Roll Land System: Release That Rock - Chapter 21
While Rocky was in pain, the invisible carpet demon was screeching loudly. Zero gasped and quickly told one of the witches, “Get the piece of copper out! Now!”
The witch hurriedly used her powers and summoned two hands made of water. The two hands rushed inside the flaming forge. Emitting a hiss of steam as it dove in. The two hands quickly grasped at Rocky and tossed him out onto the ground.
Zero furrowed her brows and said uncertainly, “Is this some sort of demon wrapped around the piece of copper?”
The witch who fished Rocky out of the forge asked uncertainly, “Do I toss the philosopher’s stone back in?”
Zero held up a hand and said, “Not yet. Let’s wait a few days. We were too rash but luckily, we noticed the demon inside. Otherwise, who knows whether the staff might have become corrupted by the demon inside. We should do a more thorough investigation of its background even if it takes longer.”
The witch that conjured the two hands of water nodded. Using those two hands of water, she carefully placed Rocky inside a cage of water on the ground. The cage was not filled with calm water but rapidly moving, torrential water. The water was moving at an extremely fast speed, making bars that held Rocky in. It was extremely painful to be scraped by the cold, rushing water and it was to prevent others from stealing Rocky while the witches were away.
Afterward, she used the two hands of water to quickly shred the no longer invisible carpet demon to pieces. As it was torn apart, it emitted bone-chilling screams of pain until it finally went silent forever.
After making sure the cage of water is completed and secured Rocky, Zero nodded and said, “Let’s go Pearl.”
A few days later, inside the same giant room where Rocky was held, Zero furrowed her brows. Next to her were the two witches from before. Zero was holding a parchment and said, “It’s from Border Town? Specifically, from that Prince Roland?”
The parchment Zero was holding was a report about the background of Rocky. The Church had to use many resources from numerous branches to find most of the background information regarding Rocky. Zero continued, “It says here that Prince Roland somehow has two more Philosopher Stones although he doesn’t quite know it yet.”
The witch called Pearl asked, “Do you think he is experimenting with demons? How else would he get those philosopher stones? To be fair, we can’t even be sure they are philosopher stones.”
Zero nodded, “I agree. Shall we arrange for the other two stones to be stolen as well?”
Pearl smiled, “Of course. I shall get to it then.” Pearl bowed slightly and left.
Naturally, all this was heard by Rocky who had long been trapped inside the cage of water. He opened a mental communication channel to tell Dustina and Dustin, “You guys! You were discovered already! How in the world are you guys discreet spies of the D.U.S.T. network? The church is going to kidnap you guys!”
