S-Class Dungeon’s Mistress - Chapter 177
It somehow felt like she hadn’t seen Shoebill in a very long time. No, thinking about it, it wasn’t just a feeling, they were definitely seeing each other for the first time in a while.
It was because after having met Adelaide, Shoebill would throw the Dungeon Daily newspaper into the postman’s aisle and disappear instead of coming in and delivering it. Also, it was usually Lisianthus or Bell who received the Dungeon Daily every morning, so she had no reason to face Shoebill.
For that reason, Adelaide forgot that she had once been cursed at by Shoebill, and welcomed him.
“How have you been? Your feathers are so shiny and pretty today!”
“Gwaeaek! Gwaeaeaek! Gwaek—!”
Contrary to her expectation that he would smile pleasantly, Shoebill’s eyes opened wide and he flapped his wings around. Adelaide simply tilted her head, as there was no way to know what he was saying unless Lisianthus interpreted.
For some reason, Lisianthus’ face became serious after hearing Shoebill’s words. Adelaide narrowed her eyes and accepted the mail.
She opened the envelope using her fingernails and checked the contents and only then did she understand Lisianthus’ serious expression and why Shoebill was making such a fuss. A declaration of war had arrived. The sender, of course, was the Los Halde Dungeon.
“Gwaek!! Gwaeaek? Gwaeaeaek—!”
‘Hey, what are you going to do now? This is a big deal! Shouldn’t you run away? How can I help you? Is there anywhere you can run away to?’ Shoebill incessantly cried out, worrying about the Greenville Dungeon and Adelaide.
The truth was, Greenville Dungeon was one of his favorite customers. It was already rare that they did nothing bad, and sometimes they even gave him tips, and the way they greeted him kindly every time they met was a subtle comfort in the difficult life of a postman.
As a self-proclaimed money-crazed bird, it would be wise to side with Los Halde Dungeon, which offered a lot of money and tips, rather than the Greenville Dungeon, which has not yet fully established itself……. Still, this Shoebill wanted to keep seeing the kind, st*pid Adelaide, even if the tip was a little less. Unfortunately, it would be impossible for them to keep the dungeon now that Los Halde has declared war.
Strangely, however, Adelaide and Lisianthus’ faces were calm after receiving the declaration of war. They even comfortably exchanged jokes that he didn’t understand.
“I’m asking this just in case, but you didn’t just use your power, did you?”
“Uhmm. Right. Did I use it involuntarily?”
She laughed as she recalled saying ‘I’d rather they attack sooner!’ earlier. She didn’t really use her power, but the timing was amazing. It was so funny that her power seemed to have unwittingly activated.
However, the light conversation was short-lived, and Adelaide read the declaration of war with cold eyes. It was because the justification Los Halde wrote down was absurd.
<…… Los Halde found out that Greenville Dungeon was planning a war with Bourne Dungeon through the following grounds.
Judging that this is a serious threat to the safety of the dungeons under Los Halde and its affiliated demons, we officially declare war on the Greenville Dungeon to keep the stability and order in Kronatan.>
Most of what they wrote as grounds were very ambiguous. To the point where she questioned whether it was enough to declare war with only this information, and what all their hard work preparing a justification was for; but she soon understood.
Since it was a dungeon backed by Abaddon, demons wouldn’t be able to bad mouth Los Halde. In fact, instead of bad mouthing them, they would be busy praising them.
Those who were vaguely superior were subject to jealousy and were easily judged from place to place, but those who had great abilities that most could not dare surpass became objects of reverence. The demon race sometimes sympathized with that great being and inspired meaningless self-esteem.
Perhaps in this case as well, the demons will be praising Kronatan’s strongest dungeon and the few A-Class dungeons in the Demon Realm, saying that they were just being honest by declaring war on the newly born dungeon. If Greenville did the same, they would curse at them, calling it an abuse of power.
“Well, it’s not something unexpected.”
As Lisianthus snorted, Adelaide nodded her head in agreement. Then she raised her gaze to face Shoebill again.
“Thank you for your concern. It’s going to be dangerous here soon, so hurry up and get off work!”
“Gwae, gwaaek……?”
“Yup! See you again after the war! Stay safe!”
‘That’s not what I said.’ But Adelaide was already brightly waving her hand. Is there any use talking with an ignorant creature? Shoebill hesitated for a moment, then left reluctantly at her urging. Seeing how confident she was, she must have prepared at least one way to survive, he thought.
Adelaide watched as Shoebill disappeared over the postman’s aisle.
“Why what is it?”
“……nothing. Let’s quickly inform the others. They declared war, so they’ll probably be here soon.”
“Yes. We will proceed as planned.”
“Uhuh.”
