Run Away, From Me -R15 - Chapter 6. Get Drunk As Much As You Like
The Empress of the Empire died.
The funeral was held for ten days. The workers of the imperial palace were mobilized for a huge event, and Daphne and others had no time to breathe.
Instead of the splendid ornaments adorning the Imperial Palace, black cloth was hung everywhere and decorated with fresh white roses every day.
Priests and distinguished guests from other countries visited the imperial palace, and as the number of guests increased, their duties increased as they were not proportional.
Daphne was run around and eventually had to clean the rooms, which everyone avoided.
The rooms were cleaned daily for the visitors.
Then she looked around her.
Norwell was nowhere to be seen. The stable keepers were whining, was he moved there to help them?
Daphne somehow felt empty as the person who spoke kindly to her disappeared so quickly.
It was rare that people were friendly to her, but once they did, they all disappeared at some point. This was natural given the nature of the palace, where departments change frequently.
Daphne was busy. She didn’t even have time to sit and rest, and she didn’t have a friendly partner with whom she could talk to her. Even if she had four bodies, it wouldn’t be enough, and Daphne forgot the existence of Norwell, and everyone else who had come before.
Because she was more and more worried about Asherad than any man who had only spoken to her once and disappeared.
It was sad that Asherad lost his mother.
But she would be by his side.
Because he was a different kind of superior to her. The funeral was held in a respectful manner. As if Asherad’s sorrow were cast upon his face like a graceful veil.
He asked her to stay by his side.
She wanted to be with him. Wouldn’t it be very difficult?
Could he possibly be crying alone?
The corners of Daphne’s lips lowered as she recalled her own mother, whom no one remembered. After her mother died, she too cried alone. A figure of Asherad sitting alone in the Prince’s garden, which was not accessible by anyone other than permission, came to her mind.
She wanted to see him, but the rule was that she couldn’t go there until he called her first.
‘I miss you.’
Perhaps he was crying over the loss of his mother alone after a tiring schedule.
“Cuckoo.”
Daphne turned her head at the sarcastic voice. She realized she was supposed to clean the windows. A woman of her own age, with her dark chestnut hair and blue eyes.
It was Amanda. Daphne stiffened her body from tension. While working at the imperial palace, the maids formed several groups of their own. Amanda was the most hostile to her, and the least hostile to her was Asherad.
When she met Amanda’s eyes, Daphne hurriedly lowered her head. Then Amanda narrowed her eyes.
“You have time to be lazy on your own, don’t you?”
“Amanda, stop it.”
It was Sarah who stood next to her. Sarah was one of the less hostile people.
Sarah always looked at Daphne with pity in her eyes, but she was also one who didn’t act aggressively.
Amanda gritted her teeth.
“You are the seed of disaster.”
“Amanda!”
Sarah shouted hastily. Tears welled up in Sarah’s eyes as she cried out, and Daphne was puzzled, not knowing what it was.
Amanda shouted at Sarah.
“Why! Why can’t I say anything!”
“It’s all over.”
“It’s annoying that she does not know anything!”
Daphne didn’t know what kind of conversation they were having. Amanda said, smirking.
“Do you know what happened to Norwell?”
Daphne had a puzzled expression on her face. Why was Norwell suddenly mentioned? Daphne mustered up the courage to raise her voice. However.
“Amanda, stop it.”
Sarah said in a resolute voice that didn’t sound like her. Sarah, who was always calm, sometimes got angry at Amanda.
As expected, Amanda flinched at Sarah’s firm voice. Sarah took her hand and she said.
“I’ll take care of it, so stop.”
Amanda looked at Sarah with an incomprehensible expression.
Sarah grinned and said to Daphne.
“I’m sorry, are you surprised? As always, Amanda is venting her anger.”
She was still kind. But her face trembled. But Daphne did not notice it, and asked.
“Where did that man named Norwell go?”
Daphne asked with great courage. Then Sarah bowed her head for a moment, then lifted her head and smiled brighter.
“No. I don’t know.”
It was such a contrived smile. Sarah said as Daphne was curious about her smile.
“Ah, Daphne! You’d better finish cleaning the windows quickly. His Majesty is coming soon.”
Daphne opened her eyes wide. When Sarah and Amanda left, she struggled and quickly wiped the window. If the Emperor saw her, she may face something else.
As soon as she left her seat with a bucket and a mop, she heard a murmur.
Daphne was startled and looked over the hallway. It was as Sarah said. Fortunately, Daphne was able to leave because the emperor couldn’t see her.
‘I wonder if Sarah helped me.’
In a feast of unknown conversations, there was one thing Daphne knew. Sarah, who always looked at her from behind, helped her.

“What is that garbage?”
The day was not good. Daphne opened her eyes wide and trembled. Room cleaning was usually done when no visitors were present.
“Are there only scum in the Penaen Empire?”
The visitor kicked the wet mop bucket Daphne had brought.
“Your Highness! I’m sorry!”
“I’m sure I said only clean after breakfast!”
The shouting was quite nerve wracking. Daphne squeezed her eyes shut. Apparently today was the day.
Housekeeping for foreigners was one of the things no one wanted to do.
