Royal Mob Takes It All - Chapter 61.2
The magic circle began to emit a purple light.
“Everyone! Keep your concentration and keep chanting the spell!”
Agranis chastised the thrilled sorcerers. The chanting continued and the light of the magic circle grew stronger and stronger.
“Kuh…!”
The magicians cover their eyes at the sheer intensity of the light. Agranis was the only one who could see it directly.
“…Ah, nostalgia, exactly the same as 100 years ago…!”
The light showed a final explosive glow – and then subsided.
And then…
“What the hell…? What happened…?”
A voice is heard. It is the voice of a young man. It came from above the magic circle, where the light had subsided. Sitting there were seven men and women in their teens and twenties, dressed in costumes that were very ‘eccentric’ by the standards of this world.
“Where are we, here…?”
The same voice as before is heard. The voice belonged to a young, dark-haired, good-looking man who looked like he would be popular with the ladies, wearing shapely slim trousers and a plain, expensive-looking shirt.
“I was just in the room a moment ago, suddenly, why…?”
The black-haired handsome man stood up on the magic circle and looked around. Immediately afterwards, when he realizes that he is surrounded by several suspicious-looking people surrounding the magic circle, he instantly slumps down.
“What, what, what is it?Who are you?Where am I?”
This was a natural reaction. They were supposed to be in a completely different place in modern Japan, living their own daily lives until now. But before they knew it, they had been transported to a room where the only light they could rely on was the torchlight, and they were surrounded by people in creepy dressing gowns… It was a situation that should have made them feel fear.
And Agranis knew that such a reaction would be forthcoming.
“─ ─ ‘Whole Lights’.”
When Agranis chanted that, poof! A bright light lit up the space.
“Please calm down, everyone──[Seven Warriors].”
When Agranis said this, the gazes of the seven people on the magic circle gathered towards her. Agranis looks over at the seven of them and continues her words with a gentle smile to let their guard down.
“My name is Agranis. I swear I am not an enemy of any of you. I would like to begin by briefly explaining the situation you are all in, so please calm down and listen.”
Most of the seven men and women have anxious expressions on their faces, as if they have no idea what is going on. However, realizing that nothing would progress without listening… they all nodded their heads in an expression of, for the time being.
“Thank you very much. First of all, let’s talk about what happened to you all… how many of you can understand the term [otherworldly transfer]?”
“Otherworldly transfer…”
Of the seven men and women, the young man with the glasses, who was still sitting down, shouted in surprise.
“Another world transfer?” he says, “The kind of transfer that often happens in anime and web novels… that other world transfer…?”
“Yes, I’m sure that’s what you’re thinking.”
Agranis nodded smilingly.
“However, I only heard the same thing from another otherworlder who was summoned to this empire before, and I myself have never seen [Anime] or [web novels], but…”
“Seriously? I’ve come to another world?
The young man with the glasses was so overjoyed that he almost started dancing on the spot.
“…Are there any other people who don’t know about the phenomenon of otherworldly transfer?”
To Agranis’ question, however, no one in particular responded.
“I see. It was convenient for me that you all knew about it, because I didn’t have to explain it to you. Last time, there were some people who didn’t know about it.”
Agranis smiled, “May I have a word?” A dark-haired, handsome man out of the seven raised his hand.
“Yes, what is it?”
“I know about the event called ‘otherworldly transfer’. I know that it is usually caused by some reason, but… why on earth did we transfer? Is the cause of that on your part? And what is this [Seven Warriors] you were talking about earlier…?”
“Yes, these are all very good questions. Let me explain them to you step by step.”
Agranis looks around at the seven of them again in response to the many questions from the dark-haired handsome man.
“As some of you may have guessed, it was the will of the Empire – the country to which we are gathered here – that brought you all to this place.”
The Empire…
“Yes. In other words, the reason you are here is entirely due to our own selfishness. For that, we are very sorry, and we are deeply sorry.”
Agranis bows deeply.
“But, however… there was a reason why we, the Empire, really needed your help.”
“…Reason?”
Agranis squinted sadly at the seven people, including the black-haired handsome man, who were waiting with bated breath for an answer, and her voice trembled.
“Right now, the Empire is on the verge of destruction – due to the barbaric acts of our neighbour, the root of all evil, the Kingdom, which I would like to cover my eyes…”
Agranis sobs and drops to her knees. Large tears were puddling at the edges of her eyes.
“Please, please… we want you, the Seven Warriors who have gained special power through this summoning, to save this empire!”
At Agranis’ pleading, which showed her desperation, the seven summoned ones looked at each other. Most of them had the look of not being able to follow the conversation, but the black-haired handsome man walked up to Agranis and held out his hand.
“…Please don’t cry, Agranis-san.”
“Wha… Seven W-warrior-sama…?”
“Come on, take my hand.”
“But… my hands are now stained with tears…”
“It doesn’t matter, there you go.”
The dark-haired handsome man took Agranis’ hand and gently helped her to her feet.
“A beautiful woman is 100 times more attractive when she’s smiling, so come on, wipe your tears with this.”
“Ah…! Woo, thank you very much!”
The handkerchief offered by the dark-haired handsome man immediately dyes Agranis’ cheeks vermilion (due to the fever magic secretly applied by the imperial magicians breathing around her) and her eyes (which, from the perspective of the surrounding magicians, looks very intentional) start to shine. It was already (to those who did not know Agranis’ true identity) a maiden in love.
The dark-haired hottie must have felt that he had a lottery in his hands.
“I still don’t know what I can do. But if it stops your tears… let’s hear your story.”
He said this with a firm, smug look on his face.
