Searching For Andromeda - Chapter 113 Last Piece To The Puzzle
Believe what you see and half of what you hear.
Or in simpler terms, actions are better than words.
“I promise I’ll save you all” He grinned. “I promise we’ll all get out of here safe and sound!”
Samuel remembered the words he had spouted. Empty promises created from faith. He solely believed that faith will create truthlike how the scientists believed they could do seemingly the impossibly ridiculous and prove it right to the world. Faith, they hadand truth, they created. All those inventions were the fruit of all their faith. If there’s anything Samuel learned from all the significant figures who contributed to the world of science, it would be to have faith.
Because faith will be your driving force to create truth.
Back when Samuel was in Shey Ramgold’s house, he was on a state of what one would often call ‘battling with your own thoughts’but Sam was different from other people. People’s ‘mind battles’ were wars for him due to his high retention rate of information. Samuel would find himself engrossed with a task of actually thinking he was in another reverie, or a nightmare if he would overthink. These thoughts took the far worse turn when he had arrived at the Red Alaris Guild.
The piercing contempt, the hatred in their eyes, and the questions of loathing and ‘whys’. Samuel could hear them. Hear their thoughts.
Believe what you see, and half of what you hear.
No one was saying anything that directed to them, yet he could see it in their actions. Their eyes, the intonation of their voice, and their subtle gestures. Samuel could see it all. And he didn’t blame them.
For the first time in Samuel’s life, he let himself succumb.
He believed that these people were right.
They were undeserving to get that ‘vessel’ and survive, while Yael and the others died.
Samuel, who was typically the arrogant brat (as people liked to call him), let these people look at him with hate. It was valid hate because he himself believed them. He survived, while those five had died. They died so gruesomely. They went in that dungeon for a goalthey trained, and equipped themselves to be able to survive the onslaughts awaiting them, and for a goal as grand as to save a country.
Who could beat that? To save a country. To save its people. The children. Yael and the others dedicated themselves to accomplish that by acquiring Wahid’s vessel. Wahid’s vessel, the tome of knowledge where a deity lies inside a certain weapon strong enough to have its conqueror establish his own country. They weren’t exaggerating, Samuel knows that. These people were telling the truth, considering magic itself existed in this fantasy world.
Samuel realized he couldn’t be the usual Sam in this world who would be smart enough to act cocky on someone older (like Ephraim). Samuel considered himself mellowing, like a solid material turning into a fluid. Someone boring and complacent.
And then, when he realized this, he also came to the conclusion why he was being so gloomy.
He was grieving.
For the group. For Yael, Vashti, Hosea, Pelmon, and Arletha.
When he came to that enlightenment he instantly went to pull himself together and then decided to move forward. To have a goal he can accomplish. To find his purpose. And to unveil the secrets that would be a sail away.
“I promise I will save you all!”
That was what Yael wanted. It was his goal. And Samuel will take on the goal of his saviornot to compensate or to return a favor
It was because it felt right.
And faithhe had.
And truth, he will create.

