Saving the overbearing CEO - Chapter 536
Having been disturbed by the constant ringing of the cellphone, Qie Ranzhe had a strong urge to reach out and smash it into the wall. He wasn’t the kind to pay stupid tax which is ‘breaking functional personal property out of anger only to have to replace it’ i.e. stupid tax but he was really losing his shit right now.
Wen Qinxi patted his arm that was holding his waist and said, “Ran-ge, answer it….. it’s annoying.”
Qie Ranzhe drew him closer and whispered into his ear, “Will we be able to continue after I pick it up?”
“Mn, I promise. Scout’s honour,” replied Wen Qinxi with a three-finger salute like a real boy scout.
Feeling a little doubtful, Qie Ranzhe reluctantly let him go and got off the bed to pick up his cellphone. It was Li Menxie calling him. He gave Wen Qinxi a once over glance and seeing that he was wide awake staring at him, he finally picked up the call.
“What do you want?” asked Qie Ranzhe in an impolite tone. As to why he was being rude to his secretary? It was because it was this late already and she had just disturbed his erotic session with his dirty Kitty over there.
He was standing naked with his arousal pointing south while twitching so how can he not be upset? A soft honeyed voice transmitted through the cell phone further infuriating him. “Sorry, sir to di-disturb you but… I, I, um,” she stammered with a slight quaver in her voice.
If one was to overhear this conversation it would play right into a good old fashioned dog blood plot where the secretary would be calling her boss to let him know she was pregnant while his boyfriend was half-naked in bed waiting for him.
“Spit it out, I don’t have time,” said Qie Ranzhe staring at Wen Qinxi in his peripheral view. The man was rolling over on the bed looking somewhat restless.
Li Menxie sniffled woefully as she tightly clutched the cellphone in her hand. She was obviously crying. “Ma-madam fired me today. She sent a courier company to deliver a letter of dismissal and claimed that I violated my contract,” she explained expressing her grievances clearly.
Qie Ranzhe knew this had to do with how his mother found out about his shares going to Wen Qinxi plus the fact that they were dating. It was obvious Li Menxie opened her usually discrete mouth and sold him out to his mother but what she didn’t expect was that her moral and ethical integrity was brought to question.
Dai Lee didn’t appreciate her disclosing her son’s private business even if it was only to her. What confidence can she have that she wouldn’t say anything to anyone else? Qie Ranzhe would have eventually gotten to it but his mother took charge of the situation and fired Li Menxie on his behalf. As to the motive behind her breaking her non-disclosure agreement that remained a mystery.
“Si-sir I have, I have been working for you for a long time and…. she doesn’t have a right to dismiss me….. I,” she said but Qie Ranzhe was simply running out of patients.
“She can fire you more especially if the person has malicious intentions towards me or the company. She is a major shareholder as well and has my permission to proceed,” he said ready to drop the call.
This is what he and his mother called the bullying protection act. Ridiculous right? She could fire his bodyguards, his cook, his driver and even his dog walker if he had a dog. She could fire anyone from his work life all the way to his private life as long as she suspects malicious intent.
That’s because he was at times too busy to notice these things plus his mother had a woman’s intuition so should could easily spot certain things. Over the years he had lost one cook and a hairstylist. His mother had explained that it was because they were gossiping about him on Weibo.
Now he had lost a secretary. A sudden idea crept up his mind as he took a glimpse over at the kitty high on catnip lying on his bed. If he makes Wen Qinxi his assistant it would be a waste of talent but they wouldn’t be roleplaying anymore when they do some office play.
Wen Qinxi who was being stared at pretended to glower at him and asked, “What?” before chuckling while lifting the quilt.
Qie Ranzhe placed his hand on the cellphone speaker and whispered, “If you keep acting cute I will come over there and eat you up.”
He was about to remove his hand from the speaker when he heard a soft voice coming from under the quilt. “As a main course or dessert. I am yummy both ways,” replied Wen Qinxi struggling to keep his eyes open.
Qie Ranzhe’s lips couldn’t resist quirking up into a smile as he responded, “Give me a second and I will make a three-course meal out of you,” he then took his hand off the cellphone speaker and said, “You broke the non-disclosure agreement and I will be pursuing legal action against you so get your house in order.”
He immediately cut the call after that and walked to the bed with his sword drawn for battle. He climbed on top of Wen Qinxi and peeled off the quilt in anticipation. As soon as that quilt rolled off the smile on his face froze.
This little minx had taken it upon himself to fall asleep just like that. He had a feeling that something like this would happen yet he was stupid enough to believe this little liar. After this, he vowed to make Li Menxie’s life a living hell. Meanwhile, Li Menxie who was wailing in her mother’s arms felt a strange chill creep up her spine making her shudder in fear.
Qie Ranzhe knew he shouldn’t wake him up but he couldn’t take another shower. He got inside the quilt and embraced Wen Qinxi by the waist with his hot rod rubbing against the man’s hip. “Baby, you have two options… it’s either you wake up of your own volition or something will wake you up in between your legs,” he whispered while teasing Wen Qinxi’s ear.
But his threat was the least bit effective. Wen Qinxi rolled over and placed his leg on top of Qie Ranzhe’s and wrapped his arm around him without opening his eyes. “Hmm,” he said with a throaty chuckle hugging him tighter.
Qie Ranzhe heaved a deep sigh at a loss of what to do. He could take care of it himself by himself but he couldn’t move because his lover was like a boulder in his sleep. A genetic combination of a boulder hard to move and an octopus hard to peel off. He couldn’t free himself no matter how hard he tried. He vowed to make his lover pay for all his crimes tomorrow and sure enough, he kept to his word.
The very next day, Wen Qinxi woke up to a note and a tray by his bedside. The note was especially sweet. It said:
Good morning Babe,
Have some breakfast in bed and after eating I left a surprise for you in the closet.
Oh, and don’t forget to take your medicine.
Your dashingly handsome man.
