Saiyan System In The Immortal World - Chapter 38
Caol was going through a lot right now. His skin was getting torn, only to be regenerated by the mystical tattoos again and again, while the muscles were being ripped apart. He could feel the bones in his body becoming smashed to pulps.
Caol could not faint, as there was something preventing him to. It was like an endless loop of nearly dying.
As Caol has a Saiyan physique, his whole body was many times stronger than martial practitioners at the same, or higher levels. Thus, it took more force from the tattoos to destroy his body and rebuild it constantly.
The statue was just watching as Caol was screaming in pain. The body of a young man on the ground, like he was being tortured by a lot of people, gave satisfaction to the statue.
Five minutes into the inheritance process, Caol’s body has been destroyed and restructured more than 20 times. It was the longest five minutes of Caol’s life and it felt like eternity.
The statue kept noticing how Caol was getting a lot stronger by the second. The inheritance was supposed to make Caol’s physique unparalleled, yet Caol’s aura was going beyond it. Its curiosity was piqued and it thoroughly observed Caol’s body.
Caol was exuding monstrous amounts of qi and it was increasing. It was as if the pain was a catalyst that enabled Caol to become way stronger.
At this point, Caol had been experiencing this madness for about thirty minutes. It had become harder for the tattoos to destroy his body, while the pain had significantly lessened.
The statue gave its appreciating look at Caol. To have gone this far, Caol had unlimited potential. It didn’t take long before the tattoos stopped covering Caol’s body and congregated throughout the entirety of his left arm.
His left arm going up his shoulders to his left chest had ancient runic symbols that contained massive power and sentience within it. Caol was now recovering and had been able to kneel, while gasping for breath.
The process of rebuilding his physique took a lot out of Caol. It was very exhausting, and whenever Caol remembered it, he would tremble a bit.
“You have done well. For you to last that long under that huge amount of pain coursing throughout your body, I acknowledge you as my successor.” The statue was still gazing upon Caol, but now, there was a significant change in its eyes. The statue’s eyes turned gray and became lackluster. It did not have the deepest and darkest of blue.
Caol noticed this, but he did not say anything. He was still a bit angry as the inheritance was done without his consent. Caol felt more powerful, but he was afraid that the inheritance process changed his bloodline. The Saiyan bloodline was the most important thing to him. He only felt relaxed when the system told him everything was fine.
[The host has gained an immense amount of strength during the inheritance process, and did not affect the host’s bloodline in any way.]

Caol’s jaw was wide open when he saw how much his overall power increased. It was an understatement to say that he improved massively. As Caol was wiping the beads of sweat from his body, he couldn’t help but look at the statue.
“What did you do to my body? Also, what is this inheritance you gave me?”
The statue felt like it was the time to answer Caol’s questions as it wouldn’t be fair to the other part.
“Don’t be too hasty there, kid. I have not given you my inheritance yet. I just strengthened your body so that you can handle what I’m about to give you.” The statue stopped at this point, hesitating on whether it should tell the truth to Caol. “To be honest, I have not expected you to get a lot stronger than your current state.”
Caol knew that it was because of the Zenkai that he gained the power he currently has. Being on death’s door repeatedly activated and squeezed out the power from his Saiyan blood.
What he did not expect was what happened next, as the statue suddenly split up in the middle, revealing a blob of light flying slowly towards Caol, and only stopping once it was a meter away from his body.
The statue combined its body after releasing this light, “This is my inheritance.”
Once the statue said this, the thing hidden within the light revealed itself.
It was a pair of eyes. They were frighteningly familiar to Caol when he suddenly remembered something. He looked at the statue, only to find the eyes missing. It seemed like the true inheritance of the statue was its eyes.
“This pair of eyes is something that I inherited myself. I found them in a ruin and it helped my path immensely. With these eyes, I became strong, too strong in fact that I had to forcefully hinder myself from growing. Once you combine with these eyes, you will understand.”
Caol couldn’t resist, as he still didn’t have any strength in his body. The eyes integrated itself into Caol’s eyes.
The weird thing about it was that Caol didn’t feel pain. He only felt a cool and itchy sensation. After a few seconds, he opened his eyes and it somehow changed. The iris’ replicated the color of the sky. It was a shade of blue that was so clear. Apart from this, everything else was the same, appearance-wise.
However, once Caol used his eyes, it felt like the whole world was different. His outstanding vision was further enhanced. This empowered his reaction speed as it gave him an ability.
“Is this the ability to control Time itself?”
Caol murmured and the statue heard him. Everything around him was slowed down to the point that the dust floating around the air seemed like it stopped. Caol tried to move his body and found out that he could while in this state.
As he was testing the effects, the ability suddenly stopped working, and everything moved back in their normal pace.
“Hehe, kid, this is not controlling Time. That is just one of the first abilities of those eyes, and it just slows down your perception of Time, making everything around you slower. For now, you can only use that ability for 30 seconds at a time as you still need to have more power to thoroughly control it.”
Caol felt like he grasped something as he was using it, but after using it repeatedly, his head began to ache. As he felt more pain by the minute, Caol stopped using it and just looked at the statue.
“Thank you for giving me your inheritance!”
Caol sincerely bowed and gave his gratitude. Even though he was put in a lot of pain and misery by the statue in front of him, it also gave him more than enough strength as exchange.
The statue didn’t say anything and just accepted Caol’s gratitude.
Caol was about to leave when he suddenly remembered something.
“By the way, uhm, do you know how to leave this place?”
Caol was kind of embarrassed as he didn’t know the way back, that’s why he tried asking the statue.
“Hehe, I don’t know how, kid.”
Once the statue said this, Caol felt disappointed. How was he going to leave this place? As far as he knew, he was under the ocean, and was probably thousands of meters deep. It was a miracle he survived the pressure and wasn’t disintegrated instantly.
“However, I know someone that can get you back.”
The statue loved torturing Caol, and playing with his feelings. It then radiated an enormous pressure before whistling in a peculiar rhythm. The melody was a bit soft at the start, before becoming inaudible at the middle, and then becoming soft again.
The cave suddenly shook. Caol tried to maintain his balance as the ground was unstable and the cave was somehow collapsing.
What Caol didn’t expect was that there were tentacles going through the cave. Caol remembered what exactly this was. It was the huge monster he fought before stumbling upon this cave.
Caol was ready and went into his battle stance, when the statue calmed him down.
“No need to be afraid, kid. This is my pet, Charlotte. She’s a very kind and gentle being.”
Caol felt the need to puke when the statue said that the monster was kind and gentle. Hell no, it wasn’t! He almost died under its hands, or tentacles to be exact. As this monster was the statue’s pet, Caol relaxed a little. It can help him go ascend the surface and go on with his journey.
Charlotte’s huge head went through a hole that it created. It peeked at Caol, looking all embarrassed and flustered.
‘Was this the same monster that almost killed me? Why is it blushing for no reason? What the hell?’ Caol didn’t know what to feel and said his goodbyes to the statue.
Before he boarded Charlotte’s tentacles, he asked a question to the statue.
“Elder, may I know your name?”
As he was the statue’s successor, he felt the need to know at least the statue’s name.
“Hehe, just remember to call me Old Xian, kid. That’s all you need to know.”
Caol deeply remembered his name and bowed to him again, before boarding Charlotte’s tentacle.
As Charlotte led him towards the surface, the statue smiled, before it laughed hysterically. There were tears dripping down its hollow eyes, and it started to disintegrate into dust.
“Finally, I can be with you again!”
These were its last words before it left the world for good.
