Saiyan System In The Immortal World - Chapter 8
After being tossed around everywhere, Caol was in a wretched state. He was played like a fool by the fighting style of Xue’er. Caol felt disappointed as he felt like his training’s results aren’t going great.
“This is my loss, Sister Xue’er. I couldn’t even touch the hem of your clothes. What kind of martial art are you practicing?” Caol was deeply interested in this type of martial art as the Kame Style Martial Arts focused more on the hard fist.
“Young Master Caol, I practice a martial art called ‘Gentle Fist.’ As women tend to have weaker physiques than men, this martial art focuses on using the least amount of strength to nullify the attacker. This is a defensive martial art and it is very effective against people stronger or on the same level. Of course, this martial art isn’t invincible as once your strength is surpassed by a huge margin, it is very difficult to fight back. Hence practicing and improving yourself is the best way.” Xue’er patiently explained her understandings to Caol and taught him the martial art.
Caol was very happy as this fight brought him a lot of benefits. He had top-class martial artists to spar and train with and act as a teacher.
As the sun slowly set, the servants stayed on the mountain and tended to Caol and Granny Yu’s needs before resting.
Caol started his evening training, which is meditating. Granny Yu instilled this practice to him as having a clear and sound mind is very essential to a human being. Absorbing the knowledge from today’s spar and creating scenarios of how Caol could’ve done better on the fight was his main agenda. He was very excited for tomorrow’s training session as this was the first time he had ever dabbled on martial arts. Caol wasn’t a very active guy in his past life, and he felt like he wasted his life by being unproductive most of the time.
Time flew by and dawn shone upon the people.
Caol awakened from his meditation and started stretching. After he was done stretching, he started to jog around the hills. Caol came back to the mountain before lunch and can be seen perspiring heavily. He adjusted the gravity bracelet to 15x and made the jog harder. One must know that he fought yesterday while the gravity bracelet was on.
‘This is also a form of training for myself. Once I can defeat all the servants while under the influence of the gravity bracelet, then this part of the training can be halted and I can start going out of the mountain and challenge different martial artists.’ Caol knew that there was a lot to do in the future, that’s why he is making his training tougher. ‘I wonder who my opponent is today?’
The servants were all lined up and waiting for him. Granny Yu was missing and when Caol came back, he was told that Granny Yu was called by the Sect Leader for a meeting.
A refined, muscular servant went before him and greeted, “Young Master Caol, this lowly one’s name is Xin. I hope for a good fight.”
Caol nodded and immediately went into his fighting style. Now that he had more experience in fighting, he calmed himself and anticipated for an attack. Xin, seeing this scene, nodded in appreciation. He started jogging in a zig-zag towards Caol. When Xin was near him, Caol reacted and swiftly threw a roundhouse kick to Xin’s head. Xin dodged underneath Caol’s legs and grabbed the back of his knees and twisted it.
Caol didn’t expect being grabbed, but he knew he had to follow the twist or else his knees will break. Xin already anticipated Caol’s move and strongly threw his leg away. Caol can be seen flying in circles mid-air.
‘Damn, I can’t control myself.’ Caol tried to land stably, but once one of his feet touched the ground, Xin was already in front of him. Xin threw a punch at his face. Caol wasn’t able to defend himself before he flew and landed on his back. Xin immediately went beside Caol and helped him sit.
Caol’s left cheek was red, while his mouth was bleeding. Even in this miserable state, he was still smiling.
“Wow Brother Xin, you are very strong. I seek for your guidance in the future.” Caol was awed by the tactics that were used in this fight. From doing the jog to make him react predictably, to the grabbing and throwing him off guard.
“It is because Young Master Caol isn’t used fighting people yet, however, I know for a fact that once you accumulate enough experience, even those in the martial artist realm will not be a match for you. Young Master Caol has a very strong bodily foundation, great reaction speed, and a knack for fighing. You just need to learn a lot before becoming the best.” Xin gave his sincere guidance towards Caol. He knew that Caol will stand on top of the masses and become one of the best.
“Alright, I will keep that in mind.”
Dragon Continent, Annro Mountain Ranges, Immortal Gathering Sect Main Chamber.
A man, seemingly in his middle ages, was sitting on top of an elevated chair. Beside him was an old man with his eyes closed, giving people the impression that he was asleep. Arranged in a semi-circle in front of them are 10 chairs with a person sitting respectively.
“Greetings Elders, I have called you all here today because of a very important matter.” The man addressed the people sitting in front of him.
“For what purpose have you called us, Sect Leader?” A woman with a very beautiful face, dressed in light green robes, questioned the man. It seemed she was a little bit upset because of the meeting, as she was on closed-door cultivation. The other Elders on the chairs were also inquiring the Sect Leader.
The Sect Leader looked at her deeply and said, “This concerns our Immortal Gathering Sect. As you may all know, Emperor Tianlong has set his eyes on the Tiger Continent. He wants all the immortal sects in the Dragon Continent to aid his conquest. The Dragon and Tiger Continents have been in conflict for many years now, but neither started a full-out war. That is until now. Emperor Tianlong requires the immortal practitioners to fight in the war.”
“But that is impossible! There is an unspoken rule about immortal practitioners dabbling in a mortal war.” Granny Yu voiced out her opinion as she isn’t interested in bullying mortals.
“That is not the case as we are only to take care of the immortal sects of the Tiger Continent. The Emperor has given his word that we are to only stop the immortal sects from interfering with the war. Practitioners of the martial path are the main force of the battle. The Emperor is not planning on mobilizing the army for another ten years as he feels that his breakthrough is near. Once he successfully breaks through, there will be no one to stop him from being one of the strongest in the Eight Continents. There will be a continent-wide conscription starting five years from now for them to be trained in the army.”
The Sect Leader was aware of the consequences of a Continental War. The devastation it will leave on the common people living in both of the continents. The only thing was, they had no choice but to accept as the Dragon Empire is strong enough to annihilate the Immortal Gathering Sect.
