Salted Fish Zombie - Chapter 1.1
Ning Su was sitting on a moving bus when he opened his eyes.
It was past eleven o’clock at night, and the thick black night covered the entire world. The rough tree branches on both sides of the road cast silent and distorted shadows under the dim yellow lights that were on the verge of extinguishing.
The entire world was silent.
There was a faint smell of blood lingering at the tip of his nose, mixed with a damp and putrid smell.
The bus was a very common long-distance passenger bus, with more than a dozen people sitting on the soft seat.
Ning Su sat in the fifth row by the window. Not long after he opened his eyes, the people in the car woke up one after another, breaking the silence of the world.
“Why am I here?”
“Where’s my phone?”
“My files are gone. What the hell is going on?”
“Driver! Driver stop!”
There were all kinds of people in this ordinary bus, one was in suits, one was wearing blue and white school uniforms, and there was even someone in an elegant ancient costume.
The man in ancient costume was a man in his mid-twenties, with exquisite makeup, sword eyebrows and starry eyes. He laughed.
“Is this a joke by the crew? Are you extra performers invited by the crew? It’s Diao Weiya’s doing, right? What is this?”
He was obviously an actor, and he should be quite famous.
Because Ning Su heard the ponytail girl sitting in front of him exclaim, “I’m actually in the same bus with the big star Fang Enke. It really is a dream.”
Several people on the bus looked at the man in surprise.
Fang Enke was an actor. He knew how to act and was good at managing expressions. He said it with a smile, probably to maintain his image, but in this case, his irritability still leaked from his smile, and his calm expression was almost broken.
The voice then became sharper.
“What about the director? I don’t like this joke. Please stop now!”
“Who is the extra performer?” The man in the suit snorted coldly, with impatience hidden between his sharp brows. “I’m in a hurry to sign a 3.2 billion project, and I have time to be an extra performer here for you?”
When the actor spoke, the eyes of several people in the car fell on him, as if they all knew him. When he was talking, no one interrupted.
Only the man in suits.
The actor was used to being surrounded by others. Hearing people say that, the smile on his face cracked, and he looked at the man in the suit irritably.
When he saw the man’s suit and his eyes fell on the buttons on it, he froze for a moment and restrained his expression.
Then, without knowing what he thought of, his face became more and more ugly, and the slender eyelashes trembled uneasily several times.
Both of them stand in the first row, and the male actor could clearly see the buttons of the man in the suit.
Ning Su sat in the fifth row, but his eyesight was much better than normal, and he could see the buttons clearly.
The button looked very low key. He didn’t know what it was made of. It had a silver-gray cold texture, and the word “Ji” was engraved on it.
On such a small and hard button, the “Ji” is still as written by a famous calligrapher, with extraordinary momentum.
Obviously, these weren’t buttons on a suit that an average person would wear, let alone an extra.
The two men in front fell silent, thinking about each other, but in this inexplicable environment, the weirdness gave rise to uneasiness and anxiety, and it was impossible for everyone to control their emotions like they did.
A muscular middle-aged man in the fourth row, despite their silence, yelled, “Stop the fucking bus!”
The bus was still moving.
He rolled up his sleeves and walked towards the driver, who had been silent in the front. His arms were muscular, and his expression was as frightening as his expression.
“Didn’t I tell you to stop? I’m going to chase that woman who ran away!”
He knocked away the actor standing by the aisle. The actor frowned and said nothing, watching him quietly walking towards the driver.
Just as he was about to approach the driver, a sharp, horrified scream suddenly erupted from the car.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
It was the ponytail girl in front of Ning Su who screamed.
Everyone in the car looked at her, including the muscular man who was going to find the driver. He said in a nasty voice, “What the hell are you screaming for?!”
His heart tightened, piercing the false calm he had tried so hard to maintain, and his anxiety and anger now had an outlet.
The girl with the ponytail looked terrified, unable to speak, and just pointed out the window in panic.
The people in the bus were all focused on the actor, the man in the suit, and the muscular man just now, and they didn’t pay attention to the outside of the bus. Now, when they looked out of the window, they could only see the rear of a passing bus.
It was still thick black outside the window, making it hard to tell whether it was the night or was an inextricable black mist.
It was still so quiet that there was no sound.
Such thick blackness and bottomless silence made people tremble at first glance.
But under the dim headlights, the rear of the bus gave people a sense of stability.
They came here inexplicably, and everything outside the window made them feel a kind of unreal fear. This bus broke the fear of nothingness and had a connection with the real society that made people feel at ease.
The bus was a common passenger bus one would see on roads during the day. The paint on the car was red and white, and the most realistic thing was the license plate number starting with “Dian L”.
“Dian” was the abbreviation of the province in their real life, and “Dian L” represented a real city, where there were cars with license plate numbers starting with “Dian L” everywhere.
As soon as the people in the car settled down a bit, they heard the trembling voice of the girl with the ponytail.
“That bus is full, full of dead people, full of… a bus full of dead people.”
