Save Me I’m Fine - Volume 2
Imagine one day when we wake up, we realize one of the days was erased from our memories? There is a missing gap in our memory, but there is no sane explanation of why we can’t remember it.
Ra-Na woke up from a sickness coated slumber sleep. Perspiration had her clothes clinging to her back, she touched her forehead, it doesn’t scorch her skin anymore.
She remembers her dream, a man putting her in his embrace, lullabied her to sleep as the intense heat searing her body. The dream feels real, she remembers how the cold compressed on her body, taming the fever, and when the warmness takes place, she remembers he said, “If the world rejects you, come to me. I will make you smile again, I’m someone whom can’t bear to lose you again.”
Living in the era of technologies, Ra-Na could only believe that she is thinking too much. It’s not that she is covering the truth but its the only thing she can do for now.
The scents of the man, and his warm embrace, it feels familiar to her. She caught a whiff of an identical musky fragrance from the man preventing her from the accident yesterday too!
The miniature round bronzed analog clock on her bedside table shows 6:30 pm in the evening. She surely has a long sleep after the last thing she remembers collapsing on the floor early in the morning.
A blurry image of a man entering her room resurrected in her memory. She limps along her small, with only one room, a washroom and a narrow kitchen separating her living room, just to be perfectly sure she was alone.
She switch-on every lightbulb available, including the one on the balcony.
Absolutely, the house is too small for a person to hide from her!
No doubt that the penetrating scents are still lingering in her room, indicated that someone had been there. She couldn’t be wrong this time. She landed on her favorite couch as the thought had her feeling dizzy.
“Ah, must be Jin. There is no one but him who always lurking around meddling around my life, Oof!” She blows a full air of breath removing the locks of hair in front of her face.
Just as Ra-Na trying to break the mysterious lingering smells, her stomach growled wailing to be filled. She had not been having any foods since she woke up this morning, that must be the reason for her lightheadedness. Squirming to silence the rambling in her stomach, the doorbell ringed.
She averts her gaze to the front door and again she force-pulled herself to the intercom.
Jin face filled the screen. “I bought you food, open the door.”
Like a dream come true, Ra-Na impatiently release the door lock to let Jin in.
“Vegetarian steam dumpling for you.” He shoved a food paper bag to her. “Greasy food can’t make you any taller.” He added a sarcasm. The same ways they annoyed each other.
Her eyes twinkle as she received the package, more like receiving a trophy. “Great, I’m starving! Thank you!” She accepted it with a heartful of gladfulness.
“Eh, why do you look like someone coming out from a storm? Are you not working today?” Jin queried her. Seeing her unkempt clothes and messy hair.
“What do you mean, how can you not know? Weren’t you the one going in my room this morning?”
“I don’t know that.” Jin put his palm over Ra-Na temple realizing her paler complexion. “You still have little feverish. But, how can I enter your house Ra-Na? I don’t even know your passcode.” His brows furrowing into a worried frown. “Are you sure you are not delusional?”
Seeing that explaining will make her looks even crazier, she admits that she is imagining things. “Ah, the fever must be the culprit of my deliriums then.”
“Jin.”
Someone called him over. They both turned to Vic, who is standing at the front door.
“You live here?” He asked out of curiosity, making them awkward for a moment.
“No, I live next door. Do you like the area then?”
“Yes, the environment and security system is impressive. I can’t wait to move in here, we are going to be neighbor soon.” He said as amus.e.m.e.nt parade from her eccentric contact lenses.
“Yeah, but we don’t get home often, don’t forget that.” Jin reminds him. “I will come out in a while, you can explore the units of this block units first.”
“Alright, I will wait outside,” Vic replied as soon as he gone behind the door.
“That iceman want to live here too? Oh, make sure he lives the other blocks.” Ra-Na whispered to the point only Jin can hear her.
“Don’t say that.” Jin chuckled, easing the awkward bind between Ra-Na and Vic. “He is cold on the outside but warm in the inside, an encyclopedia of human psychological needs. And he is the one suggested me the dumpling for you, he doesn’t like to flatter himself, that’s all.
“Alright, alright, you are in the same band after all. By the way thanks for the food.” Ra-Na rushed Jin to the open door.
“Hey, are you sure you ok?”
“I’m fine, if I’m not ok, it’s not me, get it? Now, go back to your own house, please! Goodbye!”
Ra-Na shut the door before Jin could make any attempt to block the door.
Leaning on the door, Ra-Na quickly resolved her flutter heart. She is worried, is she spending too much time being alone that she started to imagine things? An unknown entity? Whatever it is, it was something that wants to protect her.
It will always be there for her whenever dangers are about to get her.
What or who could it be?
