Second Chance: Raising A Yandere Demon Lord - Chapter 26
“I am here, Mother,” Odette voiced out as she bowed.
Raising her head, she stared at the grand room with a small smile on her face, and her eyes went towards the woman sitting on the couch whose hand held on to cup of tea.
“Get out!” Valentina exclaimed.
Upon the loud order of hers, many of the maids present in the room shuddered, and without wasting a second, they stepped out of the room.
After a glance at Odette for confirmation, the maids that came along with her left the room as well.
“It has been a long time. How have you been, Mother?” Odette spoke out, staying over at her place.
Odette was well aware of the tantrum Valentina would throw if she moved forward, and dealing with that was something she detested. Even though Valentina was a smart woman, she was foolish as well.
She could have led a more peaceful life yet she decided to get involved with her father. In the end, she was barely able to live long.
Noticing something, Odette instinctively closed her eyes, and a sharp pain went through her head. Soon enough, a loud sound was heard, and opening her eyes, she stared down.
The cup her mother had thrown at her crashed against the floor, shattering into multiple pieces. The pieces spread at different directions.
Raising her hand, Odette touched her forehead as she could feel a warm liquid oozing out of it. An ache permeated through it while her hand came in contact with it, and she felt pleased by that. Feeling pain after such a long time surely felt good to her.
As the blood flowed down her cheek gradually, she stared at the blood in her eyes and wondered about how the seven year old her reacted to this.
The current her was used to her mother throwing things at her, and raising her head, Odette stared at her mother, contemplating on whether or not to kill her now. It would be quite easy for her to kill her mother now.
It was not that anyone would not suspect her; it was merely that no one would care. After all, she was her father’s treasure, and since her mother was a pawn of little to no use, this would not even bother her father to the slightest.
However, she drove that idea away from her mind as soon as it came. She would most definitely take the life of her mother; that was the least she could do to show gratitude to her mother.
Thinking about the expression her mother would show her when she personally took the life of her mother excited her. How would her mother feel when she is killed by her own daughter someone who she trained to perfection? It would be an indeed pitiful.
Valentina noticed the look that passed through Odette’s eyes for a second, and a chill went at her spine at that. But then, seeing the pain in her eyes, Valentina brushed that thought away, taking it to be a part of her imagination.
“Mother, did I upset you?” Odette asked.
“You dare to ask that! Kneel down!” her mother exclaimed.
Probably in her last life, Odette bowed whenever her mother ordered her to for the most part, but she did not want to do that this time around.
Although she loved to have fun, Odette had her own pride as well, and bowing in front of a woman like her mother was mostly definitely something she despised. Doing things against her will was not something Odette was fond of.
Seeing that Odette stared straight at her without showing any signs of following her orders angered Valentina, and slamming her hand on top of the table before her, she created a loud noise before standing up.
Valentina’s eyes glared at her.
Probably the seven year old self from her last life cowered at the sight of it, but having experienced worse gaze, she found it being extremely weak. It did not manage to Odette intimidate in any way.
As Valentina stomped towards her, Odette could guess what Valentina would do, and despite that, she remained unfazed. Thinking about it, there was nothing that frightened Odette.
Although she tend to worry at certain times on how to approach Adrian, she was not fearful of anything truly, not even having her second life go to waste.
Odette found that being more or less annoying. She wanted to feel more arrays of emotion; she wanted to know it meant to feel fear and have one’s heart break. There was a desire within her to feel losing someone close to her and betrayal.
But she did not think those emotions were possible. Maybe because she was too tainted to deserve all those sorts of emotions.
“You dare to defy me now, You Ill-mannered Child! You have the audacity to do that after you lost to that whore’s child! Do you know how ashamed I was!?
I told you to practice hard, but it seems that you were not listening! And you did not listen to my orders! Are you planning to get rebellious?” Valentina exclaimed while gripping tightly on to her shoulders.
There were many words Odette wanted to tell her mother about. She wanted to mention on regardless of how hard she tried, she would never be able to reach the position of the duchess and how the duke was merely using Valentina to cultivate Odette.
Otherwise, Damian Albinius would have disposed of her, considering how troublesome her mother tend to be at times.
Although Odette was thrilled to see the expression her mother would make after this, she could not afford to do that. Her mother was needed in her plans in the future, and it would be too boring to tell her mother know about it now. Now was not the proper timing.
“Stop staring at me with those eyes, You Insolent Child! If you dare to defy me, I will kill you! I did not put so much effort into you just so you can become so useless. I have no requirement for useless child!
I want to abandon you and have another child. But that father of yours would not sleep with me. That’s why, please him more. Make me sleep with him,” Valentina vocalised, pushing Odette back.
