Second Chance In The Apocalyptic World - 63 Getting Attacked
“But-”
“No, I am sorry but we can’t take you…. but you don’t have to worry about food, the three of us will be more than enough to clear the cold storage,” Matt stated
“Dad! Matt is right you won’t be able to keep up with them so sit here and wait for the guys” Rose said as she grabbed her father’s hand.
“I know you feel grateful to them and want to help but this is not the way honey! I am sure they will ask for help when they need it,” said Isabella Wilson, Wade’s wife.
Wade nodded his head and stopped insisting to go with the three of them and sat back on the sofa.
Matt, Ethan, and Mike once again used the Elevator to reach the Hotel Lobby as they knew that the kitchen was on the ground floor.
As the three of them came in the Lobby, Mike was surprised to see so many dead bodies of the zombies laying around the reception desk then turned his head towards Matt and Ethan and saw they weren’t even looking in that direction and we’re trying to find the way towards the Kitchen. Seeing their behavior Mike easily concluded that they were the ones who slaughtered the zombies’ around the reception desk.
‘Fuck! I am way behind the two of them’ thought Mike and promised himself that he would get better at this.
After looking around for a while they found the door of the kitchen and moved towards it. Before entering the kitchen Matt expanded the Map to check the hostile near them. Even if it didn’t show 3D version Matt thought it was better then nothing.
From the map, Matt saw that there were 9 to 10 red color icons and 4 yellow color icons. Matt already knew that the 2 yellow color icons were the two girls on the rooftop but he didn’t know about the other two and was surprised to see them as in that place last night only two yellow icons were present in the map.
“Where the hell did these two came from?” Matt mumbled.
“Huh! Did you said something Matt?” asked Mike when he heard Matt mumble something.
“Oh! I was just saying that be alert and don’t get jumped by a zombie” Matt said not thinking much about the two yellow icons much as for all he knew they may be in the underground garage or in some other room in the building.
Entering the kitchen the three of them saw the blood that was spilled on the ground but there wasn’t a body there. Walking inside the heard the rattling sound of utensils falling telling them the zombie was 3 meters away from them towards the right. Matt reacted fast and rushed towards the place, jumping over the bar he saw the zombie wearing the uniform of a chef still holding on to his kitchen knife.
“Quite the dedication you had for your field,” said Matt and before the Chef Zombie could even jump at him Matt had removed his head from his body.
By the time Mike and Ethan reached the place, Matt had already kept his American Black eagle in its sheath on his waist.
“You guys need to move fast, we don’t know how many zombies there are so we can’t be nonchalant. Though I and Ethan cleared the Lobby yesterday and the chances of most of the staff, including the kitchen staff being in them is great but we can’t take any risk.” Matt said, he knew that there won’t be 2 or 3 more zombies at most if there were any left because after the uproar that he and Ethan made yesterday every zombie on the ground floor had rushed towards them but he wanted the two of them to start learning to be vigilant.
After walking around for a bit they found 3 more zombie’s one of which was already dead by taking a high heel sandal through its eye in his brain while the other two were not far from his dead body standing in front of the door of a giant steel door. Which was most likely the door of the place they were trying to find! the cold storage.
Matt let Mike and Ethan take care of the two zombies while he himself checked the body of the third zombie.
Seeing the high heel sandal embedded in his eyes and the two zombies’ near the cold storage Matt had already guessed that the two yellow color icon he saw in his map was referring to the two people who were hiding inside the cold storage and at least one of them was a girl. But the surprising thing was they were still alive! Matt couldn’t even think how the two people inside the cold storage were even alive and haven’t died due to frostbite.
‘Tsk… It will become another headache to take care of the two of them. The number of peoples around me are increasing day by day and I am not strong enough to take care of so many people!’ though Matt as he remembered that there were two more girls up in the rooftop as well.
“Matt! should we open the cold storage,” asked Mike after he and Ethan had taken care of the two zombies.
“Yeah let’s do that!” Matt said as he walked towards the two of them.
Hearing Matt’s answer, Ethan and Mike turned the liver of the cold storage and opened the steel door.
“Let’s see who these people are to survive such cold temperature!” Matt mumbled as the door opened in front of him.
Matt who was waiting to see two bodies lying in the corner, shivering from cold was surprised to see a knife coming straight towards his face dodged the knife and couldn’t help but curse in his mind ‘What the hell!?’
But it looked like the person holding the knife wasn’t finished as he changed the direction of the knife mid-way and swings it towards Matt’s neck.
Matt who was already kind enough to dodge the knife the first time instead of retaliating became a little pissed and caught the hand holding the knife and pulled the person towards him while twisting the wrist making the person turn it’s back to him allowing Matt to lock the person’s neck with his other hand.
“Wait!”