If they did well, it was basic, and if they didn’t, their heads would be cut off. It was inevitable that Daphne, the ugly duckling, had to do the job.
Daphne knelt on her knees.
“Ha, forgive me……”
There was no proper voice. She was told that the Prince of Pindus, the owner of this room, had an all-day schedule.
Daphne bit her lip. Someone gave her the wrong time. But there was no way that such an excuse could work for this person.
As Daphne was about to ask for forgiveness, the Prince’s escort knight raised his foot and kicked her.
“Who dares to raise their face!”
It hit her shoulder and Daphne rolled on the floor. Then, her hair tie broke and her hair fluttered randomly.
“Ha.”
It hurt. It hurt so much. The kick on her shoulder, and the fact that she bumped into the floor.
She was bullied often, but fortunately she rarely suffered direct violence.
This time however it was a pain inflicted without consideration whether a person died or not.
With just one kick, her body hurt so much that she couldn’t bear it. Pain ran down her body. She raised her head, gasping for breath. Daphne’s blue eyes eventually turned to the Prince.
He was not like a prince in fairy tales like Asherad. The Prince of Pindus was a chubby young man with a body that was too fat to even compare to Asherad.
He glanced over Daphne’s face, then with a cruel smile, he grabbed the shoulder of the knight who had kicked Daphne.
“Who told you to kick?”
“….”
“Yeah, Penaen isn’t such a foolish country, I’ve been vigilant.”
The Prince, who squatted down next to Daphne as she lay down, lifted her chin and looked around her face. It was like putting a price on a work of art. He licked his lips with his tongue.
Goosebumps appeared on Daphne’s body as if he had licked her with his tongue.
“You can’t be harsh on this beautiful woman for making one mistake.”
“…”
“Come on, get up. hurry.”
It was a soft voice, but Daphne knew that if she didn’t get up, she would be kicked again.
Daphne carefully raised herself to face the crouched Prince of Pindus. She felt sick as if she was going to throw up when she encountered something in her eyes.
“I can see your beauty when you untie your hair. I like your hair hanging down like this, but all maids here have their hair tied up. Isn’t it boring?”
“Your Highness, I’d rather have her executed…… .”
As one of the knights spoke cautiously, the Prince shouted.
“Shut up!”
“…”
Daphne, who was right in front of him, flinched at the threatening voice.
“Hey, I didn’t mean to yell at you.”
The Prince spoke softly and stretched out his hand to touch Daphne’s exposed, slender wrist. She felt like a worm crawling on her body as he brushed it with his thumb.
“I will not punish you for your cute mistake.”
“…”
“But you’re gonna need to pay for it.”
His hand, which had been stroking Daphne’s face, ran over her ear and caressed her shoulder and back. Her face turned blue.
She knew nothing of the rumor that the Prince of Pindus was a lustful man, but instinctively knew what this man wanted.
‘Ah, Asherad.’
Daphne called out to the one she had in her heart. She knew now he was busy and wouldn’t have time to take care of her.
Nevertheless, it was as natural to find him in such a situation as to seek God. Prince Pindus’s breath quickened. When Daphne felt the filthy heat, the Prince shouted.
“Everyone get out!”
Everyone turned at the Prince’s words. It’s over now. She shut her eyes tightly. However, there was no sound like the footsteps of the knights.
“Tsk.”
The sound of the Prince clicking his tongue was heard as if he was dissatisfied with something. As Daphne was puzzled, a voice came from behind her.
“What’s wrong with you? Prince of Pindus.”
Daphne rejoiced. Never had those words felt like a light as much as this time.
It was definitely Asherad who came to the cluttered room. She saw her favorite person entering the room as if a dog had seen her master.
During the national funeral, he was wearing all black clothes, which matched his black hair greatly. A sharp face and dark sunken eyes radiated a sharp energy.
Asherad moved his sharp eyes, and he quickly grasped the situation and narrowed his eyes to look at the Prince. He had a way of straining the atmosphere with silence alone, and the Prince said, felt pressured by the force.
“This maid made a mistake. She was lazy and hadn’t even finished cleaning.”
“Really?”
Daphne had a sad expression on her face. But her words would not be accepted even if she pleaded.
Asherad smiled softly, as always. The Prince of Pindus, who saw it, also raised the corner of his mouth.
“So, I’m thinking of pardoning the sin on the condition that I take only this maid. How about it?”
Daphne almost screamed. She didn’t know that the Prince would say out loud that he wanted her body.
“I’m sure you’ll allow it, Crown Prince Asherad. You have no choice but to do so, don’t you?”
It was rude to talk like that to the Crown Prince of the empire. In a cold sweat, the knights of the Kingdom of Pindus looked at their Prince who was blatantly disrespectful. When Asherad did not answer, the Prince spoke as if provoked once more.
“If you don’t want to get in your father’s eyes.”
At that moment, Asherad’s eyes flashed coldly. But those eyes soon disappeared. Asherad turned his head to look at Daphne’s face. Daphne, with tears welling in her eyes, looking intently at him, and a smile gleamed in Asherad’s eyes.
“Get drunk as much as you like.” (*Asherad meant Prince Pindus can have Daphne’s body as much as he wants.)
And with his beautiful face, he uttered cruel words.
