Saving the overbearing CEO - Chapter 489
Nu Shen knew he wasn’t screwing around as she stammered, “I, I fulfilled my en-end. You, you can’t….,” but the lighter was suddenly lit making her panic.
“Holding his hand and flirting wasn’t part of the deal,” he said staring at the lighter with a dark expression as he recalled how that stern-faced person smiled ever so sweetly at Nu Shen. He had never smiled at anyone in that school building except for Nu Shen. His heart twisted painfully when he thought of it.
“Okay, okay I might have gone a little overboard but I will stay away from him just, just be cool and give me that,” she said trying to save Sailor Luna from the clutches of evil.
“Mn, I will give it to you when I am satisfied,” he said tossing the lighter in the cupholder in front and slipped the card in his pocket before opening the car door.
It was around this time that Wen Qinxi finally toughened up and wrote that letter which was also confiscated by Qie Ranzhe after Machu spotted the nerd slip the letter in Nu Shen’s desk.
Wen Qinxi did notice that Nu Shen’s attitude had changed but he just assumed it was because of the love letter so he resorted to his old self occasionally glancing over in Nu Shen’s direction. This annoyed Qie Ranzhe so much that he had to do something about it.
He had the school trip before the university entrance exam changed from a museum trip to a camping trip. This would undoubtedly give him access to Gecko. Mama Wen wasn’t too pleased with the sudden trip change but she accepted it and packed up too many things for him.
When they arrived Wen Qinxi had to share a tent with a schoolmate in class two. His name was Ba Gua and they were in the same club so it was the least bit awkward for Wen Qinxi.
They seemed to get along on the first day but Ba Gua’s attitude changed the next morning. Wen Qinxi had no idea how he had offended him. He assumed maybe he had been snoring loudly the previous night or something. What he didn’t know was that Ba Gua was woken up in the middle of the night by Qie Ranzhe and his henchman.
He was told to take his sleeping bag and spend the night in a tent Machu was meant to share with Qie Ranzhe. Machu didn’t forget to threaten him while he was at it. If he were to breathe a word of what happened tonight he would have his dirty business aired out in the open.
This nerd who slept like the dead had no idea the person he shared a tent with was Qie Ranzhe. Qie Ranzhe didn’t do anything to him except using the suggestive technique he had learnt to make Gecko lose interest in Nu Shen. For two nights during that camping trip, Qie Ranzhe slept beside him watching him all night with the occasional cheek caress which he enjoyed very much.
Ba Gua’s attitude became uglier even after the camping trip. He really believed Wen Qinxi and Qie Ranzhe were in that kind of relationship which is why the club miraculously got funds to build a medical robot and develop an AI which was Wen Qinxi’s forte.
He found Wen Qinxi disgusting believing he had sold his ass to a rich young master for benefits. He carried the very same attitude into GameX when he found out about Wen Qinxi who entered the company after him was entrusted with Flagship.
He had already mentioned it before to his colleagues but once Wen Qinxi joined the team working on Flagship he intensified the spread of the rumours damaging Wen Qinxi’s reputation.
After the camping trip, Wen Qinxi seemed to no longer care much about Nu Shen. Anyway, it wasn’t like he was in love or something though he did like her. Teens that age usually have fickle feelings so he stopped caring much.
But after this trip, things seemed to take a turn for the worst for Qie Ranzhe. His parents who had been fighting none stop had finally called it quits with his mother kicked out of the house like she was the third wheel in that relationship.
His mother’s mood dropped and she was diagnosed with depression. He took on the task to take care of her with the only bright light in his life being Gecko.
He could look at his pictures after a terrible day and his bad mood would be lifted making him happy again. That is until he got home one day and his mother was sitting in the lounge with a stack of pictures placed in front of her.
She had just come out of her appointment with the therapist when the receptionist handed an envelope to her saying some delivery company had left it for her. She thanked her and walked into her car opening the envelope as they drove back to her mansion.
Inside were conversations between her son and Machu about some boy named Gecko. They were loads of pictures of this delicate average boy transferred to Qie Ranzhe’s cellphone by Machu. Not only that but it seemed her son shared a tent with that kid at the camping trip and words like charming and sweet were used in the messages.
Her reaction terrified the driver into almost swaying the car out of the road. If it weren’t for his training they surely would have gotten into a fender bender that day. She screamed so much tearing some of the pictures while she was at it.
She wasn’t certain who gathered this information and what their intentions were. It could have been that slut who took her place or the Qie family. She didn’t know who did it but she had to stop her son otherwise she would lose more face than she already had.
This is why when he walked into the house she had on a dark expression. She didn’t respond when he spoke to her so he walked over only to find his two-year history laid out on the table for him to see. His secret was out before he even got to confess his feelings. He reprimanded himself for being careless.
While trying to come up with the right words to speak his truth his mother suddenly stood up and slapped him so hard that he started seeing black spots. His mother had never raised her hand to hit him but today she did leaving behind scratches on his face.
“Mother,” he called out with bloodshot eyes but another loud pa sound echoed in the room as she backhandedly slapped him. The metal taste of blood filled his mouth as he accidentally bit his cheek in the process.
“He threw me out for that slut and her bastard child and you decide it is in your best interest to do this?” she yelled as she threw the papers in his face her chest heaving in anger, “Do you want to give him a reason to replace you as heir? Huh? Is that what you fucking want? I have no issues with gay people but not you. Not my son! We have already lost too much, do you hear me!”
