Roll Land System: Release That Rock - Chapter 10
“What is it, Roland?” Anna asked.
Roland’s eyes twinkled and he said, “Pass the piece of marble to me.”
Roland clutched at Rocky who had a dark line spanning across him. Roland stared at Rocky and asked, “Can you understand me? Squeak once.”
Rocky had already fainted from the pain and couldn’t respond. Dustina was seeing this whole scene from a corner of the room and asked Dustin, “Oh no! What to do! Master might get killed at this point!”
Dustin replied blandly, “Have you at least tried to tell master to wake up?”
Dustina felt like an idiot. How could she forget about such an obvious solution? Dustina and Dustin both screamed at Rocky to wake up through their mental communication channels. “WAKE UP MASTER! YOU’RE GOING TO DIE IF YOU DON’T!”
Rocky was jolted back to reality and felt his head throbbing from vibrations. Roland tossed Rocky to Anna and said, “Nevermind. Carry on.”
Rocky already quickly learned what had happened from Dustina and Dustin and he rapidly yelled, “Stop!”
Anna paused with a thin thread of intense heat hovering over Rocky. She raised an eyebrow, “Do I keep going?”
Roland told Rocky, “Squeak twice if you understand me.”
Rocky yelled, “YES! YES!”
Barov was stunned, “That piece of marble actually understands us! Are you sure we shouldn’t send it to the church instead?”
Roland waved Barov off and continued interrogating Rocky, “Do you want to be split in half or not? Squeak once for yes and twice for no.”
Rocky cursed, “Of course not! Why the hell would I want to be split in half? I’m not suicidal!”
Nightingale jumped back in and remarked, “That piece of marble sure can squeak a lot.”
Roland questioned himself, “Was I wrong?”
Roland asked Rocky the same question again to which Rocky replied, “Nope, nope.”
Roland gave the marble to Barov and instructed him, “Send him to the Alchemist Workshop for the time being. Make it absolutely clear that I am borrowing it to them to examine and that they absolutely cannot lose it.”
Barov needed no further instruction. Giving a small bow, Barov left with Rocky and placed Rocky in a box. Rocky elatedly said, “Back on track! Time for a vacation!”
He heard Barov whisper to the carriage driver, “Don’t forget to show the letter. Keep the box safe for His Highness. Remember, it is only a two-week loan to them. Don’t come back until you have the entire marble intact and without damage.”
Rocky couldn’t see anything inside the box but it was surprisingly comfortable. He rested on a rich velvet cloth and was placed like a precious treasure. Rocky smiled inwardly, “Oh, this is the best. I’m finally treated like rock royalty. A soft bed to rest on, nobody trying to slice me apart, a warm house to live in, and I’m moving so far without doing anything!”
