Searching For Andromeda - Chapter 107 Take Him Down
The world was a rotten, cruel place.
And Patriarg was the quintessence of its rot.
Patriarg’s monarchy was falling into ruins. Its people were protesting about how the country was fallen from gracehow the newly ascended king, Rodga, had led the country into its demise. Although Patriarg wasn’t doing good for the past generations, it wasn’t as impoverished as it is right now.
Slums are growing larger, nobles are getting greedier, and taxes were skyrocketing high. Patriarg was in its low, and rumors proved to scare even the king. Rumors about a revolta civil war. Rodga, the current king, signed so many questionable laws that even the common people started to doubt whether he was actually thinking straight.
One of the laws he had signed is the slum area renovation.
It had risen the taxes steeply, increasing the throes of disapproval amongst civilians. Many believed and speculated that it was a front for another shameless corruption, for nothing seemed to have come out of it. The slum area wasn’t renovated despite them reaching the ‘quota’ set by the government.
However
There was nothing that came out from it, other than an announcement about the government starting the project ‘soon’.
But how in the world would this even concern a slave locked in a cage?
Jaxon waited for nothing but food. The outside world was a dream he couldn’t even achieve. If slums were considered as people who got nothing, then he was a rejecthe was a slave the moment he was born in this rotten world. Before he could even learn how to speak, he already was bound by shackles.
Jaxon knew how to talk as he listened to people coming by. They would discuss about politics, the finest slaves, and many other things. Soon Jaxon was able to grasp where he was. He was in Patriarg, a country that was governed by its 111th king, Rodga Patriare. Rodga was the son of the late king who was murdered by undistinguished assassins. His father died a gruesome death, leaving him with his mother and one other younger sister. Rodga was the only one qualified to be king given the fact that he was the only male in the royal family.
Queen dowager appointed him as the sole heir, and thus Rodga became Patriarg’s king. And Rodga, who was rumored to be uneducated and shameless unlike his sister, Rebecca, became a corrupt monarch. He ruled with no discretion and did things that he had pleased.
People’s views for him were as dark as it could beand his reputation was sullied the more these rumors spread. And they hold truth, because povertyamong many other thingswas so much conspicuous in the country. Patriarg was long fallen from glory, they said.
And Jaxon believes it to be so.
When King Rodga ascended upon the throne, he signed a petitiona petition that permits parents to sell their children to slave traders.
“We do not have any more capital to spend,” Rodga said; “And so, we must think wisely. What is it that people can make indefinitely that doesn’t require raw materials and money? That’s right! Children. Women can make many children as much as we’d like, and they would get pleasure out of it as well and money! Yes. This way, Patriarg’s economy would flourish yet again.”
A king that centers around the objectification of women and childrenlives and power. Knowing this as a fact, people must have made him step down to the throne.
But no
He was still in there, sitting on that golden cathedra, wielding his scepter like a powerful sovereign holding dignity. People didn’t make him step down. Even if he was opposed to loud throes of disapproval, many had approved of his unethical choice.
And thus started hell.
Jaxon was one of those children that were made by people who wanted to have money. They mass-produce slaves. Many countries around the globe heard of thisheard of the law the 111th king made. But nothing came over King Rodga. Patriarg was his’, and people didn’t have authority over him.
Until they came.
Robed in red shawls, with necklaces dangling around their necks; its pendant a hexagram with an eye in the middle. They called themselves the ‘Organization’ and they said they served utmost good.
By this time, the slave boy Jaxon was already out of the merchant’s grasphe was in Patriarg’s slum areas, which was considered a forsaken ground for the lowest of the low. But in the slums he, and the girl he considered to be his only family, Miko, were safe.
The organization said that they would restore Patriarg to its former glory. They helped the people, fed the poor, and gave clothes to the needy. They helped everyone and gained their trust, including Jaxon.
“They’re giving batches of soup again?” Miko said. “They’ve done it three times this day already”
“They aren’t only giving portions to the slums. They’re feeding the normal civilians too,” prided Jaxon.
“That’s taxing. I wonder why they’re helping us? Is it preparation to win over the people’s hearts before invading their country?” Miko speculated, “or is it because they’re planning to use the people’s support to overthrow its government?”
