Savage Limitless - Chapter 2 I Am Not Your Fortune 2
“Where am I?” Ben opened his eyes and looked around. Currently, he was floating in a strange space. His surroundings were dark like a night sky and were glittered with light blue spheres of light.
“Status?”
He called out uncertainly.

“It’s the same thing.” Ben looked sad. Faces of his family members flashed by his eyes as he started crying. The only reason he was able to survive the massacre was because of his LUK stat and he knew this very well.
In the strange space, a youth cried his hearts out.
After what seemed days, Ben finally calmed his emotions and looked at his status window.
His gaze focused on the part where the notice was placed.

In the middle of a dense jungle.
Crackling sounds could be heard as a thatched hut was lit brightly. It was already dark and the hut seemed especially bright.
Inside the hut, one could see the source of the light, a bonfire placed in a dugout region of the hut with a pot placed above it. The pot was hung around a thick rod that was supported by two sticks with split ends.
From the pot, a mesmerising aroma emerged and covered the whole hut. Some of the animals outside the hut could also smell the aroma, but none dared to enter the hut. After all, many of their own species were the food for this demonic man.
“Oh? Finally awake.” The middle-aged man smiled kindly at Ben.
Ben looked around. His brain was processing his surroundings as he tried to get up.
“Don’t get up immediately. You are hurt very badly. Your organs are shaken up and some of them also have signs of internal bleeding. It’s quite a blessing that you are still alive.”
Ben heeded the man’s words and laid down quietly.
“Thank you, mister.” Ben whispered. His face was devoid of emotions.
Looking at the young kid’s face, the man could only shake his head.
“Don’t worry kid, as long as you have your life, you can achieve your goals.” The man spoke lightly and went back to cooking.
Ben was slightly surprised by the lack of technological equipments in this hut. After all, in this era, mankind is able to transverse through stars but this hut looked like the huts found in the mediaeval era.
“Mister, what happened to my salamander?”
“Kid, I am only strong enough to carry you and it was also quite a troublesome task.” The man shook his head and pointed at his left leg.
Ben nodded apologetically and tried getting up once again. This time, it felt a little easier.
***
“Hm? Mister, this is really delicious.” Ben felt the hot soup entering his stomach as the sweet and spicy meat left a wonderful aftertaste. He compared the man to the best chef of the family and still felt that this man could make his family’s chef bow down in shame.
“So, what happened?” The middle-aged man asked kindly.
“My family… they-… those bastards….” Streams of tears started to flow out of Ben’s eyes as the man sighed deeply and patted his shoulders.
“I am sorry, kid. I hope that you can find peace in your life.” He stood up by taking the support of his crutches and walked out of the hut.
Meanwhile, Ben remained drowned in his sorrows.
Outside the hut, the man could see a black shadow waiting near the door. The man quietly closed the door and waved towards the shadow.
As if sensing his master’s command, the shadow moved quickly and walked near the man, speaking in whispers. After hearing the shadow’s report, the expression in the man’s eyes turned hateful and his face twisted in rage.
The shadow quietly slipped inside the man’s Shadow as he waited for his next commands.
Two people, one inside the hut, one outside the hut, drowned themselves in complex emotions and memories.

The man called out softly.

He looked at his stats as his eyes flared in hatred when he saw his special stats.
He slowly contained his emotions as a gentle and kind smile emerged on his face, one befitting to a hermit.
He slowly walked with the support of his crutches and entered the hut once again. No unnecessary emotions could be seen on his face.
He slowly sat down near Ben and waited until he controlled his emotions too.
After some time, Ben finally realised his situation and wiped away his tears. He looked at the man with a sorrowful look and shook his head.
“I apologize for my previous outburst.”
“Don’t worry. I know how it feels when your whole family perishes in front of you. On the other hand, you are quite lucky. Which family did you belong to previously?”
“Luck? I don’t know about that anymore. I am a member of the Kain Family.” Ben replied.
“Kain Family? One of the strongest Military Families of the state?” The man frowned softly.
“How the hell did they” Ray immediately stopped in his tracks and looked apologetically towards Ben.
“Please, don’t look at me like that. I am a member of a military family.” He spoke as he held his head high. He looked like a hero that could face any problems.
“You really have the blood of the Kains. I remember, Masan was just like you when he was young.”
“You know my family head?”
“Yeah, we both were more than friends. We always had each other’s back. But right now, I don’t know how he is doing. Maybe he survived the attack?”
Ray looked at Ben with a hint of anticipation and hope.
Ben frowned and shook his head.
“I am sorry, but I heard those assaulters speak that a Vaporiser has been deployed towards our family to finish the job.” Ben spoke as he gritted his teeth in hate and anger.
“So this means you”
“Kain’s last descendant.” Ben spoke in a serious tone.
It was at this point Ben noticed something strange. Why would he open up to a stranger? It could be regarded that he felt this man was trustworthy because he saved him.
But the fact remained that this man was a stranger and he shouldn’t be opening up to this man without any reason.
“Mister”
Before Ben could complete his sentence, one of the crutches had already pierced his chest. His eyes widened in disbelief and indignation.
“I said that you are quite fortunate. For you have died in the hands of the last descendant of Kain. Ray Kain.” The man’s kind voice turned magnetic and his eyes turned sharp.
‘Ray?…. THAT Ray?’
He couldn’t even think of anything else as his consciousness faded.
The moment Ben’s last breath slipped away, a notification appeared in front of Ray, surprising him greatly.

Spear Spirit City, Godha State.
Spear Spirit City is the capital city of the Godha State. This city not only boasts the mightiest strength, but it is also the home of innovation and technological advancements of the state.
Only the Hanju Province, under the rule of Kain family, can actually compete with the city so strong.
The whole city was surrounded by bluish plasma bubble, acting as the first layer of defense against any unexpected attacks.
Inside the city, one could see various shuttles and hoverboard flying around the city. Tall buildings touched the extreme point of the protective bubble while big holograms could be seen advertising the various products.
But unexpectedly, in this technologically advanced city, one could see a harmony of ancient weapons and modern entertainment services.
Many people could be seen carrying around various swords, guns, crossbows and other weapons from the medieval and industrial era.
A plethora of reinforced armour and mechanical helmets could be seen equipped on various warriors.
Out of all these dazzling existence, one particular entity looked extraordinary.
It was a floating building.
The building floated in the middle of the city. Its size wasn’t too big or too small. The whole building was placed above a giant mechanical structure that was installed with eight giant hoverpads.
The hoverpads kept on giving out soft blue shine and let out a whirring noise, making everybody aware of the true Titan of the city.
The building itself was shaped like an ecliptic structure. The whole surface of the building covered with white grade obsidian steel, letting out a silver shine.
The building had various complicated pattern imprinted by the use of liquid metal. The patterns shined orange, giving a beautiful contrast alongside the silver glow of the obsidian steel.
On the ecliptic structure, there was a clear surface area constructed for the aircraft to land safely. At this very moment, a small aircraft with bent wings and two jet boosters could be seen rushing towards the structure like a meteor.
Inside the cockpit of the aircraft, a man covered in protective suit and an Oxygen mask was trying his best to fly even faster.
‘The Kain Family is exterminated. I need to report it as soon as possible.’
Because of the radiation of the vaporiser, the communication system of the aircraft was deep-fried and he did not have any choice to fly as fast as possible and report the circumstances.
