Runaway Rich Guys Love Endeavour - Chapter 50:My friend
Ye-Jin felt awkward when Timo honestly answered her question. She knew that Ray was doing this to help her come out of her recent slump. She felt horrible for pulling him who was an innocent bystander into her not so important problems.
Ye-Jin: (softly) I am sorry, you had to deal with me like this-
Timo: (waving her off) Nah! don’t worry much about it. As I said earlier you’re Ray’s friend hence our friend too.
Timo was clear was about one thing. He knew that this woman who was obviously capable of bathing in gold and diamonds every single day was important to Ray. He certainly had many concerns when it came to them but it clearly wasn’t his place to interfere in their personal lives. He could do nothing but watch from the sidelines and lend a hand when asked.
Timo: (changing the topic) I heard that you are a humanitarian?
Ye-Jin: (shaking her head) not exactly. I am actually a teacher. I only try to do my best in some situations.
Timo: don’t be that modest. What you do is requires lots of courage and-
Ye-Jin: (changing the subject) what is this room for?
Timo understood her subtle try of diverting the topic and he didn’t pressure her much about it.
Timo: that’s our recording studio. It’s currently closed for renovations.
Ye-Jin: (nodding) hmm, that makes sense. You’re all on a break right now.
Timo: ah! I wish that we really were on a break. We still have some shows to wrap up.
Timo: (nodding) yes we are currently preparing for that.
After the little chat, both fell into a comfortable silence. There was no need for both of them to fill up the space between them with meaningless talks. If one looked at the pair they would feel that both of them had similar personality traits.
Timo continued with his exclusive- once in a lifetime- tour of their agency with his fan. He helped her familiarise with many departments in the floor allotted to them alone. The more time he spent with her, the more he started to like her personality. Although she was down to earth in some aspects that didn’t mean she was simple-minded. She definitely knew how to carry herself with grace and dignity. He could see why Ray would treasure her friendship so much. She was smart, witty and easy to get along with. Moreover, she was a very good listener. That was enough for people to relax around her and share their woes.
Meanwhile, Aera entered the company looking exhausted. Her skin had lost its former glow in measly two days. She was wearing huge sunglasses to cover half of her haggard looking face. Truth be told she too hadn’t had any decent amount of rest after her falling out with Ye-Jin. No matter in which way she thought she couldn’t bring herself to wrap her head around the fact that Ye-Jin had lied to her.
Yes, it was true that she had assumed things about Ye-Jin but the other person had never tried to correct her. She felt betrayed when she thought how she was the only person- in their years of friendship- who was truthful. She never hid anything from Ye-Jin. But she, on the other hand, had never trusted her.
Aera sighed and pushed all the turmoil to the back of her mind for the time being. She still wasn’t ready to face Ye-Jin in case she lost her temper and said something which she would regret later.
Before Aera could meet up with her group one of the trainees she was familiar with blocked her way. This was the same person who was bold enough to question Ray about his companion earlier that day.
Aera: (confused) what is the matter Sunny? Why are you blocking my way?
The girl named Sunny smiled brightly at Aera but it didn’t reach her eyes.
Sunny: I thought you were sick, senior?
Aera: no I am fine now.
Sunny: (relieved) Well, that’s good then. When I saw your friend come here in the morning I thought-
Aera: My friend?
