Saiyan System In The Immortal World - Chapter 35
Atop a yellowish cloud sat a young man. He had a very youthful vibe, as he was clearly excited about something. The young man was fairly handsome, but not too over the top. His black eyes were looking far ahead the horizon, like the expecting eyes an explorer would have. The young man had a bit of a copper-like skin, a sign of being under the sun for prolonged periods of time. One of the most distinct feature the young man had was his hair. It was a sort of a tousled, spiky black hair.
His hair was waving along with the strong wind, as he was at a high altitude. The young man looked like a normal human from afar, however, there was a brownish tail that was connected to his bottom. He seemed to be able to control the tail like an arm, as he was sometimes scratching parts of his body with it.
This young man was wearing black trousers and a black colored sleeve-less gi that exposed his toned muscles. It was very aesthetically proportioned, having the right amount of muscle at the right places.
This young man was exactly Caol, and he was on the first leg of his journey. Caol has been riding the Nimbus for three days straight now, only stopping sometimes if he sees a place to stay for a while.
A lot of thoughts poured into Caol’s mind, some important, while some were not.
The only thought that Caol was struck the most was about him having a tail, and then allowing him to transform into an ape, a Great Ape.
‘Well, I don’t know why, but apes don’t have tails.’ It was a sort of a dumb thing that was just stuck in Caol’s mind as he was travelling.
Aside from that, Caol gathered his thoughts and re-organized the things he knew about the world so far.
There are four known Continents that Caol has read or heard about, namely the Dragon, Vermillion Bird, Tiger, and the Turtle Continents. They are based upon the cardinal directions their land is located.
Caol learned that the Four Continents are a bit far from the Land of the Titans. The general direction he was told was to go East. If Caol just continued travelling eastbound, he will encounter quite a few islands before discovering a big land mass, that is the Land of the Titans.
As Caol was told, this place was a gathering of different races who seek more power. There was a lot of information that wasn’t made clear, but he was just looking forward to actually knowing the facts personally.
During the three days Caol travelled, nothing particularly exciting happened. Caol did not train any martial technique on his journey, but he did use the gravity bracelets he had. Caol can now constantly open it to 50x and will not affect his battle power that much against lower levels. This was a form of training for him, to keep his muscles active.
The food that Caol brought with him can provide him enough food to last for a year or two. The storage ring that Granny Yu gave him was about 50 meters x 50 meters x 25 meters. It was enough to fit in a house or two. Caol brought along large amounts of food, clothing, and any necessities that were sensible to bring.
His metabolism rate was too fast as Caol was constantly under high pressures from the gravity training, and that is why he needed to eat a lot.
“There is nothing for me to look at here. It only took me a day to travel three-fourths of the whole Dragon Continent, but it has been two days, and now I’m still surrounded by water.”
Nobody took the time to name the waters way beyond the periphery of the Continents. There weren’t a lot who ventured out of the Continents and come back. Occasionally, some sect leaders would travel and hunt for precious materials and resources in the ocean. They would not go too far because of the dangers that lurk underwater.
With the exception of the ocean, there was nothing to be seen. Caol urged the Nimbus to go faster as he was becoming a little bit impatient. The yellow cloud zoomed its way above the waters and up the clouds.
____________
After half a month of travelling, Caol finally found a group of islands.
There was a dock on the biggest one where rows of ships and boats are anchored. Caol saw a lot of workers on the docks, carrying sacks of resources. He also saw an awful amount of wood that was being transported.
This was a place where Caol could stop, so he commanded the Nimbus to fly above the dock. The people that were working noticed a yellow cloud that stopped over them. It was a weird encounter, however, that did not stop there. They saw a young man jumping from the cloud and landing on the pier.
Caol got down on the ground, but once he was there, the gazes of the people were centered on him. It made him feel embarrassed as this sort of entrance was a bit much. Nobody wanted to talk, neither did Caol.
“Sir, may we help you?”
Finally, a man that was in his prime spoke up for the rest of the people. They were sure that Caol was atleast a martial practitioner, as he jumped down 50 feet from the air. Caol made sure that the Nimbus was close to the ground as he did not want to make an eye-catching landing, even though he could handle jumping down from higher altitudes.
His presence was not very low-key right now and the people thought he was here for something.
Caol finally calmed down a bit, even though he was still flustered.
“Don’t mind me. I’m just passing by and I just need directions.”
