Saiyan System In The Immortal World - Chapter 22
It was just a little bit more than an hour since the army got trapped in the formation, yet a third of the four million people are already dead.
The formation used by the immortals was enough to trap everyone up to a Peak Martial Saint. The remaining soldiers in the army banded together and took their shields to defend themselves. It was no use, however, as the power of the condensed sword qi strikes were enough to annihilate Martial Grandmasters.
General Yang would have no problem surviving the formation, but there were still immortals outside. By that time, he would be the only one alive for the immortals to play with. General Yang needed to protect as many as he can, until the reinforcements arrive, if there are any.
Caol was fully rejuvenated by the Senzu Bean he took. He was of almost no use in this battle. The gap between the mortals and the immortals was shown to him in this battle. A formation casted by the immortals in the air used the world’s energy to supply itself.
‘I do not think {Kaio-ken} x10 is enough to break through the formation, but if I go higher, there is a high possibility of me dying, and even if I did use higher forms of the {Kaio-ken} to destroy the formation, there are still the immortals eyeing us on the side. What do I do?’ Caol was having a hard time looking for a solution.
Once their army gets killed, the Tiger Continent will have the upper hand in the war, and the Dragon Continent will most likely lose.
“Elder Yi, why don’t we send someone inside the formation to get rid of them faster? I already feel a bunch of immortal qi fluctuations heading here at a fast speed.” A lanky man suddenly spoke up. This man was feeling irritated by the sight of them dealing with mortals so he suggested an old man to pick up the pace.
The old man, Elder Yi, thought about it for a second before agreeing. “Junior brother Jianyi, go and deal with them. By your strength, that Martial Saint will be no problem to you.”
A fairly young man waved his hand. A gap in the formation opened. After the young man entered, the gap automatically closed.
This young man looked straight at General Yang.
General Yang noticed the young man inside the formation and was horrified. It wasn’t a problem to survive the formation, but the immortals’ onslaught will put their survival chances close to nil.
___
While she was flying, Granny Yu put high-grade qi recovery pills in her mouth as she was consuming energy like crazy.
‘A little bit more! I can almost see the formation!’ Granny Yu was close but she did not know if Caol and the army will be able to hold on until she got there.
___
Caol saw the young man going inside the formation. He knew that even General Yang could not beat that guy. ‘Should I take my chances and hold off this man until help arrives? If I do not, who else will?’ Feng and the others in the elite group were with Caol. They were filled with wounds, blood was flowing out like sweat. A lot of the young elites from the Regiment have already died. ‘Well, it looks like tonight is the night I die, again.’
Caol put a piece of Senzu Bean in his mouth. ‘System, is it possible for you to help me take this Senzu Bean once I am in a dire situation?’
[Yes, the system can help the host in this aspect.]
Once Caol heard the system’s affirmation, he stepped in front of General Yang.
“General, will you let me handle him? I still have something I can use to deal with him, but it will be detrimental to my body. I hope you protect the soldiers will all your might.”
General Yang saw the resolve in Caol’s eyes. He decided to trust Caol, and he knew he was of no match to Jianyi. General Yang silently stepped back and continued to give the other soldiers a helping hand.
The young man was amused when he saw Caol stepping up to the plate. He wondered what kind of tricks will a mortal do in front of him.
‘I will have to give it my all. {Kaio-ken} x 20 is going to be suicide since my body can’t handle it.’
Caol gathered all his qi and concentrated it. A fearful burst of qi surrounded his body. The red fiery aura looked like it was burning him and everything around him.
Caol felt the pressure on his body. ‘I can only keep this up for a few seconds. I’ll have to finish the fight by then.’
[Name: Caol Gwynt]
[Power Level: 1,182,000]
The young man, the immortals outside the formation, and General Yang and his soldiers all looked at Caol. The strong aura made all of them palpitate.
Jianyi could not believe his eyes. Before he could react, a red flash appeared and he was sent flying. Jianyi was smacked to the ground. Now, he saw Caol coming at him so he conjured an immortal spell.
“Heavenly Tortoise Protector!” As Jianyi shouted, a huge form of a tortoise, composed of pure immortal qi appeared and protected him. Caol was blocked, but he punched at a rapid speed.
The spell from Jianyi was creaking as Caol punched, but it was still intact. Caol knew that Jianyi was just caught off guard when he got punched, however, Jianyi was still fine.
The difference between his power and Jianyi’s was minimal, but the immortal spell gave Jianyi the upper hand.
Caol stepped back and fired {Ki Blasts} at the shield. Cracks appeared, but it will not finish the fight.
6 seconds have elapsed since Caol activated {Kaio-ken}. Jianyi took this chance to mutter incantations before shouting and pointing at Caol, “Grand Severing Sword!”
A huge sharp sword about 10 meters long and 3 meters wide went straight for Caol.
Caol counter-attacked with a {Kamehameha} and deflected it, but it wasted some time for him. He was feeling an enormous amount of pain and knew he could not keep the {Kaio-ken} as it will damage his body and his qi. 10 seconds have elapsed and Caol knew he only had a few more seconds before the point of no return.
Before he could continue his next attack, the formation disintegrated. Caol was dumbfounded when he saw Granny Yu landing in front of him. He immediately deactivated {Kaio-ken} and relaxed as help was here. Caol was full of wounds bursting from his skin and muscles because of his prolonged use of the {Kaio-ken}.
Granny Yu looked at Caol and his body full of wounds. She then turned around and looked at the immortals in the air. Her eyes bringing with it vast killing intent and hatred. Half of the Dragon Army was disintegrated by the formation, more if Caol did not stop Jianyi. Granny Yu gathered her qi rapidly into one of her hands and shot it out at Jianyi and his spell.
Jianyi did not have the time to shout before he was incinerated.
Granny Yu said slowly, “You will all die.”
