Sage’s Cultivation: Mage in Cultivation World - Chapter 165
War broke out between the Ju Yue Clan and the Bo Lin Clan. As the Ju Yue Clan questioned the goal of the Bo Lin Clan, the commander of the Bo Lin Clan only smirked.
After a day of a short encounter and brawl, the Bo Lin Clan proceeds with their army of clansmen with the intent of destroying the Ju Yue Clan. And standing before the defending army of the Ju Yue Clan, the one who leads the Bo Lin Clan was in front of the troops, facing the clan leader of the Ju Yue Clan a few meters away.
“Why? It is only for natural goals. You don’t need to know it. It is just that you are weak. That is why we were able to attack your clan.” The commander stated that made the clan leader infuriated.
“Unacceptable! Not only don’t you have the reason, but you have the intent on killing the clansmen of the Ju Yue Clan.” The clan leader exclaimed.
Meanwhile, the commander sniggered, then fixed an obnoxious gaze. “What a heavy notion you had there, Clan Leader. I hope you don’t do that to the other clans.”
The clan elder clenched his fist and exclaimed, “Are you not afraid of breaching the treaty? You know that this is a breach of the treaty, yet you continued this as if your clan is not afraid of the power of other clans.”
“You know, the treaty won’t be able to protect you. As long as we prove that our action was reasonable and your worth doesn’t stand against us, we will be okay. Thank you for worrying about it.”
The commander made a wider, vicious smile and then shouted an announcement.
“Attack!”
And there, the bloody retaliation between the two clans continued.

The next day, after Gabriel’s company arrived at the Iliman Clan, a small commotion was happening, and the people in the circle were the representatives of other clans.
Meanwhile, inside the lodging house, Gabriel’s company was starting to get bored of waiting. They were supposed to be called for the opening of the competition, yet they were still inside, even though it was already noon.
And because of that, they weren’t able to hold their thoughts and express them.
“Why aren’t they calling us? What’s happening? I am tired of this…” Elmer groaned, that took Gabriel’s attention.
His cold eyes fell on Elmer, who was lying on the bed. And as this idea reached his head, he started to get curious as well.
Thus, Gabriel decided to stand up and go ask the organizers what was happening. He just let them stay and wait while he was the one who’d be asking about it.
And as he left the lodging house, just near where he was standing, he saw a small circle of people talking about something. He looked at their robes, he realized that they came from the other clans.
Gabriel approached this group of people and excused himself to ask them.
“Excuse me, may I ask why the competition wasn’t still open? They all looked at Gabriel and looked at him from top to bottom.
When they recognized his robe, they answered him.
“The Bo Lin clan still hasn’t arrived. The competition will be delayed further if their representative doesn’t arrive by this day.”
Gabriel just nodded and decided to leave, but before he could, someone stated that they had already sent someone to check them.
Gabriel stopped and then joined the circle. “That is good to hear,” he mumbled, then just listened to their conversation. However, after a few seconds, a group of people in outdoor attire with unstable breathing arrived at the circle.
“Oh, the group that we sent has arrived.” A person from the Iliman Clan said.
Gabriel brought his attention to the people that arrived.
“We had seen troops of Bo Lin Clan members with armor. They were marching in the Ju Yue Clan’s direction.
Gabriel took a pause and was frozen in his position. The Bo Lin wore armor, indicating that it was for combat purposes.
Realizing what might be the reason, Gabriel suddenly ran away from the circle and went for the gate. He then immediately left the Iliman Clan with agitation that his clan might be attacked by the Bo Lin Clan.
Even if he knew that Lucas had arranged a grand formation on the premises of his clan, he wasn’t complacent about it as something could happen outside their clan.
Gabriel hurried his pace to the Ju Yue Clan. And after a few hours, approximately five hours, he finally arrived at the Ju Yue Clan, but he wasn’t expecting what to see.
His clan was already gone. Buildings were destroyed and a fire was spreading.
Corpses were lying on the ground, and plenty of his fellow clansmen were crying in vain. They were in torment, and as he entered the premises, coldness covered his whole body.
He was moving slowly, in disbelief that what he was seeing was only a dream. And as his eyes went in one direction, his stomach was like it was turning upside down.
He felt his lips getting numb, and his knees were trembling in fear and nervousness. When he remembered his mother, he forced his body to move and go in the direction of their house.
But then, again, he was devastated as he saw his house destroyed. The upheaval in the surrounding filled his system with fear. Looking at his destroyed house, he could only worry about his mother.
He shook his head and ran towards his house, shouting, “Mother! Mother!”
He felt his throat getting hoarse. He was shouting, with his vocal cords pushed intensely.
However, he stopped searching for his mother as slowly, tears dropped from his eyes. He was looking in a certain direction. And there, his lifeless mother was lying on the ground.
“What happened to the grand formation?” he asked himself and dropped his knee on the ground.

A few hours ago, the Ju Yue Clan was able to suppress the heat of the war. They used the grand formation as their insurance. When someone was injured, they would pull that person back inside the range of the grand formation.
The Bo Lin Clan noticed that they were being protected by an invisible force. It was as if they were weakening their attacks and making the clansmen of the Ju Yue Clan invincible.
However, not expecting it, the grand formation was due to be destroyed.
The barrier collapsed, and noticing it, the clansmen of the Ju Yue Clan became frozen. They could only look at the clansmen of the Bo Lin Clan rushing towards them, their faces lit up with joy.
The reason behind the destruction of the barrier or the grand formation was the maintenance it needed. Since Lucas wasn’t able to maintain the durability of it, he put the condition on Gabriel’s side.
When the grand array formation needed another batch of energy to remain, unconsciously, the energy would come from Gabriel. Gabriel is needed for the durability of the grand array formation, but as he was absent, the grand array formation wasn’t able to survive the attacks and killing intent of the Bo Lin Clan.
Every barrier needed to be maintained, and Lucas, not being able to do it, put everything on Gabriel’s stake.
This was the mistake Lucas made. He made everyone complacent, which made them feel strong and arrogant without being sure of the future they had.
This is why half of the clan died at the hands of the Bo Lin Clan.

Gabriel returned to his position. He was infuriated that he wasn’t able to control his emotions. As if everything was slowing down, Gabriel shouted with all his might that the energy from his body exploded.
The debris flew away as his rage wasn’t able to be suppressed by his inner conscious.
Gabriel was hurting. He didn’t know what to do. His mother was dead, and there was no possible way to bring her back. He knew that life ends, but not in this way…
His mother was killed, helplessly.
Gabriel approached his mother and embraced her. From the touch of their skins, he tried to remember his mother’s embrace, but it was useless as his mother was already dead.
Tears flowed until the next day, when he stood with everyone, watching their loved ones be buried to rest in peace.
Gabriel’s fists were clenched in rage. He wasn’t able to calm down, but he knew that he must help his fellow clansmen. All of them were victims.
Other clan members that survived were captured as slaves. And he knew that he needed to be firm so that he would be able to leave his mother in peace. He needed to save them. That’s what his mother would wish for.
“I promise that your lives won’t be forgotten. I will avenge everyone..” Gabriel swore deep into his heart, then tears followed once again.
