Saving the overbearing CEO - Chapter 469: Fifth World: The King's Trident
The ice shards exploded into a million pieces obscuring Miyu Ren’s vision. His tentacle-like dark shadows cleared the icicles away only to find Zhao Zhi twirling in the water with magic frost in his hand. A sharp luminous arc of water was formed at the swing of magic frost.
Miyu Ren swam up like a torpedo dodging the attack. The beautiful arc formed by magic frost was incredibly fatal as shown by how it collapsed the building Qie Anzhie fell into earlier. The demon king stretched out his hands sending the dark shadows with sharp pointed tips above Zhao Zhi’s head.
Wen Qinxi immobilized the water above him creating an impenetrable ice shield causing the solidified shadows to shatter like glass on contact. “Impressive….. how about we increase the level of difficulty?” asked Miyu Ren making a strange hand signal. He bit his middle finger drawing blood and finalized his summoning.
The dark shadows surrounding him gathered to form a fierce-looking snakelike figure jolting this nerd. If there is one thing he fears the most it would be snakes and lo and beyond there was one. ‘Damnit,’ he thought before shielding himself by forming a solid water barrier around him.
Miyu Ren naturally didn’t miss this subtle response to his heinous creation. He chuckled and said, “Don’t worry you won’t feel any pain. My baby over here will bite your head off cleanly,” taunting his opponent.
The snake figure stuck out its tongue imitating a real snake as it coiled around Miyu Ren in an action that could only be considered affectionate. At his command, it shot out like a rocket aiming for Zhao Zhi’s frozen solid shield.
Bang! Roar!…. Bang, bang bang!
These were the sounds of the agitated snake figure attempting to break apart the shield surrounding its prey. Miyu Ren was right. He had indeed upgraded his level of attack.
Wen Qinxi could feel the massive power coming from the snake figure beating at his shield. He increased his level of strength holding the barrier in place that his foot sank deeper into the ground creating a dent.
Focusing all his Qi on his hands he bellowed pushing back real hard but it wasn’t enough. The snake figure kept pushing him to the limit that he felt his meridians strained under such pressure.
The queen couldn’t watch on any longer gathering a white light in her hands before sending two spherical beams at the snake. The snake screeched as the pure light energy got in contact with it. It turned its head backwards trying to fend off the light but it was basically impossible.
Miyu Ren was angered by her interference so he swung his hand sending a shadow to immobilize her but she ended up dodging out of the way. The only problem was that her beautiful mermaid tail wasn’t spared.
Though the injury was superficial it hurt so much that she could barely move. “Stay!” yelled Miyu Ren as though addressing a dog, “good girl.”
Wen Qinxi was angered to the point of losing his mind. His anger resulted in a highly unusual phenomenon that would forever be on the tongues of the yao race.
When a king dies his trident with five prongs made up of a blend of tungsten and titanium would vanish and reappear when the next king is appointed.
The culture of not letting mermaids take up the throne meant when a king was appointed by marriage the trident wouldn’t appear. It was only when the direct bloodline of the original yao king sat on the throne would the trident appear.
This meant that since their king wasn’t dead yet just restrained the trident shouldn’t appear but it did and in the hands of the queen’s only child. He wasn’t king but he somehow awakened his bloodline forcibly taking the throne. Believe it or not, it wasn’t intentional on Wen Qinxi’s part. He was just so upset seeing this vile demon hurt the queen.
With a buzzing vibration, the trident spun towards Wen Qinxi as he stretched out his hand to catch it. In one fell swoop, he pierced his own barrier and plunged the luminescent trident into the snake figure making it roar in pain.
He effectively beheaded the creature with a blinding bright light spreading throughout the water. The force pushed away everyone except Miyu Ren who stayed rooted on the spot with great difficulty.
He seemed steady but the blood streaming at the corner of his lips spoke volumes. The power of the trident was indeed formidable worthy of its reputation. It was then that Miyu Ren felt stupid.
He assumed he had never seen the merman king’s trident because he kept it in his interspatial ring or something. Who would have thought he didn’t show it off because he never had it in the first place because he didn’t have the original yao king’s bloodline.
Wen Qinxi spun the trident in his hand and threw it like a javelin at Miyu Ren who dodged as the bright light faded. As he dodged he wanted to retaliate but he suddenly felt like his throat was being strangled. This is when it hit him.
The moment Zhao Zhi attained the trident it made him the most powerful person in this playing field. He could manipulate the entire underwater realm to confine him which meant this was the most dangerous place for this demon to be.
He was never one to play fair so as soon as he had the chance he painstakingly drew an array with his still bleeding finger transporting the both of them out of the underwater realm back to the mortal realm.
“Fuck!” swore Wen Qinxi as he dressed himself in a fine blue robe. He stretched out his hand to catch the trident that followed him through the portal his face as black as the bottom of a charcoal pot.
With his hair still dripping wet from the previous realm, he swapped the trident for magic frost intending to attack the demon king a few feet from him. That’s when he heard a loud bellow causing the ground to tremble and this terrifying sound was coming from the direction of the Zhao sect.
His eyes widened as he murmured, “Lin Lin,” before vanishing into the thin air. The demon king didn’t rush to follow standing in place with a sinister laugh.
“It’s pointless because none of you can defeat my pet,” said Miyu Ren commending their bravery. If it could be defeated why would the king of the underworld confine it under a mountain instead of killing it from the very beginning?
Thinking he could go watch a good show and witness this merman get eaten, he followed behind. After that, he could go and catch the mermaid queen to complete his original plan.
Then he could imprison that stubborn Qie Ranzhe till he was willing to rule beside him. What a delusional demon. His dream was never going to become a reality but who would dare burst that bubble? Not unless that person was tired of living.
I know I am not tired of living so I won’t say jerk and zip my mouth. With that said good luck to this demon king.