“Miko!” Jaxon scolded. “They’re good people. That’s all.”
“Hmm,” Miko caressed her chin. “But Jax the organization”
“said they didn’t belong to any country. It means they’re people moving on their own. For the greater good.” Jaxon said. “And I believe you should think about them too being like that. We should be grateful, Miko”
“Right,” Miko said in a low voice. “I’m sorry, Jaxon.”
At that time, Jaxon believed Patriarg was moving towards a change. A change for the good.
But he was only hopeful.
“Strengthening the 111th King’s Slave Petition.”
“No one in this country could ever migrate.”
“The mass-producing of slaves to increase the economy.”
“We, the organization, will carry on the duties of the 111th king.”
Patriarg, the fallen country, is now under control
By even a more nefarious force.

Jaxon ran away, pushing the barrels he was stumbling upon his path. The ship’s passageway was a tinge of dim orange, coming from the fire of the oil lamps. And this fire reminded him of the burning dungeon conqueror.
The ship was creaking and was swaying slightly. This magic ship, which could only be maneuvered by him, was given by Ria Sparrows, a man that is a member of the same organization that lay waste upon his country.
But who cares about his homeland? That country was already wreck and ruinsand there was no chance it could rise again. It was hopeless for its people, and Jaxon couldn’t care any less. The world is rotten and so are its people.
And to be able to avoid the shackles of his country pulling his freedom awayhe had to be the one to shackle those childrenhe MUST be the one to get rid of their dreams.
“Absolute obedience?”
“Yes, absolute obedience. I want you to be our primary slave trader across the world.” Ria exclaimed. “You, Jaxon Sparrows, will be the organization’s mighty pirate. You will cross the seasfrom the Escota Pacific to the Shawl Ocean. To the Shroud Ocean to the Black Sea. You will be our pirate that will distribute the goods to our top buyers.”
HE was the chosen one. He was the one who was given the name Sparrows, from Ria, the one who held the organization’s golden tier. For many years he was able to transport high-quality goods. Jaxon, after all, grew in a slave merchant’s den. He knew at a young age what a high-quality product was. Health, charm, and the eyesthese qualities were the ones that determine the eminence of a slave. And he was an expert for it.
This is why when the organization called him to track down the newfangled dungeon conqueror from Alaris, who, coincidentally, was sailing to Patriarg by that timeJaxon was in ecstatic.
“He has a special vessel. We want you to get the vessel for us.” Ria said. “His companion is a child as well, so you can also sell him.”
The plan was to kill the dungeon conqueror and get his vessel, AND then sell his companion.
But then
“Jax . . . a call for you,”
“HUH?! YOU answer it, Miko! I’m kind of busy right now!”
“It’s THEM,”
Jaxon picked the call, rather a little impatiently because of his irate at that cocky boy who called himself Samuel.
“Jaxon. There is a change in plans.” It was Ria. Jaxon’s creased brows eventually softened as he hears his mentor’s voice. “The higher-ups told us that the dungeon conqueror must be brought alive. You haven’t killed him, have you?”
“No,” Jaxon answered. “But I left five of my minions to the ship he’s in. We’ll come and get him right about now to prevent bloodshed. Anything else?”
“Nothing more,” Ria exclaimed. “Do what you must.”
“Absolute obedience,” Jaxon spouted. “I will.”
Jaxon Sparrows gritted his teeth.
Absolute obedience.
He had to follow Ria’s instructions without fail; he had to follow the organization to keep his shackles away.
“If I can’t win,” Jaxon murmured as he arrives in his quarters. “Then there’s only one thing to do”
Jaxon stood up after getting another set of rapier, throwing his charred weapon off the ground.
“If I can’t win” Jaxon sheathed his sword. “Then I’ll just take him down along with this ship he had set on fire!”

“Now it’s our young researcher, arrogant and youthful boy’s turn! Give way to Samuel Albrecht!”
“This is dumb.”
Chain glared. “JUST. DO. IT.”
“Fine. Mic test. One… two…” Samuel faked a cough. “Alright. I have a joke that only works with big-brained people…”
“So… what’s the fastest way to determine the sex of a chromosome?”
“What?” The audience asked in chorus.
“You pull down their genes,” Samuel said. “Dumb, right?”
