Saiyan System In The Immortal World - Chapter 9
Dragon Continent, Annro Mountain Range, Jade Peak
A youth can be seen battling a burly man on top of a mountain. The youth was perspiring, with sweat coming down from his fairly handsome face.
The burly man held onto his head before striking his body with knees. The youth was trapped in the clinch, but he didn’t have any trace of panic in his eyes. He calmly opened his palm and a huge amount of qi can be felt condensing. The burly man, seeing this, let go of the clinch and retreated far away before surrendering.
“Young Master Caol, I give up. This is basically cheating. Ever since you learned that move a couple of months ago, you always do that in a spar.” The burly man felt like he wanted to cry. He knew that even without this move, Caol can still best him in martial arts.
“Brother Xiong, that’s not true. I only did this because it was the only way for you to get your sweaty hands off my head. You always like to go for the clinch. You don’t even bother suppressing your cultivation base anymore, it’s sad.”
Caol has been practicing with the servants for almost five years now. He already turned 10 a few months ago. After accumulating a terrifying amount of battle experience, the servants aren’t holding back anymore, but they still don’t stand a chance against Caol.
Caol just achieved being able to do a {Ki Blast} a couple of months ago. He was so excited when he was finally one step on being able to do a {Kamehameha}. Caol had a huge amount of progress that even Granny Yu was scared with his development. He modified the gravity bracelet to be constantly 50x the norm.
He was satisfied by his battle experience and felt like he should start Quest 2.
During the five years, he also hunted ferocious beasts in the forest while accumulating system currencies.
‘System, open my menu please.’
Name: Caol Gwynt
Age: 10 years old
Race: Saiyan
Strength: 45.8
Agility: 51.3
Intelligence: 45.0
Will: 49.5
System Currency: 15,213
Caol read through his stats and felt genuinely happy. He had a lot of progress during the years, and he can see his development, being satisfied with it.
‘Before I start Quest 2, I need to decide whether i buy {Kaio-Ken} first or the {Sky Dance} technique. Each technique has its perks. With {Kaio-Ken}, I can considerably enhance my power. I think my body is strong enough to handle at least {Kaio-Ken} x5. With {Sky Dance} technique, I’ll be able to fly and when I need to, retreat. This is a very convenient skill to learn, however it would also create troubles as martial practitioners can’t fly unless they are a Martial Ancestor or above.’
[The system suggests the host to learn {Kaio-Ken} first as it will help enormously with the host’s following quest.]
‘Alright, that’s what I was also thinking. System, exhange for the {Kaio-Ken} technique, please.’ Caol decided that he would learn this technique first as a burst of power is very essential.
[The host has successfully exchanged the {Kaio-Ken} technique.]
[The system has deducted 15,000 system currencies.]
[The system has placed the {Kaio-Ken} technique in the system storage.]
‘Cool, now I need to talk to Granny about leaving the mountain.’ Caol headed to Granny Yu’s cave. He found Granny Yu sitting in front of the cave, as if she was expecting his return.
Caol sat next to her before saying, “Granny Yu, I want to leave the mountain.”
“Oh, and why would you do that?” Granny Yu turned her head towards Caol and looked into his eyes. His eyes showed determination and curiosity. Caol has never left the sect since he was brought here. He wanted to see the outside world while challenging martial experts.
“I want to challenge one hundred people and win them all.” Caol gave a very direct answer.
“Caol, the outside world is in turmoil right now. The Continent is preparing for war. There is danger everywhere.” Granny Yu was concerned about his well-being so she told her the recent happenings outside the sect. “Jade Peak is the safest place you’ll ever be and I will be here to protect you.”
Caol was surprised to know about the current events. War. It was a very scary word. In his past life, Caol read and watched documentaries about the two World Wars that happened. The amount of people that suffered was outrageously high. He can only imagine how fearful a continental war is. This was a world of beings with great power. Immortals ran amuck everywhere. Martial experts ran amuck everywhere. Immortals are watching over everything. Trillions of mortals stomping their feet for a march together can shake the earth.
Nevertheless, he was still determined to go outside. He can’t just live while being protected. Caol knew that he can’t unleash his potential that way. So he told Granny Yu about his decision. Granny Yu expected his answer as she knew that once Caol set his mind on something, nobody can interfere with it. Granny Yu allowed him to go under a certain condition: Xin and Xiong will be going with him. He didn’t mind this at all and agreed. Caol arranged the things he was going to bring and started his journey down the mountain with Xin and Xiong. They were familiar with each other as they have been training together for five years.
“Young Master Caol, where do you want to go first?” Xin asked if Caol had a plan with regards to their journey. Caol simply laughed while scratching his head, “Honestly, I don’t have any idea where we will go to.”
Both the servants expected this and came up with a travel plan. They were going to the capital of the Empire, Dragon City. They expected this journey to last long as they will have to travel by horses. They stopped by every village and towns in along their way to replenish their supplies. A month of travelling by horses before they spotted a very grandiose and tall wall.
Xiong was seemingly familiar with this sight before he told Caol, “Young Master, that is Dragon City. I am very familiar with this place as I grew up here.” Xiong was reminiscing the past.
Caol tapped his shoulder, “Let’s go enter Dragon City. I’m excited to see what kind of opponents are in store for me.” With eyes full of eagerness and the will to battle, Caol led the duo towards the city.
