Roll Land System: Release That Rock - Chapter 22

After Pearl left, Zero’s face darkened as she muttered, “Witch association, eh?” She called for one of the guards standing by the doors, “Call Faceless here.”

A while later, a seemingly old woman walked in and faced Zero. Zero told her, “Faceless, go to Border Town. It seems there’s a new group of fallen witches that have emerged. The information might not be entirely reliable so I’m sending you to check. You know what to do if you find any of them.”

Faceless smiled and replied, “Finally, some opportunities for some fun.”

Rocky yelled at Dustina and Dustin, “A creepy old hag is coming to kill the witches!”

Dustin complained back lazily, “And what are we supposed to do? We can’t move, we can’t talk, our magic is basically still dust level, and it will probably take a while for the Church to get here.”

Dustina replied diligently, “Master, we will practice our dust-level magic diligently! By the time the church gets here, we will have gathered an army of dust balls!”

Dustin asked doubtfully to Dustina, “We will?”

Rocky head Dustina hiss, “Yes!” Dustina then focused on Rocky and said, “Master, we will think of something so don’t worry. By the way, when will you get back?”

Rocky said hesitatingly, “Uhh A while.” Changing the topic, Rocky asked, “So, what’s going on in Border Town so far?”

Unlike the Church’s slow message delivery system, Rocky’s mental communication with the rocks under him allowed him to communicate instantaneously with Dustina. This results in him getting the newest information about Border Town.

Dustin replied uncaringly, “Yeah not much. So, Roland got some new weapons called ‘fiery arms’ that are basically tubes of this thing where soldiers put metal balls inside. They toss in some stuff and it explodes making the metal ball fly super quickly.”

Dustina clarified things for Rocky, “What Dustin meant was that Roland created firearms. Also, Border Town during these months of demons has been doing surprisingly well. The wall has held up and the demons were pushed back. There were also more witches in the Witch Association, which is what Roland calls the group of witches living in his castle. There is also a new road being constructed from Border Town to the Longsong Stronghold.”

Rocky nodded and dismissed them, “That’s enough for now.” He cut the mental communication channel between them. After it was cut he sighed, “Now then, what now? This water cage is extremely plain and boring. Guess it’s time to take a long nap.”

However, Zero turned back towards Rocky with a pondering expression. She muttered, “Even if it is not a demonic rock or a philosopher’s stone, it should at least not be an ordinary rock judging by how it wasn’t melted.”

Zero gestured to another one of the guards who respectfully pulled out a bright, white sword that seemed to glow. It had an empty slot in its hilt that seemed to be meant for a gemstone. She stabbed the sword right into Rocky, causing him to feel like the sword stabbed right into his stomach. Zero chanted, “Sword of God, absorb this for your hilt. Use it to smite the enemies of God and the Church.”

The Sword of God hummed with power and its glow was visible to the eye and it seemed to illuminate the entire room, filling it up with light. Some of the guards began to sing praises for God as they saw this illustrious display of power.

Rocky felt his strength draining and his vision faltering. He weakly asked the system, “What’s happening? Is there nothing I can do?”