Once everybody heard Caol’s intentions, they heaved a sigh of relief. This place was a refuge for businessmen and businesswoman for their cargos before they embark again on their journey towards their destination.
“Where would you like to go, sir?” The middle aged man curiously asked Caol. He had some doubts as to where Caol wanted to go, but he could not be too sure.
Caol only uttered, “Land of the Titans.”
Obviously, the place was a famous one as the middle aged man did not hesitate to tell Caol the general direction of the place.
“Sir, you can arrive at the Land of the Titans by going North-East from here. This island is named the Peaceful Island and is the closest landmass from the Land of the Titans. It will take about 2 whole months by boat. It is not that long, considering the vast ocean separating us.” The man was very polite and honest as he told Caol where he wanted to go.
Caol wasn’t shocked that it will take 2 months to get there. He could be faster if he went with the Nimbus. ‘It will be boring as hell, but whatever.’ Caol was about to walk away before he thought of something.
“Is there a boat going there days from now? If there is, I would like to ask to be on board. I will pay generously.” Caol looked at everyone at the pier and asked the question. He thought it would more fun travelling with someone as opposed to travelling alone. He might also learn more about the place he would go to and be a bit inconspicuous.
All the people were just looking at each others’ blank faces. Clearly, not a lot of people were going there as it was away from their destinations.
“You can board my ship.”
Suddenly, a feminine voice came from the masses. The people went ahead and separated themselves, allowing the person who spoke up to be seen.
It was a female, with a tanned brown skin. Her long hair was tied up into a bun with a few strands of hair hanging down her ears. She was not the most beautiful girl in the world, but she had a sort of aura that attracted attention.
Murmurs became frequent after they saw who the speaker was. It seemed like she had a bit of fame around these parts.
Caol looked at her and asked, “When are we leaving?”
The lady shook her head, “We can leave anytime, but you have to pay first!” Caol thought he saw gold coins appearing in her eyes for a bit, before disappearing. The lady went up to Caol before opening her palms in front of him. Caol had no choice but to take a pouch containing roughly about 50 gold coins and tossed it onto her.
The lady quickly grabbed the pouch, shaked it a bit, before tossing it to a man behind her. The man was huge. At 15 years old, Caol had a height of 1.78 meters, but he was only as tall as his shoulders. The man did not wear any shirt on, showing off his ripped physique. He was dark-skinned and had scars from unknown sources all over his body.
He did not say anything and just held onto the pouch that was thrown to him. He looked at Caol and nodded.
The lady was clearly joyful after receiving the money from Caol. “I’m Emily and that man over there is Karn, what’s yours?”
“Caol.” He was a bit surprised when the lady had a Western name. He thought that it might be because there are different races in the Immortal World, which makes it more diverse.
“Alright, Caol. We will set sail in an hour, so you better prepare. We will meet you here later.”
Emily, followed by Karn, disappeared from the crowd. Caol was left there standing alone. As he had no place to go, he decided to look for a place to sit. Caol found an eatery and ordered a lot of food.
After he was done, he just sat there and meditated until the one hour was up. Caol then headed back to the pier, discovering Emily standing there and waiting for him.
“What took you so long? We were about to leave without you.” Emily was clearly messing with Caol as it wasn’t even a minute after the hour time limit. She started walking towards a ship and beckoned Caol to follow her.
Emily led him to the end of the port. There, a gigantic ship that was colored in black to make it look fiercer was anchored. The sails were all blood red which gave other people chills from afar. Caol was amazed at Emily and her capability to obtain a ship like this one. He was about to board it before he heard Emily shouting at him.
“Hey! Where do you think you are going? We’re boarding this one.” Emily was at the other side of the port. A ship was there. It was about a third of the size of the black ship. It looked very rough and shoddy, and it felt like a wave of water will blow it up. Karn was standing on the port in front of the ship and was waiting for them.
Caol’s mouth was wide open as there was an enormous amount of difference between the two ships. He felt cheated as 50 gold can buy a better ship than what Emily had.
Emily clearly knew what was going on in his mind. She was grinning, “Don’t look down on Betsy! She can handle the rough oceans and will lead us to the Land of the Titans!” There was a proud feeling on her chest as she introduced Betsy, the ship, or a boat in Caol’s eyes.
Caol was about to ask if it was safe, but he saw the look on Emily’s face. He couldn’t just shatter her optimism just because of a ship.
‘Whatever. If worse comes to worst, I’ll just fly the Nimbus.’
Caol then followed Emily and Karn before boarding Betsy.