She nodded her head lightly and hurriedly walked towards her dressing room. Lisianthus had made separate war clothes.
***
And ten minutes later.
In the last room of the battle space, called the ‘Boss Room’, all her demons gathered.
Adelaide sat with her back straight in a splendid golden chair. She wore thin black armor, boots that came up to her thighs, and her wings were spread wide out, like a powerful demon.
After making sure everyone had arrived, she took a look around her. The demon members were armed with weapons made by the dwarves and were vigorously preparing for battle.
The Skeleton Captain stood in the middle leading his troops, and on both sides of her wings were the Durahans, and Cerezo and Cereza, respectively. Pia and other healers, Juilliard, and the Dwarves stood in the rear and were ready to support the others.
Bell changed into his original large Cerberus form and stayed by Adelaide’s side. Of course, Lisianthus and Lupinus were also there.
‘Reassuring.’
Adelaide, who checked the faces of her demons one by one, smiled. There was no doubt that this war would be much more difficult than the one with Sol Dungeon, but oddly enough, it wasn’t as disconcerting as it was then. It was because it was a war that they had been preparing for in advance, and she had confidence in her demons.
“Here they come!”
Lisianthus shouted in a loud voice. The demons stared at the portal with their eyes wide open. Ssllpp. Bell licked his lips, excited for the food that’s about to fill his stomach.
Kwagwagwang!
The portal exploded and the demons sent from Sol Dungeon finally attacked from all sides.
[T/N: It really says Sol Dungeon]
“Go!”
And at Adelaide’s command, the demons of Greenville quickly rushed forward.
The tactic to deal with Los Halde’s starting line up was very simple. The strategy is almost the same as what they did in the dungeon match with Sol Dungeon in the past.
It’s called, ‘G*ng up on them everyone’.
The only difference was that the combat power of the demons under her control had greatly increased, and the fact that even Lisianthus and Lupinus were together in this beat down.
“Waaaa!”
“Kill them!”
The Skeletons contorted their black eye sockets and screamed at the top of their voices. In a way, they were really excited. After dealing with only weak warriors every day, the excitement soared as they can now battle an enemy worth fighting.
Though not to that extent, most of the other demon members were in a similar state. They were itching to flaunt the results of their training so far.
Los Halde’s starters were certainly stronger than the demons from Sol Dungeon. There were countless high-level demons that were said to be rare, and there won’t be any low-level ones. So they’ll be able to enjoy fighting.
But what’s this?
Contrary to expectations, their demon members couldn’t even stand in front of the huge powerhouse. By the way, the huge power house was not referring to Los Halde’s demons. We’re talking about Lisianthus and Lupin.
“Kkeuaak!”
“Keuheok!”
With one gesture from Lisianthus and a slash from Lupinus, dozens of demons died in the blink of an eye. They didn’t just die, they completely ceased to exist.
It was natural. If it wasn’t a demon who had a high level combat power like Uriel, they wouldn’t be considered an opponent even if hundreds of demons rushed at them in the first place.
‘This is unfair!’
Funnily enough, some of the demons from Greenville glared at the two males with hopelessness and resentment. Of course, since the goal was to finish the first battle as quickly as possible and advance to Los Halde, it was only natural to exert all of theire strength, but it was unfair.
‘We want to show off our cool side to Adelaide too!’
With sullen faces, the demons luckily killed the enemies who were out of Lisianthus’ and Lupinus’ range of attack.
“Keuwoooo!”
Just then, almost like a consolation, a huge Minotaur ran furiously towards Greenville’s camp. It was a rare high-level monster comparable to Cerberus.
“Mine!”
“I’ll kill you!”
The eyes of the Durahans and Skeletons standing in the Minotaur’s attack radius glinted. This time, they will surely show off their skills properly. Lisianthus and Lupinus also sensed their strong will and left the Minotaur alone.
However, unfortunately, there was one demon who did not have this kind of sense.
“Grrrrrr…… Woof!”
It was Bell, Greenville’s sweetheart.
Bell, as if he were the only beast in this dungeon, rushed at the Minotaur at once and bit its neck. Its muscular body, as large as a mountain, fell backwards and crushed Los Halde demons.
“Keuaak! Keugh!”
The Minotaur struggled and tried to get Bell off, but it was useless. The two heads on either side of him soon bit his shoulders and tore off his arms.
Not long after, the Minotaur was reduced to Bell’s snack. At the same time, the Skeletons and Durahan’s dreams and hopes scattered like sand.
‘See if you can bite my shin bone from now on……!’
With a firm expression, the skeletons vowed not to give Bell any snacks today. But regardless of their intentions, Bell excitedly ate the Minotaur.
