RWBY: Survival - Chapter 26
Ruby Rose, age fifteen, daughter of the hunters’ Summer Rose and Taiyang Xiao Long as well as sister to Sapphire Rose and Yang Xiao Long, is seen walking down the streets of Vale late at night. She wore a long-sleeve, light gray shirt with black belted cuffs near the ends of the sleeves. Over the top of the gray shirt is a black pinafore with two vertical lines of red stitching that resemble the lacing on a corset. A red cloak covered the majority of her body only leaving the middle of her body to be seen by the prying eyes, She is on her way to a dust shop called ‘Dust till Dawn’. Tomorrow was the entrance exam for Beacon Academy and she forgot to restock on ammunition leading her to this situation.
Many wondered why she was taking the Beacon Entrance Exam even though she was still fifteen and should still be in the preparatory schools but because of her high grades as well as spectacular combat skills, she was able to skip three grades making her the youngest student to ever pass school. Another reason is that her twin brother decided that he would accept Ozpin’s offer to attend Beacon early, She didn’t want to be left behind so she studied hard and managed to skip grades.
She pushes the shop door open as she greeted the shop owner, “Hello, I would like to buy some dust rounds please” The shop owner grunted and took out different kinds of dust rounds from under the table and showed them to her.
While she was choosing a group of masked individuals who came into the shop, the shop owner noticed but didn’t say anything. He thinks that they are just customers, the bell from the door rings as the ten masked individuals pulled out their sabers. (A/N: Not the saber between the legs okay)
“Put your hands up where I can see them!” The first masked man yelled, The shop owner put his hands up in the air while Ruby stealthily grabbed her scroll and pressed a buŧŧon. After that Ruby went back to picking her dust round, “Hey you! I said put your hands up!” The man repeated as he poked his gun on the back of Ruby.
Ruby sighed as she put her hands up and turned to the masked individuals with a disinterested look, the man placed his knife towards her stomach as he signaled for the others to start grabbing the dust.
She watched this curiously, why only grab the dust when there’s money in the register? She then saw one of the masked men elbow the shop owner in the gut, Ooh this mother-“Alright that’s it” Ruby pivoted herself to the left of the man’s hand and sucker-punched him in the face.
The man stumbles backward as a faint glow from his aura appears in his body, She let out a breath of relief as she grinned, “You have Aura? Well, then I guess I don’t have to worry about accidentally killing you,” She then grabs her weapon that was hidden under her cloak and shifted it to its bow form. She then infused her Aura into the strings and willed it to form into an arrow.
She released her hold on the strings as it sailed to man as he was knocked outside of the shop breaking the glass in the process, the others heard the commotion and rushed towards her. Seeing this Ruby grabbed the dust from the table and placed it inside the chambers in the revolving dust canisters on the middle of her bow, “I’ll pay for this later” She informed the owner as the owner nodded and hid under the counter.
She shifted the canister until the purple stone that decorated the canister glowed. She infused her Aura once more as it formed another arrow, as she launched the Aura Arrow, as it passes the dust chamber it slowly turned purple as one of the masked men get hit and falls to the ground unable to stand up, The gravity around him was heavier than before.
The other masked men noticed the down man unable to stand, they became alert as they spread out. Ruby glanced at them and prepared another arrow, the men charged as Ruby shot four of the farther ones pinning them down.
The sound of air getting sliced was picked up by her ear as she ducks and rolls away from her position. The man who attacked her quickly followed up his attack with a kick to her stomach pushing her further away, the other men then once again rush her preparing to attack at the same time. She shifts her bow into twin swords and parried both attacks, She spins as she turns into a small tornado of red petals and launches herself into them. She weaves around them while attacking them simultaneously, with one last kick she launches them into the wall knocking them unconscious.
She appears in front of the unconscious men and looks around to see if she missed anyone, seeing none she let out a breath of relief. If the fight went on any longer she would’ve used up all her Aura. She rummages through the small backpack she keeps hidden under her cloak and grabbed the robe inside, she then ties up the masked men and placed them outside the shop.
“Ahem” She hears a familiar voice behind her and freezes, she slowly turns around as the feeling of despair grows every second. Once she fully turned her calm facade collapsed as her face was filled with fear, in front of her is a middle-aged woman that has very light blonde hair tied back in a bun with a curl hanging down the right side of her face. Her eyes are bright green and she wears thin ovular glasses. She has dangling teal earrings that match the hanging pendant on her collar.
She wears a white long-sleeved, pleated top that has a wide keyhole neckline and gauntlet cuffs that flare in pleats at the wrist. Her lower body is covered by a black high-waisted pencil skirt with bronze buŧŧons and black-brown stockings.
She wears black boots with bronze heels and a cape that is purple inside and black on the outside. She was her Aunt, Glynda Goodwitch, Ruby gulps as she weakly greets her Aunt, “H-Hello! Auntie G-Glynda, what a f-fine evening to run into you, how have you been?” All she got in response was a heated glare, “I see that this side of you hasn’t changed,”