The orange hue had spread across the entire ship and the Sunken Pirate’s crew began to become rattled. The ship was rocking as the planks creaked, and waters from the outside surged to the broken orifices generated by the breaking wood. The ocean water came from every possible directionsome with larger water currents, some with smaller hinges. The ocean water had reached their ankles as it gushed in gradually.
“Where’s the captain?!”
“He has a water barrier or some sort around the ship, right?! What the hell is happening? Water is breaking through!”
Muscled men who looked like former mercenaries and sailorsthose were Jaxon Sparrows’ crew. They were hired out of jail and were bound to serve Jaxon as he is in the protection of the organization. These muscled men were tan and were wearing the stereotypical pirate crew outfits seen in movies.
“We have to get to the capstan and the control chamber to have the ship float aboveground! It’s still maneuvered to sail underwater even if it doesn’t have the barrier!”
Jaxon’s crew were confused as can be. The control chambers were only known to Jaxon himself as he is the owner of the galleon. It was a magic-powered ship that was also maneuvered manually which was too complicated for any sailor. However, being in a dire situation, anyone was willing to give it a shot.
“We have to get into the control room or else the ship will sink and we’ll all die!”
And as one of the crew said this, the planks below them burst into flames. Water leaked from the floors down to the destroyed plank, creating steam as water met fire. The crew then drew their swords, growing vigilant. The ship was still creating rocking motions and water had continued to course through the apertures, soaking the sailors while they held to the pillar for support as the ship swayed fervidly.
“Wh-what’s happening?”
The ship creaked whilst the smoke gradually cleared. Appearing below them was a silhouettea figure of a young man letting off the steam.
“Hey, isn’t that”
“That’s right, that’s THAT person, isn’t it?”
Appearing before them was a young man loosely gripping his sword, eyes closed and were slightly drenched from both the ocean water and the steam. The crew held to their weapons as they instantly realized who the young man was.
“The dungeon conqueror!”

Ephraim thought about what the dragon had saidabout him succumbing to Nar instead of controlling him. Although Ephraim understood what the guardian was trying to say, he was still confused about how to impose control over this certain vessel.
And so, he yelled inside his thoughts
“You will obey me, Nar!”
But then, nothing happened.
Ephraim tried over and over again to stop the flames by thinking he’s controlling the flames. But nothing happened even how hard he tried.
And when he was on the brink of losing hope, the planks above him corroded as ocean water leaked out. The fire on Ephraim died down as a gush of water plummeted straight to him. The impact made him close his eyes as he tried to keep his feet straight to the ground.
“The dungeon conqueror!”
One by one Jaxon Sparrows’ crew landed just a distance away from him; in an instant, each of the pirate crew clashed their blades towards him without hesitation. Ephraim, whose flames had now died down, still wasn’t feeling over-the-top. His body heat was still several degrees Celsius higher than normal, and his grip on his swordwhich was hot to the touchwas loosening.
Ephraim gritted his teeth. Now his body is applying the natural laws at the most inconvenient time!
Ephraim’s palms were sore red from the hot grip of his sword, yet he pushed through and swung the blade to the air as he parried the attacks. The ship rocked vehemently with strong vibrations, sending Ephraim and the enemies athwart.
A strong current gushed through the ship, separating Ephraim from the pirates. The waters drowned him as he was pushed on the opposite side. After a few moments of struggling, Ephraim was able to rise, even if it was just his head. He coughed several times as everything around him seemed to blur and then clear. The saltwater was hurting his eyes with a painful sting, but thanks to the pain he was able to pull himself away from the rushing water into one of the ladders etched against the wall. Ephraim supported himself by holding onto the floating barrels and then sheathing his sword. He then began to climb upwards
“He’s getting away!”
Ephraim gritted his teeth and continued to pull through as he climbed the ladder, not minding where it would lead.

“I will save all of you!” Samuel said, carrying the children in his arms. However, before he could even savior the feeling of being a ‘hero,’ the ship rocked vehemently, sending Samuel thrown straight to the cobblestone wall. It was a good thing that his reflexes were high, as he was able to shield the children with his arms before his body could hit the cobblestone.
The ocean water which had gradually risen earlier was now surging in at a rapid pace. The children wailed as it slowly reached Samuel’s chest.
“Dammitat this rate, it’ll be hard to move!” Samuel grunted in frustration. He was soaked all over and the water was coursing in too fast. He couldn’t get out of the cell.
Samuel was able to move back to the iron bars to see what was happening outside if Miko and the other children were safe
And then, that’s where Samuel saw HIM.
“Samuel, protect the children!”
Samuel’s electric blue eyes widened as he sees an orange-colored hue sparking from the white and gold blade being held by that one person that would complete his escape plan.
The last piece to the puzzle
“Ephraim!”
