Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 19
After she was done with inciting the seven year old boy, Odette went back to her room and waited for the maids to bring Adrian to her room.
In her last life, she had not spoken such words with Dennis, and she was excited to see what impact her words towards him would cause.
Dennis had an ambitious personality from the beginning, and even without her words, he would have done the same. It was just that he would have been more careful and slow with his actions.
However, now with her support on him— at least that was what he believed— he would not be careful, and his methods to dispose off Adrian would be much cruel.
That was what she needed. Her impatience made it difficult for Odette to wait, and although there were greater chance of her making mistakes with hastening things up, she did not care.
Things would be amusing if they got difficult for her. There were no fun in achieving things through the easy method.
The door to her room had opened, and hearing the noise, she turned her head towards the door. Odette was seated upon the room, and watching the little boy walk in, she got down from the bed.
Adrian walked into the room alone, just like she had mentioned it earlier to the maid, and nervousness radiated off of him as he stepped further into her room.
Now that he was clean and dressed neatly, he appeared more endearing than before, and while he had made small steps towards her, he reminded her of little rabbit.
After taking a couple of steps forward, Adrian halted in his steps before her and continued to stare at the ground. Due to anxiety, he chewed on his bottom lip and fidgeted with his fingers.
Even though it was not able to rival the one on Adrian’s face, she put on a cute and innocent outlook, and approached him.
“Adrian, you don’t need to be that scared of me. I won’t bite you unless you do something bad. You won’t be doing bad things, right?” Odette vocalised in a gentle tone.
Her words caused his doe eyes to widen, and raising his head, he stared at her in surprise. Looking at his adorable countenance, Odette had to hold it in within herself to not pinch and tease him.
“You bite people?” Adrian questioned after a gasp escaped from his mouth.
She could not help but release a chuckle after that. Maybe because she had not interacted with normal children much that she found his reaction extremely endearing.
“Why? Are you scared of that?” she questioned softly.
He nodded his head and vocalised, “Mom told me stories on how scary monsters bite people and eat them. But you don’t look scary at all. So, why do you bite people?”
“It’s just as your mom says. I am a scary monster. Just because I look beautiful on the outside doesn’t mean I am not a scary monster. Scary monster does not always look scary,” she explained.
“Why are they called scary monster if they don’t look scary?” he asked.
The innocence and purity within the boy was much more than she had originally expected, and seeing this only made her more enthusiastic to taint him. Things would have been boring if he was easily tainted after all.
It appeared that the smiling expression and the gentle tone made the boy more comfortable around her, and the nervousness from earlier had disappeared.
“Weren’t you scared from me earlier back in that room?” she questioned, raising one of her eyebrows.
Shaking his head instantly at that in denial, he said, “No, you’re pretty; you’re not scary.”
Laughter elicited from her mouth. This was the first time someone had complimented her this nicely without any ulterior motives behind it.
Extending her hand towards the boy, she pinched on his cheek slightly and spoke out, “Adrian, you don’t have to lie to make me feel good. You were trembling back in that room.”
Once again he shook his head left and right in refusal and stated, “No, you were not scary at all. Everyone was looking at me, and I don’t like that. You are the only one who is not mean to me. I like you. You are a good person.”
Adrian was too innocent for his own good. The way he was calling his predator a good person was something she found amusing. All the kids were intimidated by her yet he remained oblivious. Odette wondered what he would do when he knew what type of person she truly was.
Adrian then continued, “But that Dennis is a scary monster. He screams at me and says how he will be killing me. I don’t like him at all. You will protect me from him, right?”
Seeing him acting like this caused excitement to rise within Odette. As expected, she had a strange obsession when it came to pure things. She was really foolish to let such a chance go to waste in her last life.
“Why? Why should I protect you?” she asked, arching both of her eyebrows.
He let out a giggle after listening to her words and voiced out, “That’s because you’re a good person. Aren’t good people the heroes? Heroes always defeat the villains, right?”
His words reminded her of how he had finished off the Albinius family and killed her in her last life, and she stated, “You’re right. Those myths are the truths. The heroes always kill off the bad villains. But what do you think would happen if heroes side with the villains?”
“Doesn’t that mean that villain is fake villain? Heroes don’t side with the bad guys. That’s what my mom told me, and my mom is always right. Only one time she was wrong. She told me that she would not be leaving me ever, but she still left me,” Adrian vocalised as he lowered his gaze.
His eyelashes fluttered while a crestfallen expression sat on his face.
