chapter 6
Ning Corporation, one of the biggest and richest companies in the country, its headquarters stands tall in the middle of Nan Hai City with a majestic looking glass-covered building of 70 floors.
Each floor engaged in the core operations of this supergiant company. Directly influencing the economy of the nation. The importance of an individual in this super important company is decided by the floor number of that employee.
With the ground floor filled with the least important people, the position and power of individual increases with each successive floor.
“Hey! Which floor you are working on?”
“Umm 10th floor”
“Che! SCRAM! Can’t even work on the 15th floor, same as me and you dared to reply to me? Who gave you guts? Scram already!”
These kind of talks were extremely common here, giving rise to extreme competition.
On the 4th of the Ning Corporation Headquarters.
“Ruxue! Where are the interns you promoted last week? Why can’t I find them?” A man dressed up in a complete black office suit equipped with a serious-looking face and thick spectacles shouted at a petite female in a similar black business suit.
“Sir… Sir, I.. I” She stuttered due to fear of the man standing in front of him.
“Why are you stuttering for? Tell me clearly.” Noticing the incapability of the girl in front of him, the man got irritated and shouted again.
“Sir Jinhao They are absent today.” Not daring to stutter again or tell a lie, she uttered the truth timidly.
“Absent?!” Sir Jinhao exclaimed in fury and banged the desk.
Ye Ruxue stepped back in fear.
Looking at the furious reaction of the higher up, she closed her eyes timidly in fear and nodded her head. From the looks of her reaction, one can easily deduce her real character to be an innocent and timid girl.
As if petrol was added to the burning fire, Sir Jinhao blasted in fury, “Mere interns dare to slack off?! Is Ning Corporation a place where we breed pigs and chickens? Fire them now! They aren’t supposed to enter even the ground floor of the building.”
Ning Corporation, since its establishment always maintains proper discipline and punctuality in its employees, yet a small group of mere interns is not present in office without applying for any official leave. Are they treating this place as their village’s farmhouse?
“Yes sir.” Not daring to deny the orders from the Junior HR manager of the department, Ye Ruxue turned back to execute the orders immediately but at that time, her phone rang with a notification.
Opening the message, she saw a leave application and some documents attached to it.
After reading it in a hurry, the stress on her face got relieved a bit and she turned back to face the Junior HR manager.
“What now? You want to leave your job too?” Su Jinhao was already super irritated. ‘Why are these people not behaving properly nowadays?’
“No.. No.” Ye Ruxue shook her head in hurried denial, “Sir, One of the promoted interns submitted a valid leave application. Should I fire him too?”
“Valid leave application? Pass it to me. Let me see the reason.” With a frown on his face, Su Jinhao extended his arm to accept the mobile phone from the Intern Manager, Ye Ruxue.
She passed the phone to him and then heaved a sigh of relief. If she can successfully train and promote an intern to a regular office worker then she’ll also get some credits for it, which in turn will help her raise her pay.
“Wang Ming Fractured Hand Road Accident Admitted to hospital for 7 days Valid Police Report. Good, it’s a valid leave application. He’ll not be fired.” Su Jinhao nodded in approval after seeing the application and passed the phone back to Ye Ruxue and then continued, “Ask him to join the team from tomorrow. Even if he can’t use his left hand, he’s a right-handed person. So he’ll have to work. But, you’ll have to still fire other people.”
“Yes sir.” Ye Ruxue responded in delight and left the fourth floor and headed back to her place of work on the 3rd floor.
….
Wang Ming just woke up from his sleep, after viewing the frightening Dragon in his dream when his phone kept on the table beside his bed rang.
He bent to his side and picked up the phone, looking at the caller ID his expressionless face contracted in fear, “Crap! Am I fired after not attending the training event?”
The caller ID showed: Manager Ye
Not daring to delay any further, he picked up the call.
“Wang Ming, you’ll have to be present in the office, tomorrow. Or you’ll be fired.” A sweet, melodious yet authoritative voice of Ye Ruxue came through the speaker. It was miles ahead from the timid tone she used in front of Su Jinhao.
“Yes… Yes.” Wang Ming was expecting her to shout. ‘You are fired!’ but he surprised. He then adapted quickly and replied assertively.
Ye Ruxue was happy after listening to the confirmation and then after asking about his health the call was disconnected.
“Thank God if I would have been fired, I would have to remain without food. Then I would have died starving.” He shook his head in comfort and kept his phone back on the table, forgetting about the dragon in the dream.
‘Huh? Wasn’t it a good opportunity to die? Crap! I missed it.’
